It's the worst my family has ever had to live with, the attention of the staff is terrible, my mom is an elderly person and she asked for a room that wasn't so far from the elevator because she can't walk, the tacit answer is no more: it's what there is and if she wants it can be canceled. another of the workers almost beat my brother because I spent 15 minutes sitting in the beach chairs, without any courtesy or respect, telling him that if she had to take the car, my mom was insulting and my brother was fighting, the other day they were asked for a chair from the elevator so we could have it in the beach area and if they denied it, but then there were other people and they said, since they arrived, that a third person from my brother's 50 year old family could make a bad personal note that they wanted to go to the hotel, because they wanted to go to the hotel, and I'm sure that no one should have to change their minds about it, and I'd recommend that they put the pictures in front of the hotel, and that they should not be able to sell their own pictures.

HOTEL DEL TERROR is the name of the hotel.

A place where one breathes tranquility and romance, a pity that it is not given proper maintenance is a fabulous place that requires investment, the staff was treated very kindly, unfortunately the furniture of the hotel has already seen the passing of the years, there were rooms that seemed abandoned. Undoubtedly the investment required is quite strong.

A wonderful place full of history.

The rooms smell horrible, if the bathroom closes at bedtime, the elevator is not served, the TV is not working, says the staff; no cable is paid). no air conditioning account. really don't spend your money at the worst hotel CALETA.

The worst of all.

Caleta Beach Resort is a very old hotel. The rooms are the same. The cleanliness of the rooms and the quality of the cleaning is also not high. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. For the same money you can find more comfortable options.

The doubtful option

I was there 3 years ago and there was nothing I could do with it now rooms in bad condition furniture without doors or drawers without TV and the air doesn't work and before you had a way to the beach and then you have to go out on the street and then enter the beach.

I was feeling better.

We had a hard weekend, the hotel service was really bad, in one room there were 5 people and only 2 towels were given to us. Ahhh! but that if you charge the accommodation per person, no air conditioning, the beds (one mattress over the other), the ventilator almost goes down because it wasn't fixed and the service to the room (entry to see if the room was occupied), no matter which hotel you stayed in. Imagine, in the closet there was not a single hook to hang you, the staff was rude, as if you were asking for a gift.

The hotel

Two years ago, my family stayed at this hotel and told us about the wonders of its gardens, its swimming pools, especially the salt flats and shared rooms. We made the mistake of choosing this hotel as the family trip again, only to realize the poor quality of the service. When we arrived we were late about 3 hours in waiting due to a group who arrived first and who preferred, even though we had reservations. When they finally waited for us, they gave us a room shared on the top floor, with the dismantled elevator that only reaches the third floor, my grandmother couldn't afford to pay for the family trip again, and Cale combined with the tremendous personal heat. When we arrived at the hotel we discovered that we were staying in a very good condition and that we could not wait until we had a few hours, but we found that one of the rooms was closed, and that one of the rooms was ventilated, and that one of the rooms was ventilated, and that one of the rooms had to be rented, and that one of the two rooms had to be rented, and that one of the hotel had to

It's a landmark place, a hotel with its best days in the past. It used to be a guesthouse for celebrities. It's now mostly a holiday destination for locals. It's a huge room, quite clean. It's old furniture.

A hotel from the past.

The Caleta is one of the grand old hotels of Acapulco, one of the first available in the heart of Old Acapulco, where the whole resort sprang up from. In fact in the dining room there are some fascinating photos of the hotel taken from the 1930's through to the 1970's that show how it grew over the years, and Acapulco with it.
We arrived here having fled from a nearby hotel that was just unacceptable, and it seemed like an oasis in comparison. After two days staying here one could see more clearly its flaws, it's a hotel that needs some TLC, but for us it really did the job - a place to flop down after a long day on the beach with the kids, a spectacular view from our room (really and truly an unbeatable vista I defy you not to relax with a beer out on your balcony), a shower that works, and a kitchenette to prepare snacks and breakfasts. Just what we wanted.
We got a really good rate to stay here from room touts nearby that work the plaza just as you turn into Caleta beach. The walk-up rate was around 80 dollars for a double room, but the room touts were offering the same for around 45. I checked it all out with the hotel beforehand and it's all legit, the "mayoristas" block-book rooms at a much cheaper rate and sell them on at a modest profit. Plus they come to the check-in desk while you book and pay, which was reassuring. And this hotel was good value at 45 dollars, but I'd have been less happy with the hotel if I'd paid 80 dollars.
There are just two types of room. Standard has two double beds, a balcony and bathroom, and the one I saw looked perfectly acceptable. They also have suites, which are two standard rooms knocked together, that is, they have four double beds split between two bedrooms, a bigger balcony, two full bathrooms and in middle a small kitchenette with fridge and microwave and a few utensils. And they charge exactly double for the suite (ie. we paid 90 dollars). These suites are *huge*, two king size beds are swallowed up by each bedroom easily - a big family group of 10 or 16 could fit in fine and not be treading on each other toes, just bring a few inflatable mattresses and folding chairs and you're away. The downside is that they are a little shabbier than the double rooms I saw, but not by much, just be sure to check your suite before checking in. Also the air-con was hopeless in our suite, but the rooms are so big we didn't find it a problem.

Hotel facilities:
Swimming pool: Good size, deep with a roped off shallow end for the kiddies. It was clean, although all around the pool gets hot in the sun, you need sandals to walk around it. Noisy (sometimes annoying) music played all day, but this is normal for any Mexican family hotel.
Salt water pool: Closed for renovation, and that looked like it could take some time...
Bar: Pool-side bar
Restaurant: Nothing-special meals but good value if you go for the set menu (and are plenty hungry). Spectacular view from restaurant.
Gardens: Very pleasant and well kept.
Squash court: open air, didn't try it but it looked OK from outside.
Private beach: Not a beach at all but a rocky cove, good for escaping the crowds but not exactly an inviting place to spend your time. Not good for kids.

Best of all you have a small path beating down to Caleta beach which is the best beach in Acapulco for children, especially youngsters, gentle waves, no currents and the rest of the beach will be full of other kiddies for them to play with. Rent umbrellas and chairs for 
small fee, take a bottle of water with you and enjoy the fun! There are restaurants along the beach, La Cabaña is the best, the rest are run by a collective (that is, no point shopping around for lunch, they all charge the same and not much less than La Cabaña). Waiters patrol the beach and will bring you food and beers all day. Very relaxing.

Final tips: weddings, events etc take place on the bay side of the hotel, which can be noisy and last well into the night. If you want peace and quiet, get a room towards the Caleta bay end of the hotel. You'll also be away from the noisy pool area. The higher the room, the further from the mosquitos you are.

To sum up:

Good points: Huge suites, acceptable doubles, unpretentious, good pool, bargain if you can negotiate a decent rate
Bad points: Shabby in parts, average restaurant, steep climb from beach, a three-star hotel at best.

Interesting, great views, massive suites, but needs renovation

We spent our new year's eve holidays in this hotel. We booked a room for 4 people. 
The room was very spacious, clean and quiet. We had a spacious private balcony with incredible views on the ocean, perfect for breakfast and to watch the sunset. The hotel has 2 good size pools and a restaurant. 

Caleta beach is on the doorstep of the hotel. You can also take a boat from there to go to the rocket island. But you would need to take the car to go to other beaches or to go to the city centre. 

Downsides: You can' adjust the air conditionning yourself, you need to contact reception. There was no safe-deposit box in our bedroom. Because of the traffic, each journey to the city centre took around 30 minutes (probably because of the high season).
