Rooms and Bathrooms:
 we had booked three beachfront rooms in this resort. Me and my family was staying in the beachfront Bungalow. This particular room was spacious ( about 16'x16'). The other 2 rooms were also right on the beach but size of the rooms were very small (about 12'x12'). These rooms are only good enough for couples. If you are travelling with kids never go for these rooms. 
          The attached bathrooms lacked some of the basic amenities. 
              --> firstly they were supplying salt water in the bathroom taps which caused lot of inconvenience to us as we were travelling with kids . ( we checked in some other nearby resorts, and there the tap water was perfectly normal)
             --> the shower tap in my room was too tight and required lot of effort to open and close the tap.
            ---> my other friends also had some issues with their bathroom fittings.
           --> To top it all there was no water supply one whole night and Rahul and his people had no clue about it. In the morning I had to call rahul's number 3/4 times then he came and resloved the issue.

Service: 
--> The complementary mineral water bottles ,tea bags , milk etc were not replenished properly. Everytime, we had to go and remind them about it .
--> We had to wait patiently for at least two hours everyday to get our rooms cleaned. They have only two cleaning girls to clean the entire resort. So obviously you have to wait for your turn.
  --> The beach chairs were not cleaned inspite of repeated reminders.
     Overall the service was really bad. 

Location:
Location was the only good part of our stay as our rooms were right on the beach. But then you can get the advantage of this location if you stay in any other resort on Agonda beach. Almos all resorts offer beachfront cottages.

Food:
Breakfast was complementary and the menu was same everday. 
We tried some other dishes as well from their restaurant and it was good.

My overall stay in this resort was not a pleasant one. I will definitely not recommend this resort to anyone.

Not a pleasant stay

We visited this resort last week - two reasons to it 1) Agonda is known to be a beach less crowded and hence pristine to some extent. 2)  read some decent reviews about this resort. We had booked three cottages. 

Well I came back very impressed with the location, the beach and its cleanliness, profile of the visitors etc, but I am equally and totally disappointed with the resort. 

Am giving it a single star just becos of it's location, otherwise everything else about this place falls short of expectations and deserve zero star.

To start with the rooms were creaky and lacks basic amenities. Think of it, the power voltage fluctuates, the AC keeps going off intermittently, the door handles were falling off, the beach chairs were had stuff coming out of them and not cleaned probably for weeks, and the best part is that they supply salty sea water in rooms. So forget washing your mouth or brushing, it was just horrible, you cannot even mouth it. 

Now coming to the worst part  - the service, lesser said about that better it is. 

They are supposed to provide two mineral water bottles everyday which they say we should also to be using for washing mouth etc. , So that was missing on the first day 
The complimentary tea bags were not replenished on 2nd day and we had to remind that on 3rd day to have a refill. 
On the third night, there was no water supply through the night and next day morning, no body at the reception to inform about it. Next day morning, when we could finally inform Mr. Rahul about that (after 5-6 calls and messages) , he had the audacity to tell that he was not aware of it. I am wondering how some body running a resort in a popular location wouldn't be aware that there is no water supply ( a basic  amenity) in his resort for 10 hours and why there wouldn't be a single person available in the resort to inform about it. 

Then we had couple of ladies who were supposed to help in house keeping. The poor ladies were not at all trained and didnt know how to handle guests and their queries. They were just clueless. And that too they would come only after you follow up 3-4 times. Nothing happens on its own unless you go and follow up multiple times. 

Food at restaurant is average at best.The breakfast had a limited spread. And food was very very expensive. 

The beach chairs were in tattered condition with no one cleaning them at least during the 3 days we are here. In fact, when we asked one extra bed, they took a tattered beach chair, put a white sheet on it and put it in the room as an extra bed :) :) 

Overall the location was excellent, less crowded, serene and peaceful. 

As far as Saffron sands is concerned, I would not recommend a resort which can't even provide good fresh water in bathroom, forget about other amenities.

Our sojourn by the beach

Wandering through Agonda is a colourful and fascinating experience, if somewhat hot and dusty. Saffron Sands bar is perfectly located for an ice cold beer and a warm welcome - highly recommend! They will even adapt bar stools to your height, or enjoy a table directly under a fan :-)

This place has 4 huts only and it is pet friendly, we were travelling with 2 dogs. Had the hut right in front of the beach, very cute and great view. Good service provided by young guys, good food as well. Too short stay indeed

A little paradise in Agonda

Stayed here for four nights! We negotiated a reasonable price with the very friendly staff! The food was delicious, and the beach was quiet and beautiful. The only negative was that we were asked to move rooms, in order to make way for presumably a higher paying customer.

Absolutely delightful stay

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. I'll never come back again!!!!!! Full anti-sanitary! Maybe Europeans and good, but not for us!
