Very nice, simple and warm. Mountain-like room, rustic and with very good quality bedding. We feel good and want to go back. The environment is beautiful, it deserves to stay a little longer to discover the natural and architectural beauties, for a green tourism. Being out of season and on weekdays, we couldn't enjoy the services of the restaurant.... sorry, we'll have to come back!!!! thank you for everything!!

A place to go back to

We slept here one night, with a wolf time. Nevertheless, the experience was nice, the place is warm and cozy. The lady who made our breakfast very nice and available. The room is beautiful, new and clean. The only thing a little bad gives him are the bells that ring often. But it's still worth the five balls:)

What a beautiful place.

I was in this restaurant with a group of over 50 people after a day spent at the Christmas markets in Ljubljana. The ham cellar really deserves a visit, we tasted wine and salmon there, and then we dined upstairs in the restaurant...all the meat dishes are of our own making.

Welcome to the top!

Lovely family run place made to feel extremely welcomed. Rooms were comfortable, food & wine all produced by the family and it is perfectly located if you enjoy hiking, fancy a day trip to Italy or Croatia. 

Lovely place lovely people 

We stayed at Tourist Farm Arkade during our trip to Slovenia and enjoyed best possible hospitality here! Room was nice and clean and bed comfortable. Best part of our stay was, however, dinner in the evening prepared by Silva and her daughter. We were served three course meal that exceeded all expectations - everything homemade with ingredients from their own farm. So delicious! We also got a chance to visit the cellar of hams and wines. 

We will definitely return here when next time in Slovenia!


Great experience in Vipava valley!

I would like to comment on your negative reviews regarding the experience you had at the turistic farm Cigoj in Črniče in Vipavska dolina. My family and I have been visiting the farm for several years now, and your incredibly insulting comment struck a nerve with me. Mostly because all of the things you wrote are simply not true and misleading for the Tripadvisor users. It is true that you will not be able to see the pigs and the vineyard in the middle of their front yard, because they put a lot of effort into maintaining a clean and pleasant surroundings around the restaurant. Only meters from the house, there is a barn with animals and a professional slaughter house. A road leads right up to that building, on the way you pass the main house and go slightly up hill. There you can also see their fields where they grow all of the fruits and vegetables they offer to tbeir guests. Everything they offer is absolutely 100 % homegrown and produced. The food and drinks on offer are grown and produced on their farm. They have 6 ha of vineyards and 150 pigs. 
The pigs are fed exclusively with the produce grown on the 40 ha of fields that also belog to the farm. The whole family works at the farm. At the moment their basement carries 300 pieces of perscutio. Their wines have collected 40 gold medals in the 30 years they grow and produce it. The owners are extremely kind and always ready to show guests around their wine cellar and the basement where perscutio is kept. Both of which the gests are also welcome to try. Each and every guest who wishes to see the farm is more than welcome to do so. The sightseeing, as well as wine and perscutio tastings are part of their offer. The goods they grow and make can also be bought at several other venues. The tourist farm is open from Friday to Sunday, during the week they offer accomodation without the tours of the farm. Childrens toys? This is family farm with 2 beautiful small children and yes babies play with toys.  Flyes? You are missing pigs right in the front yard but on the other hand your are pissed becouse of flyes? Their neighburs have pigs right at the begining of their driveway. Houses so close together? Please educate yourself why people in Slovenia are building houses so close together in region Karst. The reason are hars weather conditions with hard blowing wind. If you showed interest in their farm and asked around, the owners would be more than happy to show you around. Besides, the pub and house are full of photos and medals that show the family is doing a great job and get many awards for their produce, products and work. 



Turistic farm Arkade Cigoj

The property is not as represented to potential guests on booking sites. It is not a farm, it is a handful of rooms above a restaurant. The property is surrounded by other buildings and is in the centre of a small run-down town. 

The corridor approaching the room had dead plants, scattered childrens' toys, and flies everywhere. The room was not clean, the mattress was visibly worn out, and the room had a broken AC unit. As a result, we cancelled our stay on arrival. While we acknowledge that a cancellation fee may be appropriate in some circumstances, the property was not what was booked.

The property owner subsequently asserted to the booking agent that we left after our stay without paying - untrue, we did not stay - and that we broke a glass - again untrue, we were never in an area with glasses - for which they are claiming ten euros compensation.

The depiction of the property at time of booking and the owner's behaviour were misleading to the point of fraud.

Deceitful

My in-laws stayed here a decade ago and loved it. They talked of the dinner, the wines, the farmhouse. We arrived to...a standard motel with AC that didn't work. In the middle of a town. It was so uninspired that we left. We booked a hotel in the coast and left. 

I genuinely thought this was going to be the best night of our vacation. Instead, we've stayed elsewhere. It's a perfectly reasonable motel. Just don't expect a vineyard or farmhouse... Which was the ENTIRE reason we booked it. 

We left. Not a vineyard or a farmhouse. :(

Hotel location: The hotel is located in a small village called Crnice, about 20 km from the town of Gorizia on the border with Italy. The hotel is located a few meters from the route that runs through the town center, right in front of the church, and has a sign indicating the location. Slovenia is a very small town and Crnice's location is very convenient. Both routes connect to Gorizia. The good thing about being away from the highway is that in the same hotel doorway there is a countryside atmosphere that, at least for me, is priceless. The hotel is located a few meters from the route that runs through the town center, or just in front of the church, and has a sign indicating the location.

A great place in a small town.

The farmhouse is located in the village, a few steps from the motorway and is therefore very convenient if you are travelling. The owner is kind and welcoming and speaks well Italian. In the courtyard under a pergola you can dine with company products. The rooms are comfortable, but the bed definitely very noisy has disturbed sleep. Good breakfast.
