The rooms are cozy and pleasant. It was a surprise to find such great rooms compared to the reception area and tables next to the pool which are old, dirty, and need an urgent remodeling. The pool looks inviting at first sight, but once you get into the water is extremely cold, has no heat and considering the climate in Tapalpa, it’s necessary! The bikes available for rental are too old and it looks they haven’t  received service for Long time. There’s only two people in charge, the receptionist and the waiter, who is also the bartender, the waiter at the pool, the man who rents the kayaks, ( which are old and broken) , he does everything in there. You can see the owner in the morning having breakfast at the small restaurant but he isn’t worried for the guests!  It’s a pity, they could have this hotel in a much better condition. 

Rooms nice but hotel too old and careless

This is my fourth time at this family hotel...... and it's incredible that after 3 years I still have the same peak-time service..... incredible that yesterday Friday, July 30, 2021 while the partners are eating here, they still don't realize that they need to hire more meseros (two and one assistant for all the tables, for bar service and for the fire area) They built more rooms but no more personal contracts, imagine that the same person who is in the lobby reception right now had to come to take the order from Buffett's assistant, and so on and so forth, and we are only 3 tables A hotel where you come to relax has to be perfect, without the need to leave the three and the food is at the letter and I'm not paying for this, but I'm not sure this is a good place to have changed the room and the service is perfect, but I'm sure that I'll be able to find the best places to stay in the hospital tomorrow, but I'm sure that I'll be able to find the best places to stay in the hospital tomorrow, because I'm sure that I'll be back and I'll be

From the room you can have a beautiful view of the lake. and its green areas provide a space of tranquility and well-being. the rooms are complete and in good style. the general service was very good.

Hermosa vista al lago

From the water and on its website, the hotel El Remanso seems to be a neat place. The photographs, however, don't match the current state of the facilities. I stayed with my family for two nights and in conclusion, if it wasn't located in front of the dam, the place wouldn't be worth it. This means that the hotel itself is not worth what it costs. One of the aspects of the stay that bothered me the most was that the activities are not included and I got the feeling that almost anything has an extra cost, even though in the surrounding area there are better hotels and cheaper ones.

The view from the dam is all that's worth it.

Excellent hotel the service and the recommendations of the employer Ricardo were very good for our stay, an excellent place to relax and get lost for a moment in the forest.

It was the first and last time we visited this hotel. The state of the hotel is deplorable, the total lack of maintenance, the roofs of the halls filled with moisture, the lamp of the old room staircase, the rotor, the powder, the terrace divided by the adjacent room with an old, yellow, improvised canvas, the wooden chairs on the lake shore, old roads, full of bird droppings that have not been cleaned or maintained for months.

It's disappointing!

A 4 seems generous to me, but a 3 would be unfair to the kindness of the staff and the season of the chef. A place that had been recommended to me and that the page makes it seem unforgettable. The access is not difficult, the rooms are comfortable and amenities are good. For the cost, a mini bar is needed and the safety box is functioning. The drawer is poorly designed, the water goes out to the rest of the mini bathroom. The toilet is elevated and makes it uncomfortable to use. Especially children, the space is lacking. The views are very good, the pillows are comfortable, the hammock is appreciated. The kitchen is VERY heavy. Bringing towels and for all weather is essential. The lack of toiletries and toiletries is essential. The place is very nice and the customers who are the ones who serve all the time provide very good service. The suites are nice but small. The food is not in the best season. The way to get there is not as loud as it was painted in some comments.

Beautiful but overrated!

I went with my family in December 2018, we had some difficulties getting there as it is located about 20 minutes from Tapalpa, walking down the road looking for the hotel the sign of the building is not visible and very suddenly the turn, the road is terraced about 5 minutes in very bad condition. The facilities and atmosphere surrounding the hotel is luxurious, is the ideal to go for a total rest, away from all civilization, the special service of the 6 star hotel owner is a fortune for the hotel owners.

Total rest, but...

In fact, expectations were very high for the pictures of the hotel posted on its page, stating that it is a hotel belonging to the Treasury of Mexico and thereby justifying its fare and occupancy, which is totally illogical since in a room with 2 double beds only 2 adults and/or a child in a tapanco, we were forced to reserve 2 rooms for 4 adults, it is a cold and more comfortable place in this era then it is more convenient to have more people in a room to mitigate it because apart from its electric heaters that are insured to the wall do not reach the room heating, which they do, but we have to buy externally dark because the wood is wet and not enci.
