Our friends were looking at booking here next week but we advised them not to stay. The noise from their new terrace is horrendous. Everyone we know is complaining about the noise. We are staying across the road and can't open the windows or sit on the balcony. Please dont book here.

Avoid

The night watchman didn't know we had booked by a very well-known travel site - he had us visit two very unusual rooms - noise and smell in the corridors not very clean - we preferred to go elsewhere, very poorly elevated and unpleasant

Go look somewhere else!

I booked almost last minute and as I was staying there with a local friend, we preferred to be somewhere we could prepare light meals etc. This was a very good value accommodation and perfectly placed for both of us as we had separate engagements during the day. The guys at the reception were ok, one better than the other. The maid kept the room clean during our stay and was pleasant to be around, helpful when we needed additional towels. I have to say that I became very fond of the ´Tweetie-bird´ blanket on my bed!! Unfortunately the cooker was not in a working order so meal preparation went out of the window - it was actually a blessing in disguise as in the immediate vicinity on the street were several excellent restaurants and snack bars of a good value. Thinking about it now, why go on a short break and spend time cooking?? 
I would have no hesitation in staying again in Asaka, however I have stayed in places in Agadir that I like better and come at a similar cost.

Budget stay

With my wife and two friends we arrived to find the self-catering apartment we'd booked not ready, but were given two separate rooms overnight with the promise of the apartment the following day. The rooms were fine, and the apartment was great - 2 bedrooms with twin beds and A/C, one of which had couches to form a sitting room, and each with a terrace. A good sized shower room, and a reasonably equipped dining kitchen with a single burner stove completed the set-up. Comfortable, cleaned daily and our beds made for us! The residence is over a small supermarket (Anaprix) which provided most of our food and drink needs, although we ate out most nights at one or other of the many restaurants nearby. Scampi, and excellent restaurant, is just across the main road, and the Hotel Kamal, a stone's throw away and where we've stayed on previous visits, has a quiet bar for non-residents. Even though our rooms faced a main road and we were over a supermarket noise was not a problem. The residence is well placed for both the town and the beach, although you'll probably need transport if you want to visit the souk. Free car parking was on the quiet side-road outside the residence. The reception is manned 24 hours with very helpful staff who speak French and Arabic - little English. The only minor problem we had was that the shutter in our bedroom was stuck and we had to pile cushions in front to keep out the morning sunlight(!), but we did enjoy our stay there, and would probably stay again if we're in the area.
