Port Antonio

The room was lovely, very Caribbean feel with the shuttered windows which I love. Everything was new, clean and bright. Fantastic bathroom and shower. Lovely bed. Communal kitchen area fully equipped. Lovely flowers on site. Gated and safe. Hostess was respectful of our privacy. Definitely recommended and hope I can stay there again. Thank you for the lovely stay.

A tranquil spot yet close to everything

Our third stop on our backpacking trip through Jamaica. The room was very clean, spacious and the garden very beautiful. A small community kitchen with refrigerator and cooking area invites self-service. A meal is not offered. For shopping we went to Port Antonio. With the route taxis you can get to the city cheaply. Also excursions to the beaches go very well with these taxis. Frenshman's Cove was for us the most beautiful beach and the most beautiful bay in all of Jamaica. Entrance costs. But also the rather local beach Winnifred Beach was very beautiful. In the little beach there is a lot of music! We liked it, some others might like it, because the music sometimes even runs all night long.

A beautiful room in a beautiful garden

On August 6th, we booked Search-Me-Heart. My boyfriend and I knocked at the door several times however, no one answered.  Finally, one of the men from the bar up the street saw us and decided to help us.  He stood at the end of the fence and called out to the owner who resided in the back.  Five minutes later, she opened the gate.  
She quickly mentioned she did not receive our reservation.  I mentioned that I had the reservation on my phone if she needed to see it.  She repeated two more times that she had not received our reservation.  I got the impression from her demeanor that she did not want us there.  
She took our temperatures and argued that our temperatures were 25 degrees and abnormal.  I took a digital thermometer from my purse and took my temperature, which registered 37 degrees Celsius which is normal.  She told me my temperature was too high.  I did not respond and politely asked to see the room.  
The room was extremely hot so we asked her for a portable fan.  She then spouted out, “What do you expect for $65USD a night?  I did not advertise air-conditioning”.  I asked for a refund because it did not appear she wanted us there and she then spouted insults toward me.  I left her property and booked at Match Hotel.

I do not recommend this property.  If you are a person of colour, please do yourself a favour and spend your money somewhere else.  Preferably locally owned where they will treat you better.  


Beware of Nasty Hostess

Our room is beautiful and the possibility of having you cook breakfast in the common kitchen. kind, friendly, available, excellent driver and dispatcher of advice, O'Neil, whom we thank for everything. The only small flaw... to which you soon get used to... is the noises of the neighborhood... but they are rewarded by the comfort and cleanliness of the room and all the accommodation.

It's like home.

We booked this apartment via Booking, and after arriving in Port Antonio with the collective taxis purely Jamaican (experience not to be missed) that departed from Montego Bay and made a stop at Ocho RIOS to get to Port Antonio, we reached the location of PEPPERS via a taxi. Near our apartment you could reach by taxi beaches and very beautiful, THE RETURNERS TO PORT ANTONIO NEWAMENTE, the most tropical and Caribbean part of Jamaica.

Cozy and quiet in a tropical nature and serenity.

Search me heart is really the right place! I arranged the vacation for myself and my girlfriend, without relying on any agency, and this had given me some confusion since everyone always told me about Jamaica as a pretty dangerous country. I totally reconsidered. This part of Jamaica, in my opinion, is a very quiet area where you can walk around without an escort. Search me heart was the cherry on the cake and Rosanna was the best person we could meet, you can always count on her, listen carefully to her advice so that you can avoid the tricks that tourists have but above all follow her directions on places to visit, it will make you discover the sides of Jamaica that you can't wait to see on the eastern side of Santa Claus!

The right place!

Having been at an all inclusive resort for the previous five days, coming to Search-Me-Heart immediately felt like home. O’Neil had driven us there and then showed us around. Set right in the middle of Drapers, it was just far enough from the main road to make it quiet, yet in the middle of it all. Our room with a small porch looking at the back yard was lovely. The bed was comfortable and everything was spotless. The bathroom with a large shower and hot water was much appreciated at the end of a hot day at the beach. The common kitchen area was well equipped and had a good sized refrigerator for your food and Red Stripe! WiFi was strong and consistent too. 
The vibe of being in Drapers is so real. The sounds of barking dogs, and reggae music at night, and the many roosters crowing in the morning, will truly be missed. The people of Drapers are very friendly and fun to chill with. Claudia’s and Woody’s were both delicious and within close walking distance. There are also a few more restaurant/bars quite close too. Although expensive, Bush Bar was just beautiful and had amazing food. 
All of the great beaches are within a short walk or taxi ride, and are the best beaches that I’ve seen in Jamaica.
Rosanna was a great host and a pleasure to talk to. She can recommend places to eat and set up excursions too. O’Neil is very nice, a great driver and full of so much useful info about the area. Thanks Marlene for keeping everything so clean and fresh! 
We would really love to spend a few weeks at Search-Me-Heart in the future and that can’t be soon enough!

Pure Bliss

At search me heart we spent unforgettable days and got to know a wonderful part of Jamaica, so I won't go into detail about how beautiful, clean and well maintained the guest house is (FAVOLOSA!!), it's the atmosphere that won us over! The property is immersed in a beautiful tropical garden, which we enjoyed fully from our green patio, with plants and fruit trees and especially exceptional meals! On foot we reach Frenchman Cove, a minimarket and Woodie's; to move to the other beaches and Port Antonio just wait for a taxi on the street. Search me is in an ideal location, although your restaurant can always be found nearby Woodie's, the best tried in Port Antonio.

It's fabulous!

Beautiful and super cozy in the most beautiful part of Jamaica. The rooms are spacious, clean, everything was perfect. Very close to the most beautiful beaches. Great location. Rosanna's advice was really very helpful. Thank you!

The best in Jamaica

This place is immaculate, very chilled out and confortable. Few minutes walking to the Frenchmen cove and a ride (by route taxi) to all the main highlights of the area. There is a small market 5 minutes walking and an amazing burger place in front of it (Woody). Rosanna and O'Neil are very kind and nice people, providing with tips and trying to accommodate your needs. O'Neil is a very good driver and available to drive you around if you required. We already miss this peaceful place!

Few days per weeks (most likely Saturday and Sunday) there is very loud music from the bar close by. It was not an issue for us and indeed it was nice to grab a beer there.
