If you are looking for a simple and nice hotel in a great location to the beach, this is ideal. It is almost directly on the beach (about 200 meters walk) and very quiet. It is ideal for trips by bicycle (rental bikes are taken directly to the hotel) or on foot if you just want to walk on the beach. We were very satisfied, there are always little things that you don't like, but on vacation you can look at it. The week was great, the recreation factor was enormous.

Good hotel in great condition

The hotel information states "pets allowed". After booking we informed to make sure our small dog was allowed. The answer was that dogs ware allowed only in some rooms and not allowed in the breakfast room. We could have breakfast in the lobby or on our room only. Which is not an option for us. Please change that information in the description. We cancelled.

Misleading information about pets

We arrived in this hotel a bit early, although there was nobody at the reception, 2 members of staff who sat at the lobby received us with friedndliness and told us that we could go to our bedroom, the room was ready. we were a bit disappointed  that we could not eat in the hotel in the evening, no restaurant facilities, this was our own fault: we did not read carefully! but the people in the lobby gave us tips, where to get a take away. this was not how we had imagined our evening in a hotel at the sea side, but had no choice! we were able to enjoy a delicious fish and chips on the table of the lobby, thankyou!  the room was very clean  with a lovely view to the dunes and a bit of ths sea! super quiet. coffee and thee to enjoy. breakfast was really nice,we talked to the receptionist, she was very helpful and gave us tips. we asked is we could leave our luggage at the reception because our boat was due to leave at 5 pm.this was not a problem! we were also allowed to hang around in the lobby while we waited to go the boat. Because it rainned cats and dogs, this was fantastic news. We took the bus to go to the boat, and discovered, at the moment of walking into the boat, that I had left a small backpack in the hotel! I sent an email immediately, asking if they could send me the bag by post. I got an answer from them, they were going to post it, and this morning I received my small backpack with the post! top service! thank you ever so much and hopefully we will be coming soon!

Well located  few feet from from the beach. Sparking clean and wonderful breakfast. TV, great internet and most of all great helpful staff. Right in the middle of wonderful rolling dunes. Easy biking distance to restaurants.

a gem

We arrived at the hotel by car. There's excellent parking facilities.

The room and the hotel were clean and nice, although the interior of the hotel & rooms could be updated to be a bit more modern.

Breakfast was awesome, great choice of breads and drinks. 

The location close to the beach is perfect. Staff were very nice and helpful to fulfill any additional requests. I would recommend this hotel for staying at Ameland.

Excellent location and breakfast, nice clean hotel

The hotel is located a stone's throw from the beach in the dunes. Our upstairs room with sea view was great. On the wind-protected, small balcony you can enjoy a coffee/tea from the room's own machine, look at the sea and watch the flying gulls pass by. The room was large enough with bed, cupboard and 2 seats. In the double bed we slept well for the 2 nights. The home-owned WiFi worked perfectly. The bathroom was clean. The shower - with light, typical stains in hard-to-reach cracks - had extra massage functions, but which either didn't work or were too complicated to serve.

Everything you need in a great location

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Make sure you let them now if you arrive later than planned otherwise there is no one in hotel. They will leave key for you. Very cosy, room had kitchen as well. Makes you feel at home. Breakfast included.

One night stay

We found that the hotel looked better than the pictures. We had a large balcony with chairs and table and due to the large windows an excellent view of the dunes. We were richt at the beach, there is also a restaurant nearby, but town and shops are a bit further in, about a 10-15 minute walk. The room was modern and comfortable. we liked the double sinks and the rainwater shower. It was great having a fridge and kettle and a few cooking utensils + cultery . The breakfast was super, you could do your own omlette or fried egg and bacon. Guests with dogs eat seperately, which is probably a good idea when it is busy. We could play  a CD and watch our DVD, which was nice, or just sit and enjoy the view.

Pefect for us

The location is unique, the breakfast is very good and all the staff are friendly, unfortunately soft mattresses, otherwise it would have been 5 stars, but for us, the hotel on Ameland, the prices are more than okay.

Top location

On the beach, great for kids and excellent staff! Linda B. you left an impression on my 12 year old son with your kindness and hospitality. You answered all our questions with a smile and made our stay pleasurable. 
The family suite is a great option if you are traveling with kids and you can heat up or cook up a simple meal if you are too tired to head out after a long day at the beach or if you've been cycling around.
