Stayed at Burning Shore for 3 days, check in was a bit of a issue as I arrived at 10pm and no one was around had to go looking for staff. breakfast is limited and kitchen staff cannot coupe and don't seem to know what they are doing as on my last day they did not prepare any breakfast and brought me a menu, I ordered and over an hour later still nothing eventually walked out, I would suggest avoiding the restaurant as it dose not seem clean. room was a bit dark and dingy with a small window shower over looks onto a common area and the room i stayed in room 1 is located next to one of the hotels public bathroom and is very noisy overall there are better hotels in the area and this is definitely not a 4 star hotel and there is no air-conditioner

In need of paint and a revamp

We recently booked room for family of 4 at the hotel. We booked the hotel thinking we would get Marriott quality but the owners changed hands beginning of May. The rooms on the first floor are too hot to stay in - the heat is unbearable. None of us were able to sleep at night. Best to avoid until they get some air conditioning and upgrade their infrastructure.

Rooms too hot to stay in 

The hotel is okay, excellent location (between Sakup and walvis), facing the ocean. If you like to sleep and wake up listening to the waves is a very nice choice.

Good points: nice and friendly staff, very good breakfast (few options but really tasteful), quite and good internet (my trip was in business).

The infrastructure is okay for a ~15 rooms hotel. Some prefer because is cozy and quiet.

I do recomendo.

My tip for you: ask to be installed on room 5 (:-)).



Magnific Landscape

The location is ok since you are between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund but this hotel has seen better days! It wants to be a Boutique Hotel but it doesn't quite make it. The room we had was huge but everything felt like nobody is really taking care of it. The beach in front of the hotel is nice but you can't swim. Too rocky and too many sharks! The hotel itself is a in a residential neighbourhood with big but empty villas and no charms at all. It felt like staying in suburbia.

Good and bad...

For a well-known chain, a sign of poverty, we almost felt like we were bothering at the reception, and then the next thing we knew, we didn't hang the Don't bother sign out, but when we got back, we went to the door to save some cleaning, bathroom and shower not cleaning cleaning cleaning and full of sand from the previous one.

Staff is unfriendly and incompetent

It was a wonderful place. We stayed there for 4 days. Room service was very good. The only negative point is the menu. There are not much of a variety.  So if you stay to long one have to eat the same food. There are no other restaurant nearby.

To put it in perspective, we decided not to stay in this hotel after spending an hour here. The location and the superficial appearance look great with the fact and the supposed quality promise that Brangelina once spent a while here, we had high expectations of this hotel. We were three on the way and we were offered a small apartment as a single room and the large former star-apartment as a double room. The location and the superficial appearance look great with the large balcony right over the beach and the large spaces. If you don't look closely at how you got down and walked back to this hotel.

Too bad to be true

Reservation made in the rules, confirmed by the hotel, copies of the documents sent. We are on 31 December, in Swakopmund it is the equivalent of the 15th bus in France, so everything is full! Arriving at the hotel around 6:00 pm, they refuse to give me my room, which was rented to another client in the meantime, claiming that the reservation was valid until 5:00 pm! you can check on all the booking sites, the rooms are available from 14:00 to 0:00 am. So I'm on the street, thankfully that friends on the street were able to drop me off otherwise I was sleeping on the street. To avoid the hotel at all, not serious in any dishonest limit.

It's not right!

The rooms in this hotel are very beautiful... fresh sheets, coffee machine, enchanting wide ocean views. The elegant furnishings are inspired by the sea. We really felt it was the right place to rest. We really felt it was a good place to rest. The rooms are right on the beach - perfect for a walk on the sand, in complete tranquility. The reception is friendly, and there is a large selection of maps etc. on offer. The breakfast staff was friendly and the breakfast was simple and tasty... the whole thing, the only morning (when we checked out) he was asleep, so we made breakfast late. But this is Africa, so you have fun, so have fun and activity.

Great views, nice place to relax, slow service, but it's Africa.

With high expectations, we arrived at the Protea Hotel Burning Shore on Longbeach between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund (about 20km away) and wanted to give us two days of recreation in the middle of our round trip through Namibia - the Burning Shore is considered a Nobel accommodation and is still a term for Namibians themselves in the distant Etosha National Park. Unfortunately, however, the stars have been burned for a long time. The reception, which is hard to recognize as such, was not prepared on our request despite minimal use.
