Stayed here during travel. Very average hotel. Can be avoided if traveling with family. Cleanliness was average, room service was ok ok, and food was not upto the mark. Preferred to eat outside. Staff behavior was ok.

decent people with amazing hospitality

Myself and three of my friends who are bird photographer stayed in this property for 2 nights from 18th to 20th November, 2017. When I wanted to visit Jorbeer bird sanctuary, I have decided to stay in Bikaner. I searched various property through TripAdvisor. I was very happy to see five star rating by TripAdvisor and called Gunal the property owner. He said that he knows everything about birds at bird sanctuary and he will take us there without any extra fee. I asked him to book 2 rooms for 2 nights. But he never booked any rooms. So finally I booked through 2 rooms for 2 nights at the rate of Rs 4000 excluding tax. When I reached Bikaner from Phalodi I was going to this property by using Google maps. But it took us to wrong place about 5 kms away from this place. Finally when Gunal arrived to take us I told him about this, he said he knows about it!!!. I never thought it is home stay.
Only rooms are available in first floor. Steps are very steep, as I am suffering from arthritis I could climb the stairs with lot of difficulty. Rooms are very very small approximately 10×8 ft. Room I stayed do not have attached bathroom, the common bathroom is located dangerously near the
 steps. The heater never worked in spite of repeated complaints. He took us to bird sanctuary in a small car and we could not sit comfortably with our camera and big lenses. He doesn't have any knowledge about birds although he claims he is a birding guide. He brought one man from forest dept, he also does not have knowledge about birds. At 10.30 AM he said there is no time for breakfast and he can provide only lunch. Finally the lunch is provided at 14.30 hrs after repeated calls.
He arranged one open Jeep for safari for Rs 2000 for full day. But Jeep never returned after 11.00 hrs. He made us to pay Rs1500 next-day. On 20th we have arranged our own guide and vehicle. He was very much upset and rang up to the guide and scolded. When we wanted late check-out he said nothing. But finally he collected full day rent. When I booked through booking.com for Rs 4000,he charged Rs 1200 per day/ person which he never mentioned during check in and he collected more than Rs 15000 finally. I wonder how this property gets 5 star rating by TripAdvisor.Birding people should
 never go to this property. Only positive thing is we enjoyed some Rajasthan's traditional food.



Worst Experience

During a birding tour at Bikaner in February, 2017, I along with a couple of fellow birders stayed at this guest house. Rooms are clean, food is home cooked and healthy. Atmosphere is homely. Moreover, they provide a very cordial and well-informed birding tour in and around BIKANER AND JORBEER AREA.

Looking forward to visit again.
