Tisza Sport Hotel

We were in this hotel as a family for a few days. A few positive things: - When we checked in everything went well, everything went very well. - The breakfast staff was very nice. - Late at night the reception is also occupied. Negative things: - Hygiene, room was very dirty, broken things. - Unfriendly cleaning staff. - We reported that our room is not clean, but nothing was done. I do not recommend this hotel further, as it is very old and does not look at all like in the pictures. The lack of hygiene is the biggest problem.

I wouldn't recommend it.

I made a reservation for two of my colleagues more than one month earlier, because they had to take part on an important event/conference close to the hotel.
On the same day of book in, we received a short email, that their reservation is modified to another hotel on the other part of the city - far from the event.
I called the hotel and told the lady on the other end of the line that this situation is very uncomfortable for my colleagues, because of the distance, so please try to compensate with a free taxi service for my colleagues, because will be a celebration on the event and they have to use taxi late evening - its normal that they have to drink a glass of champagne or wine with our partners. The lady refused my request starchy and said the word "drunken" to my colleagues without any information about them.
Summary: my colleagues went back late night by taxi - and it was paid by them.
The service of this "alternative" Tisza Alfa Hotel was rubbish - we will avoid this "hotel-company" in the future.

Unpleasant unexpected situation

Never had hotel like this before:
- mouldy bathroom and mould everywhere there
- mould and dirt in room as parquet floor is not properly laid: everywhere badly cut panels 
- damaged and rusted fittings in bathroom
- wall plaster loosens

-> hotel should be shut down by authorities !!!
- no plain water at breakfast buffet available

AND last but not least: effrontery and insolence:
Management charges per dog per night 24.-EURO or 6000.-HUF (what means a really exorbitant and usurious exchange rate) !!! and doesn't matter which age, size or race

Staff was very very friendly and multilingual - and not responsible at all for these horrible conditions caused by management.

There remains only one conclusion: avoid this hotel and put it on your blacklist !

The distance from the hotel to the center is about 20 square meters.It is a very basic hotel.The correct room, without decoration and not very clean.The balcony and the patio full of leaves ((although it is autumn; it seems that they have been accumulating for a long time) The positive is the abundant and freshly prepared breakfast.The worst is the lack of toiletries.The receptionists are very unasserted.

I think it is the hotel that inspired Alfred Hitchcock to do his movies. Creepy very basic odd smelling cleaning not very good I gave it 2 stars because the personal was very friendly. Totally not recommended.  

 Cheap an basic

It's far from a 3 star hotel, however, I was in a classic room with air conditioner. It didn't work properly, couldn't cool down even the relatively small room. Cleanliness was OK. The whole building is a pre-fabricated one, old socialist feeling! Elevator is available only one side of the building despite being a hotel with five floor.
The most terrible was the breakfast. The dining-room was overcrowded, you have to stay and wait  in a long queue. There werent any tables to sit, and weren't enough glasses and cups. When we complained about all of these, the answer was a nice shout down that we souldn't come to eat at 8 am, becuase it's always full that time, so why didn't we come earlier. 
Food is basic, fuit juice??? is horrible. 
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay, 1 night was more than enough!

Avoid it!

This is a basic hotel, nothing fancy but it was clean. Thehotel appearance is that it is tired and in need of modification. Wouldn't book here again. Breakfast was included - edible but nothing fancy.

Hotel is situated on the river,quiet green surrounding max 10 min on foot from downtown. Excellent breakfast.

I don't recommend definitely, because its too expensive and uncomfortable compared to alternatives. We choose it because we didn't found any other suitable place. But we stayed just two days and then we went to another hotel

Before the Erasmus experience I was advised to stay because of the cheap prices. Very uncomfortable position, horrible room, poor service. For checking in I took more than an hour because no one could speak English that night. Breakfast is enough, but for the rest it is a hotel to forget and I would not recommend anyone even for one night because at the same price it is better. If I could put 0 stars I would do it.
