This place offer a great hospitality and the owner (son/Daughter ) are very helpful and speaks English. We had a great time and the location was great. Easy access to all the places around and very quiet. I had misplaced my immigration card at the hostel and the very minute I knew about that I contacted the Hostel and the son was very helpful enough to send it to my right away. Very impressed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone while in Moscow. Have a great time in Russia. 

Excellent value for money 

First off, this is a very difficult place to find with no signs of any kind. I asked three people in the building and they were all unable to tell me where the hostel is! This is what you’ll want to look for: 

1) On the outside of the building, you’ll see a yellow sign for another hostel, Hostel Napoleon. This is the correct building. 
2) Go up to the third floor. On your left, you’ll see a large grey door with the number 25 marked on it. There is no sign for Grants Hostel anywhere but this is the right place. Crazy, right?! BTW If you see a door with the sign for Hostel Napoleon, you’re on the wrong floor. Go back down a floor.

Now the review: calling this a hostel might be a stretch as there's no real social atmosphere here. Google Maps has the property listed as Grants Apartments which I think is a more apt description. These are rooms consisting of private and dorm-style rooms with a shared kitchen, showers, and toilets. There isn’t always someone at the front desk so if you’re arriving at odd hours be sure to let the staff know in advance.

I stayed in one of the twin rooms here which was comfortable for one person although two people would be a bit of a squeeze. The room and facilities here are extremely clean. Literally spotless. There are signs everywhere to remind guests to pick up after themselves in a characteristically Russian way which I came to appreciate. There are two private showers and two toilets and I never had an issue with having to wait for either. If you're shy about walking around in your PJ's for a late night bathroom break, the lighting in the hallway is nice and subdued. There are also three sinks for washing in the general area. The showers each also have their own private sinks. The kitchen was well-appointed and great for whipping up a simple breakfast in the morning. 

The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful when I needed directions or help doing my laundry. Don’t expect warm smiles or anything beyond basic greetings, however. I think that is the norm in Russia. Some of the staff also appear to live onsite so you may see them doing their hair in the morning, etc alongside you but it’s all part of the charm of staying in a place like this. 

The best part of staying here is the location as it is only a 5 minute walk to the Kitay Gorod station and about 12-15 minute walk to Red Square. The area is also quite lively at night with lots of locals walking about. I saw almost no tourists in the area so if you want to feel like a local this is a good choice. For the price and location, it’s an excellent value.

This is a tiny hostel in flat house. I think it is a family business. There are 8 rooms and always clean. Personal is very kind and friendly. There always silence no matter when you are at hostel. There is a kitchen where you can make good, you can get free coffee or tea. Also you have shared toilet and showers, but they are also always clean and in good quality. Thus hotel makes feel that you are at home. I liked to stay there and I recommend it to everyone as it is in the centre of Moscow, it is always clean and comfortable and have the best personal. Thanks for everything.
