It was a pleasant surprise, well-located, close to the subway station, well-stocked, clean, simple but fair breakfast for the price of the day, cordial service, great price, I'd definitely stay again.

Great cost benefit

We have booked an apartment for 4 people for a night in Lisbon. The apartments are new, well furnished (take care of small details like emergency room, water, coffee and the) and are just a few steps from the centre.

Beautiful Apartments in the Heart of Lisbon

I stayed at the Salitre hostel in October 2016 for just a night with 3 friends of mine. The hostel itself is located pretty good so you can visit most of the city by walking. The staff was really nice and accommodating. We could leave our luggage until we checked in and after we checked out. We stayed in a 4-bed dormitory which had 2 bunk beds in it. The room seemed really clean and tidy. Beds were already made which is a nice bonus to have at a hostel. 
I was happily surprised when looking at the room but this surprise turned into disgust when I decided to take a shower before we went out to see the city. The girls' showers' ceiling is covered in mould. Also the caulks inbetween the tiles were partly mouldy. So I just tried to get the shower over with as quickly as possible.  I talked to the staff if they were aware of the mould and they told me that they're going to renovate their hostel by the end of the year. 
The breakfast is rather small - bread, jam, butter and some cornflakes besides tea, instant coffee and juice. I passed on that and got food that fits my needs. ;)  
If they are going to solve the mould - situation I would definitely stay at the salitre hostel again.

nice staff, good room but mouldy bathroom

The room was very clean, with a great view of the technical courtyard between the houses, the shower room was quite clean, but slightly dead, as always in hostels like this, the toilet was clean, separate, quite good overall.

It's a very good hostel.

There is a huge apartment in an old house on the first floor. There is an inner courtyard of its own. One time a worker ran for bread, whether it was closed or just abandoned. Breakfast is more than modest. Coffee dissolved from a can, tea bags don't fill up. Fruit, bread, butter, jam, milk, pasta. And somehow breakfast, judging by the behavior of the administration, every time for them as for the first time. One time a worker ran for bread when everything was open or just abandoned. The second time, having put the blanks in the same bowl yesterday, he ran to the store for bananas and peaches.

For very casual travelers

The hostel has a very good location and is only a few minutes away from the city centre  with very close access to all transport. The girl at the reception vas very nice and polite and very interested in helping us. Rooms and bathrooms are clean but not up to date. The curtains on the showers are not washed regularly and there is a lot of mold in the bathrooms and also in the bedrooms. The hostel needs a renovation...

As part of a three-day visit to the Portuguese capital, I stayed here with a friend. Positive: + clean rooms + friendly staff + good location + nice roommates Negative: + relatively bright + kitchen and bathrooms are already a little overcrowded + breakfast I paid 25 euros per person per night and found the overall price-performance ratio good and fair. Thank you very much!

Nice and fair hostel...

The hostel enjoys an excellent location, and is small enough to stay calm. However, the furnishings are old and loose: the bathrooms are in fact full of mold and odors, the floating beds (important when sleeping in castle beds), and the little insulating windows.

Overvalued, low bid

This hostel has nothing good. The environment is cold and uncomfortable both in terms of the room and in terms of the common areas if you can call it that since there is practically nothing. Bad smell in the room. The kitchen is very small. The staff is not very available and not very kind. Bad choice!

Weight:

placed in centre of Lisbon and some parking nearby is a good solution for people wanting to stay in city centre. Staff very helpfull and conditions are ok. Breakfast was also ok and we enjoyed the stay. Maybe wifi could work a little better
