I'd like to start with the fact that the main page wanted a lock, it really has nothing to do with this establishment. A typical private hostel is on the first floor of the economy class. The staff, how you get in the mood. In the rooms, dirt is very rarely cleaned (the windows are broken). As for the infrastructure, it's all relatively close. Pay special attention to those who are going to pay for the booking on arrival. There's a chance you can stay in a broken yard. So that you don't get promised what stories the staff didn't tell, from the host, your room may be occupied by another guest, as happened to me.

A souvenir, not a souvenir.

We lived in it for five days, in a two-bedroom, all the time we didn't clean, dirty, no place to put our bag and stuff, in the next room we smoked and everything went to our room, the noise was disgusting, there were always guns in the hallway, the only plus is the location.

The horror.

It took me a long time to find this hostel but when i did it was wonderful.  The English speaking lady Larisa was very helpful in organizing my train and next hostel even giving me unused clothes from past guests and and unneeded groceries.  Definitely a positive experience in Moscow.

Hard to find but when you do its wonderfully accommodating.

I stayed at this hostel for only one day. The hostel was in the middle of Moscow, but the staff were too uncultured and rude. They mocked the guests, for example, they called each other crazy Dutchmen etc. I've never seen such a relationship and a cold meeting in hostels. I won't ever again when I'm not at the Souvenir hostel and I don't recommend you!

The most horrible and rude staff.

Small but cozy rooms. Very friendly atmosphere and owners who really take care of the guests. Clean and quiet. Calm sorrounding and very close to the famous park - Patriarshe Prudy. 25 min walking from the centre, 12 min form Tverskaya metro station. Kitchen and tea&coffee for guests.

Cozy&simlpe

The hostel is located in a quiet area not far from the Patriarchal Pools. The metro station is a 15-minute walk away. We stopped in a room with a double bed and our bathroom. The room is cozy, clean, bedding is whole, white. There is a dining room where you can drink tea, have a snack. Responsive staff. There is free wi-fi. Excellent price/quality ratio.

It's a great hostel.

It's not the first time we've stayed here, it's nice and cozy, it's a beautiful location, the Patriarchal ponds are nearby, the subway is close, there are many cafes, the area itself is very quiet and pleasant, we stay in a room with a double bed and our own bathroom, everything is very clean.

A comfortable place in the Patriarchate

I booked a 'family room' for my boyfriend and me via Hostelworld.com. It was said to include a double bed, cot and shared bathroom at the price of £15 per person per night. One week before our planned visit I got an email from the hostel telling me there had been a 'mistake' and that our booking was for two bunk beds in an 8-bed dorm, not a family room, and that if we wanted a private room, the price would be £45 per night for the room. 
There was no apology. When I pointed out it was not my fault the hostel got its labelling wrong and that I was entitled to a private room as stated in my booking confirmation, the guy - Andreev Grigori - merely wrote: "You have reservation but in Dormitory. It is mistake in ROOM TYPE NAME, we havent FAMILY ROOM! We tried to contact with our accaunt meneger but she didnt answer."

Hostelworld have now started an investigation. I hope this hostel will get what it deserves. I am outraged by this type of behaviour and the blatant attempt to rip me off in such a sneaky and, not to forget, illegal way.

Scam alert: 'mistake in booking' leads to 50% price increase

Position is not so close to the Red Square but, considering the size of Moscow, is still a good location. My  double room was very clean and silent, even if a bit too small (I didnt know where to put my luggage and clothes). Shared kitchen is very nice and well equipped with everything you need to cook.

Good hostel

It was really clean and I love this place a lot! I booked a double room with private bathroom. And actually the shared bathroom is very clean too. As the receptionist only be there at 10am, so it's a must to email them the time you arrive to check in and to enter the hostel, as no one will be there to open the door for you, unless there are guest heard the bell and open for you.
The location is a little hard to find at first, and is quite a bit of walk from the metro. But still not too bad overall. And guest has to take off their shoes when entered, and changed into the slippers that hostel prepared ( shared among the others). Overall it was good!
