A number of issues here.  We got there after 6:00 (8 rooms booked) and the proprietor had left and given instructions for our rooms to another guest who happened to be outside smoking when we got there. Odd.   Also their kitchen is closed at this time of year but our travel agent felt they might open up specifically for a large group.  Took days of communication to get an answer that no they would not (this is a remote part of Iceland so not many food options).  We did request breakfast and had to remind them several times (it was just for our group and they charged for it over and above the room rate) and each time it was like they'd never heard it before.  To top it off , we had one guest in a single room and two sharing a double and all three had bed bugs.  Would be hard to point a finger on where they got those if they hadn't seen them.  A shame to have these problems as the rooms are huge. 

basic but clean accommodation, well out the way from everything, very peaceful, none of that matters as the 5 stars is 100% deserved for the food, it was exceptional, the staff were attentive and the service was quick, stayed for three nights, had fish of the day twice, it was that good.

All about the food

Beautiful hotel, you feel like in a cabin, it has a reception to sit down to eat or chat very well, the hotel is very clean and the heating is on the floor, so super comfortable. The restaurant very rich, we eat hamburgers, we taste shark and a delicious carrot cake! Juan Carlos was super kind to us and made us very well stay! The landscape is beautiful because it is surrounded by Del Mar!

Vista al mar, a hotel like a cabin.

The room is made of wood, it has a terrace with a glass sliding door that leads to the room, which makes it a little dark, enough room, even for the folded suitcase. Clean, good breakfast. Very lonely corner.

Funny wooden house

During our multi-week trip to Iceland in July 2023, we stayed for the fourth of two nights at the Malarhorn Guesthouse in Two Bedrooms with Community Bathroom. First of all, the positive: the Seven Small Bedrooms and the Two Small Bathrooms were clean and well equipped. The breakfast buffet offered was great. The team was helpful and very friendly. The location is great. Negative: The rooms we used were only six square meters in size and are too small for a long stay and not available. Two of the three more complex bags can only be purchased from the public, but the total amount of the bags and the bags we recommended for our guests and guests - the cost of this service was not really enough. The price of the buffet was not really good enough in the main area of our community.

Overall disappointing

This was a great place to relax.  The room, breakfast, host and staff were wonderful.  We only spent 2 nights/days there but enjoyed them both.  As a note, the on-site restaurant is terrific, the fish of the day is just outstanding.  The pool in Drangnes is also great, we had a great time talking to Icelanders staying there.

A Very Nice Accommodation

A pleasant hotel with many rooms.  We had a very good room facing to the view and fjord, but we were lucky.  There are some rooms facing the parking lot with is not so nice.  Room was spacious and comfortable.  Breakfast was good.  The only problem was that you can hear everything that id done in your adjacent rooms.  Each talk, each toilet flash etc.  Anyhow recommended.

Recommended, just a problem of noise

Spacious cabin with easy access from the outside (car, suitcases). The shower itself is small. Comfortable bed with cotton linen (big plus!). Dinner at the Kaffi was also great - you can reserve in advance.  The view was beautiful. Each cabin has a closed off porch and they are side by side townhouse style. One of the better accommodations we’ve had in Iceland - highly recommended.

Highly recommended spacious cabin

When you walk up to the living room and the bathroom are rather spacious and pleasant, but the rooms are... the help!! smaller they couldn't have done...it's not rooms but sweeping cabinets! The beds almost touch the doors, forced to pack suitcases (quite large), no ergonomics facilities. You literally walk up on them, shortly, not to do, not to do again! Moreover, on noisy neighbors who decide to watch TV when you just want to relax and sleep after long hours on the road, it's to go back to the farmhouse.

A bad experience

Very nice, clean and well furnished room and structure. Location on the seafront, just a few steps from free natural swimming pools.
