I was into the weekend. The hotel is very affordable and close to downtown. The street is almost dead, so relatively quiet. the room are clean and well equipped, in WIFI is working. Because the hotel is very small, there is no view, so anything you can do is sleeping. The problems were 2: an unpleasant odour from sewage (into the bathroom) and the noise made by neighbours. The walls are probably very thin. There is no receptionist/ doorman or similar personnel. However, the problems were solved at phone.
Another important thing: NO CARD ACCEPTED/ cash only. I booked online and paid the price for first night directly into the owner's account. I didn't receive any bill, but is true that I didn't requested one.

Quality OK for the price

It's an awesome place, really cheap and close to the historical centre(10 minutes walking), nice and quiet rooms and a very nice host. We warmly recommend this place anytime of the year, being near by the bus line to Rasnov, a very beautiful ski resort.

Went here at the end of March. 

The hotel is really cheap and relatively close to the centre. I believe it is best suited for the tourists that want to spend most of the time outside the pension.

Unfortunately, a very foul smell comes fron the bathroom. The manager said he knows about this and can't solve this problem because of some of the neighbouring buildings.

We stayd at the first floor and the second floor is made of wood that cracks and makes noises at each and every step.

Talking about noises: the walls are super thin!!!

The good thing is that the manager seems to be very friendly and eager to help you have a nice stay.

Average quality at a low price

We were surprised to have found a room on a really short notice (same day), but we were really glad that Popa's was available. Paul was really nice (he even saved a parking spot for us), pity we didn't have a chance to chat more.

The room was cosy, tidy, and clean. We had one of the rooms on the bottom floor, with the window showing the street - this could be annoying if you're sleeping with the windows open, as there seems to be quite a lot of traffic going on, even at night. However, the bed and pillows were really comfy, so sleeping wasn't an issue; also, the room was pretty cool in the evening, so there was no need to have the windows open. The bedding was also clean, as well as the towels.

Location was also very good - a 10 minute walk to Piata Sfatului. If you're driving, you might be able to find a free parking spot just a bit down the road.

Location - relatively close to the center - 10-15 minutes on foot or 2 stops on bus number 5, but buses go quite rarely. By the same bus you can get to Ashan or to the Bartholomew station waiting for a trip to Rishnov. To the Autogara station - 2 15 minutes on foot. Our room was spacious, clean, but very noisy - the windows go out to a rather busy street. With the open window sleeping is problematic. The owner was welcoming, everything was interpreted and accessible.

For a short stay in Brasov

Stayed 2 nights.  Marcel, the manager, was fantastic! Even gave us a map.  He lived in the US so perfect English and easy to understand. Not super near city center but about 10-15 min walk.  We visited things along the way.  Close to Citadel.  Would definitely stay there again if I ever go back to Brasov!
