This is my 6th visit to Pelling, first being in Nov'2008.

This time, I was in Norbu Ghang Retreat & Spa for 4 nights and returned home on 28th Dec'23 (today) morning.

I would like to cover the following aspects for this property in my review.

1. Location: This property is spread over a large area with a beautiful walk-through road inside. On a clear day, the entire Khangchendzonga massif is visible crystal clear from anywhere on the property behind the main building. We were able to see the magnificent sunrise over the third highest mountain in the world from inside our room, something that people across the globe spend humongous amounts to go to Tiger Hill to view. I regret having relied on my mobile phone instead of carrying my DSLR to capture those moments. Apart from the view, the retreat is located very conveniently mid-way between the town centre and the helipad (now being converted into a rope-way point up to Sanga Choeling monastery). Thus availability of ATMs, Tourist Information Centre, and my personal favourite place to have lunch, Hotel Kabur (my first visit there was in 2008) is just a stone's throw distance.

2. Property: Spread over a large area, a most suited one for spending the whole day lazing around, and if luck permits, with the third highest mountain looming large over you. This property is situated above the older property and I was told that this construction commenced around 2013. The maintenance is flawless and the beautiful white blocks constructed in the Bhutanese style of architecture blend most naturally into the mountain landscape. The blocks are named after the flowers and the one where I stayed was Begonia, third floor. The rooms are, well, huge with immaculately laid settings and a really large and well maintained bathroom with a bath tub, shower-corner, western style WC and all. The blocks have been built in layers and thus there is never any interruption in the view of the Khangchendzonga from any of the balconies. Each of the blocks have a small adjoining garden and sitting area to laze around or to have the breakfast in full view of the mountains. The property comes complete with Dottho the hot stone bath, Menchu the spa, and children's playhouse with tree-houses etc. From what I could make out, some of the blocks even have wheelchair access right up-to the room.

3. Personnel: I don't know where to start, but to name just a few of the people I interacted with, I must mention the following names, Miss Pabitra and Mr.Pramit who served us the food at the Etho Metho restaurant, Chef Sadip who cooked the amazing roast for our Christmas dinner, Mr.Rahul who attended to us from the first moment we stepped into the hotel, and last but not the least, Mr.Tshering, the manager of the property who was always welcoming us with a broad smile every time we entered the main block. The courtesy, politeness and the attention to the needs of the guests by each of these wonderful people I just named, floored us. I am sure they are supported by an equal number of people who we did not get to meet and who worked behind the scenes. I am extremely thankful to each of you for such wonderful hospitality.

4. Service: Prompt and always with a smile. Housekeeping was regular. They even lit the fireplace inside our room upon our request.

5. Food: The menu is well spread, but because this was not the main season, a more limited menu was available. The taste is finger-licking good. Chef Sadip went the extra mile to cook us a delectable roast for our Christmas dinner.

I have attached a few photos of the property, but I can assure you that these photos will fail to convey the real beauty and hospitality that we experienced during our 4 nights of stay at the property. I am thankful to the Norbu Ghang Retreat & Spa for accepting us as their guests and taking care of us. I hope I can return to them sometime soon.

Comfort, courtesy, view, amazing hospitality

The location and views from the hotel couldn't be bettered. When we visited it was cold in the evenings and so we were provided with a room heater and extra blankets.

The rooms are chalet style set in the hotel grounds up from the main building. Accommodation is comfortable.

We were part of a group and our food was served buffet style with plenty of choice. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful.

Friendly hotel with great views

We stayed at the Norbu Gangh Retreat and spa in September 2023. we were a family of 8 people including 2 senior citizens and 2 kids. we had taken 3 rooms. 2 Super deluxe rooms and 1 suite. 

The Suite room is in the main building and is a huge room with a big living  area with sofas and a center table and a big bedroom with a fire place, lots of cuboard storage, and many windows. The bathroom is big with a Jacuzzi, a separate shower cubicle with jet showers, and 2 basins. The room also has a balcony which has a superb valley view (kunchenjunga view) and has sofas and table to sit and relax while enjoying the view.

The main wing only has the reception a tthe ground level, the restaurant at the 1st level and 2 suit rooms and a small library on level 2. there is no lift in the building. all other rooms are spread across in configuration of cottages. there is another resort which is called Norbu Gangh resort which is at a lower level and is connected.

The Hotel staff is very good and the food was also good. We were there in off season and hence there were not many guest at the hotel hence the food was prepared as per our recommendation.



beautiful and spreadout property 

Fantastic hotel , view was mesmerising very hospitable staff. We stayed for 3 nights it was a great stay with clear view of Kanchenjunga . One thing I must ask the management to improve on that is food. Breakfast spread needs to be English breakfast to be enjoyed by the guest . Also the menu was exorbitantly priced high. Suggest book for room only or in CP plan

Best view and comfy hotel

Hotel is beautifully made and cottages were awesome. Staff over here are very friendly and helpful and on point on their service they always had a smile on their face and greet you every time you see them 

The best thing I liked about the hotel was food they have some amazing food. I stayed in Sikkim in many hotels but haven’t had such great food and they have a good option for vegetarian and they served deserts also that to not one they hade 2-3 desert for dinner I toh absolutely loved the food had a great experience

This hotel is highly underrated one must stay here visiting Pelling

Superb stay

Undoubtedly, this is The Best Hotel at Pelling, West Sikkim. 
1) The panoramic view of the mighty Kanchenjunga is simply mind blowing. No other hotel in Pelling can boast of such amazing view of the mighty Himalayas, right from the balcony of the hotel.
2) The ambience of the restaurant needs a special mention. The brilliantly decorated restaurant along with delicious food makes the stay memorable. 
3) The rooms are thoroughly cleaned every morning and are well ventilated as well as nicely illuminated.
4) Outstanding Customer Service is another USP of this superb hotel. Special mention about fantastic customer services by the Front Office Manager, Mr Ash Tshering Lepcha and the Front Office Assistant Mr Rahul Tamang. Truly a Customer's Delight for the tourists staying in this fabulous hotel, with special references to both Mr Rahul Tamang and Mr Ash Shering Lepcha.

Amazing beautiful property… nice peace and quaint climate.. relaxing and soothing.. amazing food although options are less.. staff. Very friendly… it was a great stress buster.. must recommend property.. special thanks to Mr Lama the property manager.. would love to stay again

Peking breathtaking view and weather and amazing ethnic property

Almost everything about this place is out of this world. It looks like straight out of a disney movie. The architect definitely has a great taste. Excellent room, great food, outstanding service, fantastic location...and the list goes on.

Awesome is a smaller word !!

I visited this spectacular property with my family during Diwali holidays. Pelling it self is Serene and tranquil place and Norbu Gangh is GEM of Pelling. We stayed in super deluxe room. Rooms are specious enough with very cozy feel. Rooms have very wonderful view of Mount Kanchunjanga from it's Windows. It is very largely spreded property with beautiful garden and vibrantly colourful flowers. Food was surprisingly very delicious and testy with reasonably good spread of buffet during breakfast and Dinner.   

Serene and Soulful Tranquility

Very picturesque location. Bit far from the tourist Hotspots but compensates amply by its tranquility and great views. There's is also a small little patio which lush green where u can sit with your loved ones and enjoy ur coffee or beer.. Very clean and picture perfect.
