Italy Farm Stay is a very special place. I visited last month and can honestly say that it was one of the best experiences of my life. 

The manager/owner Antonello and his parents Giuseppe and Mariawork hard along with the volunteers, putting their hearts into creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere so that you will immediately feel at home on their beautiful farm. 

I booked the accommodation with the option of adding additional classes, meals and activities on top which suited me perfectly.  I am a woman and was travelling alone and immediately felt safe on the farm, meaning I could fully relax and recharge in nature, surrounded by good people.

My room was really lovely - spacious, clean, tastefully decorated with a huge shower and beautiful view. I couldn’t really ask for more!

I attended yoga classes with their regular teacher Olivia which was amazing, both for the quality of her teaching and also the setting, a spacious yet cosy converted barn - a beautiful building situated on the farm. 

Olivia clearly took a lot of time to think through her sessions which felt carefully curated, including music and positive affirmations. 

A fellow visitor, a nurse who works in a busy London hospital said to me as she left the class ‘that’s the first time I’ve breathed properly in months’. 

I felt that was a well deserved compliment for Olivia’s hard work! 

I chose to eat breakfast and dinner for each day of my stay which were sumptuous yet cosy affairs. 

Guests, Antonello’s family and the volunteers ate from the same long table, eating delicious dishes using ingredients from the farm and clearly cooked with love, guided I’m sure by Antonello’s mother Maria who is clearly an accomplished cook who cooks from the heart.  

The dining room comprised of people from around the world - England, France, Italy (of course!) Argentina, Saudi Arabia, a Palestinian guy living in Isreal, a Mexican woman living in the US, an American family visiting for the night…and those are just the ones I can remember! 

It felt like a truly special experience and I’ve kept the memory of these dinners along with the feeling I held with me throughout my stay since I’ve been back home in London. 

The breakfasts were such a lovely way to start the day, huge choice of things, the option to eat as much as you like, coffee on tap and friendly, interesting conversation. 

In addition to the yoga classes I took part in a hike which also incorporated a walking meditation, including through a semi abandoned village, which was a fascinating and grounding experience. 

Although I have some experience of silent retreats I haven’t ever walked with people through a new environment and it was interesting to experience being somewhere which might prompt conversation in silence. 

We ended the hike by visiting a beautiful lake - some of us (including me) swam which was amazing if bracing! (it was November and the water was 8 degrees). On our way home we passed by a cafe for cakes and a hot drink - really delicious food and the richest hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted! 

There is a beautiful woodland right on the doorstep of the farm and I went with some fellow travellers for a walk through it which was beautiful. Afterwards I spent some time alone 

I also went for a short hike in the hills above the village, Pescosolido which was absolutely stunning. 

I came across a shepherd there who makes cheese and gives workshops which guests from the farm can take part in. 

He was such a lovely man and we managed an exchange in my very faltering/beginners Italian which cemented for me my determination to return to the farm next year. 

I can’t finish this review without telling you more about Antonello’s father, Giuseppe, who is described as the ‘father of the farm’.

A really special person, he took the time was patient and kind enough to speak to teach me some Italian and also shared some of the olive oil he infuses with herbs from the farm. He swears by its medicinal properties and a month since returningI can almost still taste this on my tongue. 

I felt like Antonello and his family have created something on the farm which speaks to the power and beauty of connecting to the land and to each other.

If you’re hesitatin or wondering about booking a holiday here I would say just do it! You won’t regret it and you may make memories to last you a lifetime!

The owner Antonello is internationally renowed. I first knew about him at Worldpackers, and I gave his farmstay a try in November 2023. My awe made me give it only 5 stars because Google does not let me give 6.

COSMOPOLITAN HOST

Thank you very much to Antonello, Guiseppe, Maria, Giulia, Mickael for the two-week volunteering that I was able to do at Italy Farm Stay. Here I discovered the sense of community, of togetherness, of the joy of working and laughing together on a daily basis. I had the chance to meet other volunteers and hosts from all over the world who I will remember forever! We cooked together every day and ate healthy meals, balanced with vegetables and quality products. In the morning we worked 5 hours and in the afternoon we were free to go for an ice cream at Sora, to go to Yoga classes, to follow the hosts for a little walk at the lake: real quality time! The dormitories were very good and I quickly felt at home and integrated into the group of volunteers. Thanks !

Two-week Woofing at Italy Farm Stay : a beautifful community life !

My time in Italy Farm Stay was really great!
The place is beautiful and I have met wonderful people. 
The yoga classes were truly amazing such as the food (best olive oil ever) and the overall environment. We had the chance to go to many activities and hikes too!

Amazing!

I really enjoyed my stay at the farm. Everybody, including the volunteers and the other guest contributed to make this stay amazing. The atmosphere at the farm is very calm and relaxed but at the same time there is a lot of laughter and life. There is room for introspective solitude in the beautiful nature and around the farm, but also plenty of opportunity to connect and share adventures and excitement with likeminded people.I feel that the place attracts good people and have a fantastic energy around it. The farm is very beautiful with gorgeous trees, plants, fruits and aromatic herbs shared with living beings such as donkeys and wildroaming chickens. The surrounding nature with its hills and vegetation is just so beautiful. The nearby city of Sora is a very nice place to explore, with lovely cafés, delicious gelatos and stunning architecture. I can really recommend walking to Sora, but also the Castle Hike and a trip to Monte Cassino is highly recommendable. The food at the farm was very fresh, locally produced and delicious with many ingredients coming directly from the farm, such as fruits and eggs. Every meal was very diverse with so many different flavors and options. Great for vegans and vegetarians as well as meat eaters. The Yoga and treatments was of a very high quality performed by very competent people. It made me even more calm and happy. I also got to have the paragliding experience which was so much fun, amazing and beautiful.
The fact that I was not able to stay longer is the only downside to the experience.

A place of calm happiness

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent at Italy Farmstay. We were so happy to get off the beaten path to a part of Italy that few tourists see. I’m a farmer in the U.S., so I was very interested in learning which fruits, herbs & veggies grow in Italy. I also happen to love yoga and hiking, so Italy Farmstay was the perfect place for me/us! The host, Antonello, is quirky and fun; his parents & volunteers make the most delicious, wholesome meals. The homemade wine was so tasty! We met and shared meals with loads of lovely human beings from around the world here. I would highly recommend this place to any fun-loving, intrepid travelers who want a unique and affordable experience in Italy.

We love Italy Farmstay!

The Farm felt like a sanctuary — disconnected from the stress of daily life and reconnected to nature at every level.  From consuming farm-grown food (and wine) to going on hikes up the mountains to starting the day with the most amazing  yoga — my stay was transformative.   I also met lots of interesting and inspiring people from all over the world, including the lovely family who run the farm - Giuseppe, Maria, Antonello. 

Finally, I quite like the variety of activities offered and also the option to do nothing but suck in the view, smell, taste and feeling of the Farm.

Blissful and Stimulating

It's a beautiful place!! It seems like you're out of the world with these stone buildings that are not to say charming. A really charming little village with a path that leads to a stream. A finely renovated mini apartment, which allows you to immerse yourself in nature. It's a shame that these big windows don't have enough curtains, or blinds or shutters. So you wake up at dawn, because the light enters the room as if there were eight lights on. However, the real bad news is the cleanliness. It's completely absent.

My new favorite place in the world is cool Cobo, nice people, fun adventures, and the opportunity to connect with different travelers from all over the world! Whether you come for outdoor things or for the spa/yoga package, you'll be at home in Italy Farm Stay! I highly recommend it to anyone.
