We stayed in the Apartment for 3 night arriving on Fri 2nd June and were checked in in minutes by the very efficient staff.
The apartment is very high spec, very well equipped, very clean and well thought out. The WiFi is strong and more than fast enough. 

The location is PERFECT in Alkmaar being less than 2 minutes walk from the main square and inside the pedestrian only zone.

It is walking distance the mainline Station and the local bus depot (we took the local bus to the seaside at Egmond aan Zee on Sunday, only €2.90 and less than half an hour ride)

All in all a WONDERFUL experience,  I'd go as far as to say faultless!! Well done guys!!!

Great location, great staff... An absolute joy +++

Excellent reception by owner who guided us through the busy streets of Alkmaar to the hotel parking on King’s day.
Very pleasant and helpful husband-wife team running the operation. Clean, spacious and updated accommodations. Great location in the center of old Alkmaar. The staircases could be a problem for those with disabilities or for those who have indulged too much in the local brew, otherwise it is not an issue. Would definitely go back.

Great experience in a beautiful city

We had booked several apartments and had already made a large deposit. However, due to Corona, it was not possible to leave Switzerland because the borders were closed. We tried to find a solution for everyone by phone with the landlord. However, there was no rebooking and she also refused to pay back the money, although the amount will be refunded legally when the border closes MUST. During the phone call, the landlord's husband took off her earpiece and yelled at me. He simply put the earpiece on the earpiece with the phrase: The conversation is over with this. Further attempts to reach the landlord by phone failed. They no longer turn off the earpiece. I would never turn off the earpiece and turn off the earpiece again.

Respect - felt cheated - landlord shameless

A stay planned for May 2020 should be postponed to the next year after consultation with the landlord. This possibility was not, however, from the outset, which was only later revealed by the landlord. The result: the holiday could never take place, the deposit was nevertheless retained. Shocking was the increasingly unfriendly communication from the landlord.

Be careful, no vacation and no money!

During the Corona era, our family meeting could not be held as planned in the booked apartments. The landlord agreed to a rental, knowing that she had already rented her apartments for the next two years. Instead of paying us back our money, she had the triviality to offer us three other apartments on the same terms without mentioning that the replacement apartments only had three instead of six bedrooms. Total withdrawals. Our money was not paid back, although she could offer us a replacement date for the booked room category. In trying to find a fair settlement for both patients by phone, the listener was simply turned on.

Withdrawal without a bad conscience

We stayed in Familie hotel for a month and it was our most horrible stay! Housekeeping was only once a week and quite poor but they do expect you to clean rooms very tidy! The owner sent me letters (see attachment) and sms with complaints about 'not clean' apartment. In the middle of the day I could get a message: "When you will be back? I need to talk to you about the situation in your apartment". I believe it's very unethical and unprofessional to make any comments of this nature while we are staying in the hotel. After two weeks we started receiving threats of charging us extra fees for 'damage to the walls.' They said the walls were dirty and flour was sticky. All these accusations were false. In order to prove it one of our agents came to inspect the rooms along with the owners in our last day. The hotel owners checked every corner (walls, furniture, beds, mattresses, etc.) and concluded there weren't any damage and everything was good. Obviously, the owner intended to make extra money by submitting baseless claims. Furthermore, unlike what the name Familie hotel suggests this place is not a family place at all. On several occasions, men would ring our bell by mistake stating that they had an appointment with a girl named ... only to realize that they entered the unit next door for some illegitimate business. We regretted that we didn't call to the police that night!
By the way, we stayed there for so long because they never refund back. Our agent made a mistake buy paying for a whole month in advance. This hotel doesn't meet hotel standards!

Angry owners

Very clean and beautiful modern apartment, hardly central, in the pedestrian zone. We were able to book a parking space for it. Breakfast in the apartment, very lovingly sprinkled in the morning by the rental couple in a windmill. If you have knee problems, it could become somewhat problematic because there is a steep staircase to the apartment and one in the apartment. There is also a nice roof terrace. There are plenty of dining options in the immediate vicinity. Contact with the friendly landlord was always quick and easy.

Week-end leave

We took a room/apartment with 5 friends in this structure. It's not exactly Handicap friendly: you have to climb a steep enough metal ladder.

Comfortable as in your house

I visited Alkmaar for a weekend trip, the hotel owners were very welcoming and were very patient after a flight delay, they were also at hand to help no matter what the problem (my flight home was cancelled and the owners helped me by offering to extend my checkout time and even to print my boarding pass) the room was slightly dated but was very clean and I had my own roof terrace which I asked for in advance. The facilities in the hotel are open to all guests (tea, coffee, cooker, washing machine etc.)
I will definitely be booking again and would recommend this hotel to anyone 

Very welcoming, excellent location 

Just come back from Alkmaar. We stayed in Familie Hotel for 3 nights so we could get to the Liquidity festival. Bob the owner was very welcoming, friendly and approachable. The apartment we had slept four and was perfect. Very spacious with bedroom areas, seating area, shower room and kitchen sink. Reminded me of Ikea. There was also a massive shared seating area and kitchen area with fridge freezer, sink, cutlery, glasses, plates and everything else that you would need. The hotel is in the centre of alkmaar town with a variety of shops, bars and eating areas. Would stay there again. Recommended
