The location is perfect for those who like us when we arrived in the middle of the night, picked up a car from the parking lot and wanted to sleep. It's just a few minutes drive from the parking lot. I enjoyed communicating with the staff, I wrote in advance that we'd be arriving at three o'clock and they were waiting for us. Good parking in the area, in the morning it became clear that the area is also beautiful near the hotel. Pretty good breakfast, with hot dishes, vegetables, fruits and desserts, and of course, for everyone to eat sandwiches.

A good option for a night trip from the airport.

We booked a two person room with single beds, but got a two room thingy with in each room a bed. This wouldn't have been a problem, if the beds weren't so bad. We were practically lying on the bed boards. Everytime we rolled over, the person in the other room could hear the creaking of the bed. The curtains were creatively places at best. Both windows had a roller blind on the smallest part of the window, while two conventional curtains (of which one was about half as long as the other) barely covered the rest. Needless to say, the room was far from darkened.
Hygiene was mediocre at best, the remote for the ancient TV was not working, the sheets and towels were threadbare and just as ancient, and the showerhead had to be held in hand, because otherwise only the wall would get wet. The only positive thing was the quick service of the lady at the desk.

It is bad

We booked a double room with Queensize bed. Without a hint or explanation we got 2 single rooms with community bathroom. On request the girl at the reception said that there would be no other room free. A mistake in booking... When we got to bed in the evening, we were immediately back at the reception. The beds are more than full. The floor would probably have been more comfortable. Now we got a three-bedroom. The beds were also not better but at 11:30 in the middle of nowhere we had no other choice. Well, it was only 2 nights! We're really not very demanding, but if we booked, then we would get this out too! The full price was charged for an unpaid service and there was no excuse, there was no price to pay. it is pretty expensive in Poland standards. But it is really nearby the airport they offer the shuffle, the room was clean and calm. So for one night stay is good and without a problem. There is also a restaurant

Near airoport

The main function of this hotel is to be able to rest before or after the flight, and with this the hotel manages all 100 rooms, convenient low-cost rooms, pleasant surroundings, a nice breakfast, and even free airport delivery. The attention of the staff at the reception desk is above all praise, and it is pleasant when at night the tired visitors are met not only by a polite servant, but also by hot tea. The only drawback is that it is difficult to find this hotel on its own, because only the hotel Villa is written on the signs, and only sometimes the small inscription Iskra is inscribed.

Best option for night flights

The pensjonat is located exactly near the hotel. It has the same reception and dining room. So if you are not looking for a fancy hotel for a quick stay, this is a good place.

The pensjonat is not new, but rooms are clean. The bed is too narrow for a couple. Breakfast is regular and ok. 
There is a free ride to the airport, ask reception.



Great for one night stay near airport

We stayed one night at the Iskra Pension before flying back to Germany from Kattowitz. The rooms were large enough and everything was clean. The lady at the reception was very friendly, helpful and spoke perfectly English. We were allowed to print our tickets there for free. The airport transfer was free and for about 5 euros there was a lunch package for early flyers with coffee, sandwiches, water and fruit as well as a chocolate bar.

I'm going to recommend it unconditionally.

Did a day stay at the hotel because I had 8 hours to kill at the airport. The staff are all friendly and efficient (and speak excellent English), and went out of their way to help. I had an excellent lunch and dinner, a couple of beers, a sleep in the perfectly adequate room, used the very fast free-wifi and got a transfer to the airport (5 minutes away). The cost was about £22. Truly outstanding value. Well done Hotel Iskra.

Outstanding value

We stayed in both the Pensjonat and Hotel Iskra which are right next to each other. The hotel/Pensjonat offers a free one way pick up/drop off service from the airport at anytime of the day or night and you can request additional drop offs for 10 zloty (circa £2 at time of writing). The staff are outstanding. Both receptionists spoke excellent English and their service was impeccable!

The Pensjonat suite (double and a single room) was adequate and well maintained. The bathroom was a fair size and very clean. The bed wasn't the most comfortable that I've slept in (value range at best), but I did sleep!  I wouldn't class in the same range as the hotel, this is the budget option, but for the price, great value for money. Self service Breakfast is served in the adjoining main hotel and was good with a range of choice (hotdog type sausages the only hot option).

Would definitely recommend for short stopovers given the price and closeness to the airport.
