I only stayed there for 2 nights. The room with air conditioning and ventilation, was quite clean, despite a painting that had to be refreshed. What makes the hotel look like this is its location not far from the gates passing through a Nepalese temple and the terrace with a stunning view of the Ganges River.

I had booked 4 nights. I had to pay cash, but the drama started the moment they gave me the room. Very dirty!!! An indescribable thing. Even though I had paid 4 nights, I ran the next day. Brown water came out of the tap with traces of soil. Brown water came out of the tap with traces of soil. Old and dirty laundry to be disgusting. With rats in the landing. To be absolutely avoided!!!

varanasi Is one of my favorite places in India and really enjoyed staying at the Puja guest house.
our guide Chiva made all the difference, since we were three female friends having a spiritual and very honest guide really helped. I definitely recommend the puja guess house.exceptional good food  in the roof top restaurant as well.

The best guide in the city (chiva)

Puja Guest House is quite well placed when you don't get lost! Prices are correct and the rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors have a perfect view over the Ganges. The restaurant prepares good dishes (you have to be patient...) on the rooftop. Otherwise the rooms are not all equal for the same price and the cleanliness of the sheets is limited. Good address for an average budget. Don't forget to check the room climate! The hotel also offers a tested and approved airport rickshaw service!

We had a good time in Varanasi at this hostel. 
Two best things: 
- Roof top restaurant with an amazing view
- A guy called "Shiva" who is a great guide and organizer

The rooms are not super clean, the sink was broken and every thing looked as if it wouldn't hurt to invest some money for a renovation. Anyhow it's location is great and it is not expensive.

When we checked in Shiva warned us about the scams going on in Varanasi, and gave us some tips. He also offered different tours but not in the super insisting way you get so often at other places in India.

He organized a boat tour for us for 500 inr. (~2h, 2 person, small boat) which is a pretty good price.

He also offered different tours through Varanasi where he himself is the guide. We decided to go on the so called City Tour. For 1600 inr we took a rickshaw and he showed us different temples, the university and some ghats. Everything was  included in this price and we had a great time with him. He explained his religion and culture with much enthusiasm. It was a great experience and we can highly recommend it.

Good stay, good time

What a pleasant stay! The reception was very warm, with staff always available, whether for catering or for any tourist information. The decor of the rooms is sober but nice! Magnificent view of the Ganges! As for the terrace, I would have liked the space to be better laid out, warmer, but not counting the monkeys, who, in this part of the city, are numerous and do not bother to spoil everything! The managers had explained this problem and I could see it! Thanks again for this pleasant stay!

It's a great stay at Puja Guest House.

Puja Guest House may not be the most luxurious of the guest houses but it is the one that offers the most beautiful and high view of this magical city. An incredible 360-degree view. The staff is really nice and Adjit the owner wants from here can install an elevator and a terrace worthy of this unusual place.

We had a very good time here, the restaurant serves good meals and the staff is friendly.
Our room had a terrific view on the river, so does the terrace which is probably the highest building in the old town with an incredibile panorama.

Ashok the massage guy is overpriced, don’t do that.

Best rooftop terrace in town

Stayed here for 4 nights and had an enjoyable stay. Room was basic but very clean and staff are really friendly.  The rooftop restaurant has the best views over the river. Unfortunately they don't have live music here anymore as player is sick but overall nice place to stay!

Pleasant stay

Very disappointing. The rooms are dirty, the bedding is doubtful, everything is swollen in them Unhealthy limit especially for a little over 1000 rupees a night. The manager is not nice and sweet and are not super nice staff. The only positive point is the restaurant on the roof we eat very well and the view is very beautiful ABE...
