I booked a private room and bathroom, and it was well worth the extra. 
The room was just across the road from the main hostel, which means the space is very private, with a communal kitchen and lovely outdoor patio /seating areas. Room was large and cool in the hot weather, and very comfortable. Very clean, nice decor and housekeeping was excellent.
Huge plus are the many tours offered by the hostel also, in particular the Tuesday 'Lucha Libre' Trip, with an excellent guide, Sergio.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful, and I would definitely stay here again!

It was a pleasant experience. good service from the entrance and the people are very friendly, they recommend places and are always on the lookout. lss very comfortable areas. it is also very cozy and has a lot of style in each place. a place to recommend.

 Unique location

Book a private room and the truth fascinated me.The price is affordable for the location of the place, it is only 3 blocks from the Cathedral.Clean, tidy and best of all I loved its decoration.I highly recommend it. :)

Great big rooms, comfy beds, plenty of common areas, big kitchen, great breakfast, even has cable tv! The staff were also most obliging in picking up my  repaired glasses from a nearby shop when I was unable to, couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful!

Great hostel, everything you could want

The building where the private rooms are located is themed with the names of Mexican film directors such as Alfonso Cuaron, Guillermo del Toro, Iñarritu, and Chespirito. We arrived on a Monday morning before check-in, but fortunately our room was ready to be occupied. We assigned the room Costopirito, which is in conflict with the hotel's chapel at the entrance of the room, and accessories within the arena that are available to the usual room.

A quiet hostel, with comfort, yet a night of tremendous mosquitoes. But the staff, put anti-mosquitoes, so you can apply on the skin. Rich breakfast, and normal. Clean bathrooms but a lot of heat builds up. They offer tours that you can take if you're interested. There are a number of games to entertain you.

Calm down 

Very good option in the center, cheap, 230 pesos, arrived without reservation. 8 bedroom with small balcony, too bad you can smoke on the balcony, because the smells come in...

Perfect location.

In a place like this, it is natural to pay attention to light and water, a large common space, but always very quiet in the evening/night hours Comfortable in the centre There are a lot of organized activities and France, the reception girl, is very available to meet all requests.

I have stayed here twice and would probably stay again if I am looking to stay in the Centro Historico area of GDL. First time, I stayed in a dorm. The second time, I stayed in a pvt room (all pvt rooms are located right across the street). The pvt room building is nicely laid out and has a kitchenette, a hangout area and shared bathroom (very clean).

Good:
Location - right in the center, the main street with lots of restaurants and stores.
Safety - safe hostel (not the area). Stayed here twice without any issues.
Staff - friendly
Atmosphere - not great, compared to other hostels I've stayed (in London, Barcelona, etc). The common room has a pool table and a few games available. I would say the atmosphere is 'alright'.
Free breakfast - kudos. Saves you some money.
Amenities - free wifi in all areas of the hostel (rooms, common areas, etc). Bedding and towels available for free. Lockers available in all rooms (bring your own locks). Clean place overall. Pub crawls and walking tours available.

Not So Good:
The area "Centro Historico" is not the safest area of Guadalajara. Althought I stayed here twice with no problems at all. For someone wanting to stay in the center of everything, this hostel is the best option.
The atmosphere can be a bit better. The lights were dim in the evening and the common area felt dead even though there were people hanging out there. The pool table is old and worn out, needs refurbishing.

OVERALL, a good, safe and friendly place to stay offering good value for the money.

Very good experience, very kind and friendly in reception, attentive to our needs with all the attitude of helping, very good the spacious and clean room! if I visit Guadalajara again I will definitely book here again!!
