I stayed here 7 years ago, and  had a great time.. Lovely place, lovely host, really nice people... The breakfast was very good..the city center was easy to reach, good neighborhood... Would love to come again

Lovely place

When we got there, no one was there. After three calls, we were told that he was there in 20 minutes. Then he had to clean the room first... Our closet door was still in the hallway, the window was sealed with tape. The shower cabin was defective and could not be closed. Also, there was mold on the ceiling. Price/performance is not right at all! Fingers off!

I wonder how some people can rate the apartment as excellent. I want to see their apartments... it's mud, mold, snack lamps that you find more beautiful on every garbage can, broken curtains, broken windows, defective closet with the door in the staircase, etc. If you want the holidays to be nice, let it be nearby.

Fingers off... Brutchbude, the price of which is immensely exaggerated.

1 the room wasn't ready and cleaned when we arrived, in the meantime we went out to drink a coffee story to leave the house time 2 when we returned, room change. Toilets cleaned at the Javel++, but still not done. We go back to take a walk to leave the time. 3 four hours later, still not done bed and the smell of javel replaced by the smell of goose. 4 even after 10 minutes, the host, charming by the way, came to make the bed.

Bad and bad

House smelled, loud, not a nice welcome or goodbye. Was in a good location but the price we paid I would rather of paid more to be in a worse location but have a nicer stay. Please see pictures of the state our was presented to us plus when trying to speak to someone about it no one was available

Please avoid

We booked for 1 night as going to a concert. When we arrived it took him 15minutes to answer the door(also wasn't answering his phone)! He then told us they had a problem with the water and he had arranged for alternative accommodation a 10 min walk away and told us the new hotel knew we were coming and it would be the same price. So after walking 25minutes to new hotel!!! When we got there they had no reservation for us so we rang him and explained this to him he said give me 5 minutes and I'll ring you back! We are still waiting on his call. So stranded in Dublin on a concert night with no accommodation we had to pay an extra 300 euros just to get a room! And we were late for the bloody concert! Absolute joke would not reccomend staying here!very stressful

Nightmare

After booking an overnight stay at Abbington House I read a review and became extremely worried that I had done the wrong thing. Our first impression was the review we read was extremely harsh. The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and bed comfortable. Disappointed to find a telly on the wall but no remote control to use it. Also disappointed the price didn't include a breakfast. I thought the clue was in the name.... B&B. Apart from those 2 concerns we'd no others. Private parking to the rear of the property and it isn't in run down estate, in fact it was in a quiet residential street.

Worried for no reason

We stayed one night, because we needed some accomodation on our way from airport to the western Ireland and we wanted to look around Dublin little bit. Driving at left was very difficult at first, so we really appreciated it is on direct route from the airport and we very randomly got parking space right in front of the Abbington House. It looks like normal house with staff that seems to be quite fast, there is internet connection and small but cozy room, which was quite enough for us what we needed at that moment. We were told we can come at night whenever we want, just to use the key we were given. and after that we never saw the staff again. There is also no breakfast, so its not actually B and B, but whatever. I can recommend that for its good location near to the city centre and airport and very calm streets.

For one night it was good

We stayed two nights and chose Abbington House because it was on the bus route from the airport to the city centre. It is also very near Drumcondra railway station and bus-stop.Room was small, clean and very basic. The manager was not usually in attendance.

Convenient for railway and buses

Our room was quite spacious, just like the bathroom. The closet was just for two people and the beds were very comfortable. Nothing noisy except when they were taking out the trash in the morning. The room included the typical dryer that turns off after 5 minutes of use and a water heater that didn't directly turn on. They are small details but we generally liked the room. We were aware that not all the rooms were as good as the other couple we were with had the room in front of the stairs so they couldn't sleep with the noise of people passing by... part of the cold that was in their room because they had a small candle that couldn't be closed.
