We arrived on May 19th. Thank you for your hospitality, everything was very good. Clean, cozy, comfortable rooms. The facilities are great, only on the 2nd floor, the water pressure is low, but it didn't bother us.

Hostel of the protein

I've been to this hostel with a friend, I really liked it:) clean, cozy, mountain views, cool backyard. The kitchen has all the amenities.

We recommend it.

It's one of the best hostels in Russia where I've had to stay. We liked it so much that my friend and I stayed there for longer 😊 It was very warm. It was clean. It was cozy. It was a nice shower room. The beds were cool. No. They were magical. The mattresses were so soft that you could drown in them. And in the morning they hugged us, not letting us out of their arms. I don't want to get out of this bed at all! The warm rooms, the splendid view from the windows of the pine trees and the nearby mountain tops. You look out from the spring, and on the street - the beauty! In the morning, the snowflake is so bright that the sun shines, the child's bright air is so round, the birds fly.

A cozy house away from the noise

Hostel was amazing, it feels like a cosy chalet. The rooms were lovely. It is a bit of a walk uphill to get to it from the town but it didn't put us off. They also gave us help organising our trip as we wanted to go diving and they put us in touch with an amazing instructor. We were there in quite season so it was just us and one other guest. The staff member had a hospital appointment so wasn't around after giving is the keys and tour, but she kept in touch with us the whole time to make sure we were doing ok. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely hostel

The hostel has a nice and simple design - it gives you a pleasant feeling.  The location is not really the best when you don't feel like walking.  

I had problem with the registration card that they issued me though - they sent me a copy of the card via WhatsApp, saying that's all I need.  However, I got rejected by a hostel in Moscow a few days later because apparently I need the actual paper.

I like to stay in Belka Hostel when I visit Listvyanka, it is very simple, made of wood, clean and the price is great. Staff is friendly. Great location if you need some quiet and relaxing time. Meditative atmosphere around, away from bizy street. Also great excersize when youbwalk up the hill to Belka from the center of the village.

Best budget place

We had a break with our sister and her young man. A quiet, spacious house in the woods with a beautiful view of the mountains. Walking 15-20 minutes to Lake Baikal is one of the minuses. The low water pressure in the shower is uncomfortable to wash. At the time of visiting the bathroom was not working - we were upset, we were offered the opportunity to go to the bathroom in the neighboring hostel, but walking from hostel to hostel was not very pleasant. The bathroom problems in the kitchen on the second floor were also unpleasant.

Hostel

I booked my stay at this hostel directly through the administrator (by email) because I didn't get the number through the booking site. I found a place quickly. The visit was very early, but despite this I was welcomed and felt at home. Among the unique moments - your neighbors will be foreigners from all over the world! So it's great to just practice English and find friends from all over the world. The hostel is near Baikal in the woods, so communication can lead, you need to be ready for it! A kind and pleasant hostess who will tell you everything! You rarely meet guests of this level in big cities. You guys! You guys! Grow up and develop!

A fairy tale hidden in the woods

Make sure you are prepared on the location of this hostel before you arrive. Not difficult if you have an idea. The large gate has a picture of a chipmunk on it?
The staff here are excellent especially the manager Lera and were lovely associate Alex. They can both speak excellent English (as well as other languages...no doubt). Warm dorm and common room is spacious and functional. Fully functional kitchen. Good value for money

Great staff make a great stay

Pre-arrival Communication with Belka was very prompt and helpful esp in order to obtain papers to organise Russian visas
The staff were very friendly Alex and then Sascha.  Offered lots of support for us to get settled eg organising food, washing  and for the lay of the land.
The hostel has an upper and lower level kitchen/ lounge set up.  These are extremely user friendly and have just enough equipment for you to self-cater.
Plus they are warm.
The whole facility is homely and snug.  It seems purpose built as a hostel.
Showers have low pressure but that is a good water saving mechanism !!
As weary travellers we were able to get some washing done and this was a major life saver.
As a small group we were able to get a 4 bed dorm room together which was great plus. We had a room key, which basically gives you peace of mind to leave stuff at the hostel. Another moment to reduce risk or worry.
This hostel is up a long road from the lakeside so be prepared for that.
The Internet did not work at all - this was not the end of the world but posed a few problems as apart from a wi-fi spot 1/2 way down in the road to the lake, we were unable to identify any wi-fi cafes in town.  I ended up perched at this wi-fi spot while it was snowing trying to sort out details for our next move.   Be prepared for this also.
We needed to have a restful place for a couple of days and Belka provide this admirably ( well the lake helps also).

Listvyanka is a small town on an amazing lake, once you get over the geographic wonderment it gets easier to locate services eg: markets, banks and so forth. Clearly the existing cute Siberian wooden houses here are in for a pushtz as development seems to coming to town.
