We stayed in a double room with private bathroom, cozy place, nice atmosphere, nice staff and absolutely beautiful roof with a view of the city! 
Would recommend, it is situated in a nice place near the most touristic parts of the medina ( :

Cozy place

The hostel is well located, close to the medina, the rooms are fine but I think it's a bit expensive for Moroccans to be without breakfast, the common areas are very small and dark, so there is no friendly atmosphere, the kitchen has a key and there are very few showers, plus the girl at the reception only spoke Arabic and it was very difficult to communicate with her, the only thing I can say is that they printed my plane tickets and didn't charge me.

Extremely rude, unfriendly staff who made us feel unwelcome. Staff also spoke little to no english.

Beds are uncomfortable. 

Free breakfast is not actually included, neither is the tea / coffee making facilities.

Terrible

I was walking from the bus station when I crossed Hostal La Joya and decided to stop in and see if they had a room. They did and after a quick chat with the owner we settled on a two night stay and maybe more. He and his staff are very friendly and helpful. After walking around that first day I realized that I had left my kindle on the bus. The owner called but had no luck tracking it down. The next day he followed up with them and it had been found.  He arranged to have it brought back to the hotel all for just a 50 DH taxi ride. Excellent service. 

Great location and staff

In general, the room was what we expected, a double bed and a small closet with shared bathroom.We arrived early in the morning because we came by bus (the only way to get to the city by non-private transport) and the reception was not the best (we woke up the boy).However, the next day we were greeted by a man who spoke Spanish very well and told us what we could visit.They have a terrace that is a gift (overlooking the mountains) and in which one can relax and take in the night air.The location is great, 2 minutes from the medina.

Hello everyone,
I am writing this comment to make sure no one goes through the same nightmare I went through me and my friend. Last week we travelled me and french friend to chefchaoun . We did like everybody we checked “tripadvisor/booking” . Than we found this hostal . we booked our rooms and everything was alright. At midnight , I went out in the terrasse to smoke a cig and here a guy comes and tell me to stop smoking because there families . i explained to the guy that I am sorry and I am fare away from there room so they don’t smell the smoke. 15 min later the guy comes kick me out after trying to fight me ( actually he attacked me once outside the hostal) . 
What is more choking is that my friend lost the 150 euros that she had in her wallet while her wallet was in closed  box provided by the hostal.
The guys of the hostal have the camera videos of the 11/08/2018 they can show u how “GOOD” they behave with there costumers.
And lets not talk about how clean r the beds in this hostal .

I am disgusted 

We had ticks and bed bugs in our beds, and there’s blood all over the sheets.
Generally noisy environment. 
The hostel workers didn’t know what they were doing (booked our room for someone else after we had already extended one night). And the bathrooms looked like a scene from a horror movie ( light switches coming off the all, broken toilets - flush wasn’t working either-, water everywhere and no toilet paper or hand soap)

In a nutshell, this place should be shut down!

Stay away - horrible hostel

If you have an EXTREMELY ELVED spirit of accommodation then you can also stay in this hostel. The location is excellent but very dirty, both the rooms and the bathrooms, there is no room linen, no towels. Unfortunately there is not always someone present at the reception, I had to wait a couple of hours before someone came to show me what my room was so I could put my luggage down. The staff is extremely kind, nothing to laugh at. Breakfast is served on the ground floor of the facility but unfortunately the poor cleaning of the place ruins the whole atmosphere a little bit. For one night you can sacrifice, given the cost and availability of wifi and breakfast.

Just for the location.

The stuffmembers are friendly with english talking is no Problem at all, the rooms are Clean as the Rest from the Hostel!!!!
The terrace is big and U have a nice View in the Mountains.
I will Comeback for sure and for every Backpacker or Hostel Friend i defenetly recommend this Hostel!!!
Fair prices, friendly helpfull and very competent stuffmembers. And a very good Atmosphäre... What u need more!! Dont forget ist is a Hostel and Not a 5 star overpriced hotel..... I Love that place.


Only positive expiriences

The hostel is well situated and the beds are comfortable but the staff are rude and cold and it's very difficult to communicate with them and they get angry quickly when we don't understand... several posters indicate that a breakfast can be offered, but when asked, we indicate that there is no...
