This hotel is right on the river, I chose it because we were visiting several spas nearby (two of the best baths - Rudas and Gellert are just over the bridge). The hotel is clean and comfortable with good sheets and the aircon was much appreciated as it was 35 degrees when we arrived. We had a room at the back that was quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful and booked a boat trip for us. The building must have been beautiful in its day. I always read hotel reviews very carefully and noted people complained about marks on the carpet etc, poor decor etc. We paid a little over 50 euros a night for this hotel, I am not quite sure what people expect for this kind of money in a capital city. Out of interest, we googled hotel rates for the hotel next door, (Matild Palace) including tax the cheapest room available was 640 euros a night. I travel a lot and thought the Matyas was great value and would return.

Fantastic location at a budget price

I stayed for three nights and where to say that I found myself well mostly because it is very close to the center two steps away there are shops and restaurants so for the location is great.

Good position

Fantastic location. Nice looking building on the outside. Incredibly cheap and it shows. Very unkempt, shabby, very dirty if you move furniture, we tried to plug in light behind bedside cabinet, but plug socket dangerously loose. Lumpy bed. When on shower no room to wash legs properly. Needs a huge investment in all areas. You can only borrow a kettle when you need it and there are no cups as restaurant is closed and padlocked. If on a budget it won't kill you, but spend a bit more.

Great location and nothing else

A hotel with a fantastic location, in an old and very beautiful building on the outside, on the inside would need some refurbishment. The room is large, the beds somewhat uncomfortable, the shower part is hard to absorb water, also quite small and that I am quite thin and my partner is relatively small as well. The receptionist is a little unpleasant, he notes that it costs the treatment of the public, so he should work a little more on it, because luckily or unfortunately it works in front of the public and his job depends on it...

We had to book a room to an other hotel .
The staff was rude and they didn't care about the customers.
The room facilities was out of the date.
The breakfast was also a well done lie..
I asked about a refund but this was unavailable because of with booked this room from a 3rd part partner .


The worst hotel ever !!

The hotel is in a perfect area but it's too bad it's dirty! Starting from the sheets and towels that I didn't change x every four days I stayed there! And I can guarantee this because I thought I was impressed until I decided to dirty a corner of a pink towel and put it on the bathroom floor to see if I changed but... unfortunately I found the same towel stuffed as if it was clean! And this thing was bad enough to say x this one or maybe not even a star! Normal breakfast!

That's dirty!

This is a very modest and basic hotel in a very good location. We have stayed there for one night in October 2018. We choose this hotel because of the very central location and because we were not planning to stay in the room much anyway as we had the tours booked. For this purpose it worked good, but would probably not stayed there longer than one night. The room has everything you need but it does give the impression of being VERY modest place. There are steps to get to the hotel so it is not very convenient if you have heavy suitcases.

Location is very handy

Unfortunately, there are more disadvantages than disadvantages. In short:. + location! price!. - no noise insulation, no cleaning, bathroom smells, mattress is hollow, repair is dead.

The three-star hotel is on sale.

an average price hotel with better than average service, in a great location and with a good breakfast.

located right next to Elizabeth bridge and ideal for touring both sides of the river

This hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in, dirty, badly fitting dirty curtains, filthy lifts with obscenities drawn on the wall. Broken shower, room not cleaned or hoovered once during our stay. No tea or coffee available. Rooms terrible. Staff sullen and unhelpful. Loud rowdy groups at night. Communal stair ways are dirty and dark. Dangerously placed electrical sockets by the mattress. 
Certainly not wheelchair or disabled friendly. 
Avoid at all costs, despite its great location
