I chose City Hostel Corwin because of the price and the proximity to the center. In the summer it was the best option for Booking. Although by name it is a hostel, we lived in a separate room. As soon as you get into the room, you realize that you have returned to your student youth, because judging by the interior, this is a former student dormitory. In addition to beds, there are bookshelves and desks along the wall, and a refrigerator in the room. There is even a cooking tile. The shower room is quite clean, although it is clear that there has not been a repair for a long time. But strictly speaking, everything corresponds to the price. If you don't fixate on the details, everything is quite acceptable.

We arrive at the reception with our reservation and we are immediately notified by a loose girl who only accepts cash, so we always take the loose lady 1 km to the nearest atm and we return. We return to the reception passing through completely useless turnstiles that should open with magnetic cards that are however bathroom works once every 2 hours, so a gentleman sleeping at the security bank  unlocks the lenses without even looking at who were entering or asking for anything, to this effect we always take the minimum of a turn away.

It's terrible.

I always like to start off a review by stressing that you should take most reviews with a pinch of salt - as things like customer service, cleanliness, food, and location are all based on each individual person's own personal opinions - and we all have different standards and expectations.

We had a room to ourselves which was very large. The room had three beds, desks, and kitchenette. Also a separate shower and toilet rooms, which would have been good if sharing with strangers. As we were on a football trip, this was all we needed. 

A couple of issues (1) room was not that clean looking and bin was not emptied (2) no air conditioning. We stayed in July 2018 and the humidity in the room was unbearable. I would not stay here again for that reason alone.

Cheap

Courtesy staff, low rates, no outside noise at night, good Wi-Fi signal and rooms appear undoubtedly clean. At the same time, the street where it is located, has no metro stop nearby, there is no air conditioning in the room, the ventilator if requested at the reception, in addition to a compulsory pre-warranty of € 10, has a rental cost of € 2 per night. No towels equipped, zero shampoo or shower in the bathroom, only a bottle containing a liquid hand soap.

It's cheap, but it's too sparse.

If you only need to stay overnight, you can stay in this hostel. Because it's a comfortable place. But you can't stay more than one night in this hotel. It's very dirty, it feels like it hasn't been cleaned since it was built. Everything is dirty... shower, toilet, floor, dust everywhere, kitchen is covered in dirt. Before booking a room in this hostel, think very carefully. 😕

We’ve booked 4 nights at city hostel westend in February, 2 weeks before the check in date they send us an email inform that the hotel just open for our second night and than suggest this one and we accept. The conditions in Corvin hostel are hawful. The toilet still has toilet paper in it and the shower still has hair on the floor. The room was too hot and no air con available (or even a fan). The location is not so good as well. Actually we don’t pay as much but at least the minimum conditions must be applied.

Think twice!

Pros: Great location near the railway station. Budget price. Nice and helpful staff.

Cons: they provide no towels. There's no air conditioning (the room was hot as hell!, we really found it difficult to get asleep, and then woke up drenched in sweat). The fridges in the kitchen are really noisy (maybe with one fridge would be more than enough ...).

OK for a couple of nights

It is very cheap. For  4 days and 3 nights we paid 75 euros for two people: from 19 to 22 August.

The room looks like a student room: 2 closets, 2 tables, reading lamps over each bed and a lot of shelves where you can place your luggage.

Good location near to the main rail station, internet, fridge, shower and toilet.

In the room there is no air conditioner or fan. Terrible smell in the kitchen. I advise you to buy toilet paper. Hostel is located next to the discount supermarket "Penny".
Also, towels is not included.

Very nice and helpful staff. Recommended for travel with friends.

Very good value for money

We spontaneously booked two nights in the hostel because it was very cheap and wounded completely disappointed. The room was not cleaned, haircuts were on the floor and the bathroom was completely covered (without flipflops to enter). Also, it was very warm because there was no air conditioning, fans had to be borrowed at the reception for a fee. The front kitchen was not equipped, so you have to bring everything. There was no keyword, no towels.

It's disgusting and disgusting and disgusting.

We booked a double room with a communal bathroom and kitchen. The floor was really dirty, the kitchen (in which there were not even the necessary utensils) and the bathroom barely talked about. It was extremely unattended, no, disgustingly dirty! Only one of five lamps worked in the room. The only advantage offered is the unbeatable price (55€ for 2 persons, 2 nights). In short: With a canister of disinfectant and a cleaning cream, this unloving hostel is recommended.
