This hotel is very old fashioned and needs a spruce up, but really the main concern was we had noisy guests who kept all the guests up to 3 am and then finally the fire alarm went off at 3.30am this was a major worry as the hotel had no fire Marshall telling guests where to go it was sheer caous... The fire exit was dangerous as the steps needed repairing. This was seriously dangerous. Luckily  there was no fire... Only one chap on reception so he couldn't manage complaints or the situation..  He called fire brigade but by this time many guests returned to there rooms..I do not know how this hotel is still trading. They do not comply with having trained staff enough staff to cope in an emergency and could not deal with the guests causing this disturbance... I feel this should all be inspected for future guests... Please don't go here there are so many other reputable hotels in dublin.

Never will go here again

We loved this little hotel .  It was very economical and had little extras that made it so nice.  They left lovely ginger crackers with a variety of herbal teas and freshly ground coffee in the room and the bed was so comfy it was hard to gt up for our flight.  The bathroom was awesome we had a tub and it was gigantic.  The staff was really nice too.:)

The only positive thing about the hotel is its location. It is in the centre of Dublin, just across from the French Alliance, a 5-minute walk from Grafton Street (ideal for shopping) and Trinity College. I had already stayed at this hotel one night a few months earlier and we were surprised that we didn't have hot water in our room. We were forced to go shower in a common bathroom in the same room. I thought it was just a maintenance problem, but after a second stay in the same room I realized that it was a recurring problem, or a staff meeting?

Elizabeth on front desk is an absolute credit to you, she was exceptionally helpful and so lovely and it was not just to me I saw her interaction with a number of guests during my stay.

We recently stayed there for 2 nights & had no issues whatsoever. Yes it looks slightly dated but thats not a problem in my opinion, especially if you know that before you go. For the price & location you can't complain.

Great if you know what to expect

The location cannot be beaten and the staff are so charming, helpful and friendly. I stayed midweek and I could not have been happier with my stay. The price of my stay was unbelievable value for the location. Considering the price, I was really not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. My room was large, clean and comfortable. The only quibble I had with the room, involving a sash window with a broken catch was remedied quickly by maintenance. Since there is no lift, and not all rooms are en-suite check your booking and check in early-ish ( first come, first serve I imagine)If on the first floor stay towards the back as the pub is directly underneath. The pub is lovely and staff very friendly. It is an old building but they are continually updating it. I will definitely be back!

You get better than you pay for.

They gave us a four-bedroom and they said it was an upgrade, but the room was with a stove to light, the bathroom was pretty dirty, nothing to match the photos, and we were on the third floor and there was no elevator, and the reception is nice, but not enough to call it a hotel.

It Can Be Improved

This hotel is right in the centre of everything (right on Nassau street and Kildare beside Trinity college and national gallery) .. less than 10 mins walk to the majority of things you want to see in Dublin.

Rooms were dated, NO elevator. Staff were friendly enough. 
Old fashioned keys and needs a renovation but it was value for the money I paid and was location friendly which was the most important thing.

Central location but dated

Positives first! Nice clean room, free wifi, good supplies of tea and coffee in the room and lovely helpful friendly staff. Shock on arriving.... I've not had a shared bathroom in a hotel since the 1980s and didnt even consider it a possibility when I booked and so didnt spot it in my confirmation. My fault I know but still not a good point for this hotel! We managed to change room on the second night and got an en suite but had to pay more for it. The bathroom although clean was freezing!! No heating and a single glazed sash cord window in November! No breakfast room although the adjoining bar JP Mooneys serves a full irish. No other options though. Although clean the building is dated and tired. This hotel is more of a hostel than a hotel and cant even claim to be a B&B. Shame really because its perfectly situated for access to the city.

Beware the shared bathroom!

Staff are welcoming and is close to centre but its a standard 2* hotel. Very outdated. Stayed in a twin bed room. Cleaners came into our room without us knowing and changed only 1 bed and 1 bin. If you don't like people touching your things, don't stay here. Shower was blocked, no hook on bathroom door. On a noisy road and they don't do breakfast. Would not stay here again. Very poor.
