Already, the address listed is not the right one which has added us to the 30-minute drive. There is no indication on the site to find his cottage, no one to welcome us and a baby bed as planned. The result is a 2-year-old sleeping in a bed without bars at half height.

Not a great memory.

We had booked a #3 cottage months ago only to find out when we arrived that the middle cottage had been split into three small units so #3 was now the size of a walkin closet. Instead of it being a whole cottage as we had booked, it was a tiny space with a hot plate, mini fridge and two twin beds adjoined by two larger apartments on either side. Not even room for our suitcases. No action was taken by the owner even though a larger space was vacant. This was a big disappointment and we cut our stay short. #2,3&4 are a cottage split in three, #1&#5 are cottages. This was the only problem we had with our Iceland accommodations. Too bad, location was nice.

A word of caution!

Property has been well used but was very warm and we found it very comfortable.  A few things weren't perfect  (eg the shower head didn't fit too well), but it was well appointed and everything was there that was needed.  The bed was comfy as was the lounge and everything you needed was there, inc toaster, coffee machine, microwave, fridge freezer etc etc.  Oh and the wifi was great -despite other folk saying in the guestbook they'd struggled you only need to plug the router in and look on it's back for the wireless code.  We did and it was fine.    Note some folk said the'yd sat in the hot tub watching the Aurora, but if cloudy it's probable the lights were the reflections from the greenhouses in Reykholt.  We DID however get to see the lights as it was remote and dark enough to stand outside the front door and watch them

Super location

The only word to describe our stay at Eyjasól 2 is magical. My partner and I arrived on the 28th of December and were presented with a clean, warm and functional cottage. The atmosphere was cozy and we felt like we were in a home away from home. Only a 15 minute drive from Geysir and another 15 minutes from Gulfoss, this bungalo is situated in an amazing location which is secluded yet surrounded by natural wonders.The weather for our first couple days was typical of winter, cloudy and wet which made the hot tub a lovely and calming experience. We were fortunate enough on the 2nd night to experience a break in the clouds which permitted for a dazzling display of the Northern Lights. We were able to run up a hillside close to the property to get an extraordinary view of the nights presentation. Amazing! Our stay at the bungalo was a truly romantic and exciting experience for both of us. The memories will last until our next visit and long after. Thank you so much!

Magical

Georgeous but remote location. Cottage well set out, warm and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Small supermarket  about 10km away.  Good location for visiting attractions in the Golden Circle. Only complaint was that spa (hot tub) was out of order and therefore unusable, and it would appear from comments in the guest book that it had been broken for several months.

The 4th floor is very nice, it's all equipped with even a jacuzzi on the terrace in the middle of nature with an incredible view. Only a little window, the indication to go there, (under the snow the entrance panel is not visible).

It is so nice to stay in a cottages, with a hot pot to bath in outside the house. It was peaceful and beautiful surroundings, with the scents of the grass and the trees in the air.  It is totally worth it to stay there and I recommend it especially for families to enjoy to be together.
