I came back to Stresa after a while, I wanted to stay in Luina as a habit, and I realized that it is no longer the same and not because of the availability of rooms.

It's gone.

We had chosen this small boarding house (only 7 rooms) due to the good & poor traffic location in one of the old town side streets and the proximity to the promenade/public boat launch (1-2 min.) as well as the affordable price and were not disappointed! At our request we were given a double room on the top, second floor; one should still be able to drag his suitcase up the steep stairs. The room was sufficiently large and well furnished and also had a furnished balcony towards the street (with some small shops) as well as a well-darkened roller coaster. The mattresses are very nice, the hot showers are handy, the bathroom is thin, the morning shower is clean! The Italian bathroom was also open for the rest of the week, and unfortunately we did not have to watch the rest of the day in the basement of the hotel.

Good location in the quieter part of the old town, clean and cheap

Ask Cattia, the owner of Albergo Luina, about her ingenious credit scam. She takes the credit card to hold your reservation, then when you pay in cash upon arrival, she still charges the credit card after you leave.

She even admitted her scam to me in an email and would not refund any money nor offer a credit card refund! She would not cooperate with the credit card company.

All visitors stay away from this devious, unethical, professional scam!

Albergo Luina credit card scam -- beware!

Two friends and I arrived in Stresa with no plans of where to stay. We asked the waitress of a bar we were at what she would recommend who then called the owner of Hotel Luina and directed us there. We arrived to a warm reception and a discount on our room (it ended up cheaper than any place on either booking.com or AirBnb) on the top floor with our own balcony in the middle of town near the beach front. Could not have had a better experience! Thank you!

Friendly, fantastic service and room!

Great location, very comfortable, strategic location for the boatman, very close to both the station and the various points of interest, comfortable and equipped room, very kind to the owner, definitely to recommend, especially for a touch and escape to Stresa

Superheated

To be a two-star hotel this small hotel really has everything, it is located in the center and two steps from the sidewalk, the rooms are certainly dated but clean and do not lack the private balcony and the TV. The bed is also comfortable.Certainly there are some flaws, the wifi in our room did not take, the TV channels received are 4, the shower has no box but a more uncomfortable tent, the thin walls make hope in the education of the neighbor. But it is also true that you cannot claim to enter the hotel and find all the conveniences of your home.

Very pleasant experience

Bridge 25 April at this small hotel located almost across the lake and island ferry, in a pedestrian and quiet area. Simple and clean rooms with all comfort and good homemade cuisine! Mrs Cattia excellent housewife offers advice and information Thank you to you and your staff!

A pleasant stay

The rooms are not huge, but they are quite enough for us. All we needed were very comfortable beds. Everything was lightning-clean. And most of all: since it can get quite cold at Lake Maggiore in the spring and evening, we enjoyed the pleasant warmth in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Small, simple, solid, friendly

When you are greeted with extreme cordiality, enthusiasm and sympathy, it is natural to leave the maximum score for a hotel even if a simple 2 stars. Room taken at the last second on the spot, honest price for a New Year's Eve, room super hot and clean, excellent location, maximum time to leave the room (and after a long excursion it is a great thing to be able to get back into the room before leaving).

Kindness from five stars

We spent two nights in this hotel, the owner is kind and sunny outside the city, we felt at home.
