Three nights we could only stay one because it was impossible to be there, it was literally a cloaca, we had to have the bathroom closed and yet it was unbearable, you couldn't do the douche, or brush your teeth, or anything there... If we pointed it to a receptionist, if there was any other habitable room and didn't give us any solution, if you had the option of sleeping in the car I would recommend it before entering here.

Without words

The staff were uniformly friendly and really welcoming here. One of the night guys always chatted with me and on my second night told me his name and asked for mine. It helps that I speak Spanish as the staff have very little flair in other languages.

 I liked the location which is so convenient for the port and the bus and train stations. I was travelling to La Linea and Gibraltar a lot so it was fantastic to have the bus station just over and up the road. The area is one of lovely old traditional houses with many immigrants, which I also love. It's full of Moroccan bakeries and delis as well as souvenir shops. I was buying the bstilla every day! The other Moroccan sweetmeats in the bakeries locally were also great. The market is nearby as are loads of Spanish shops for food and goods. I took a load of Spanish food back to Morocco with me from shops in the area of the hotel. There are also nice restaurants within walking distance, both ethnic and Spanish.

Some people moaned about good-time girls in the area. Well, they don't worry me a bit. They just stand there minding their own business. None tried to approach me.

Some nights were cold as this was January, but the room heater was more than adequate. The bedding kept me warm. The room was of adequate size for one person.

The WiFi worked well and at high speeds throughout my stay. The TV was fine with many channels although the majority was in Spanish. 

I liked the wetroom-style bathroom, especially as I prefer to shower sitting down. 
I had a nice time there for 4 nights. I would stay again.

Cleaning was done daily and the room was left immaculate with the bed made properly and fresh towels supplied.

I can't really think of anything negative to say about this hotel. At £17 a night, I wouldn't expect more, the room size was adequate, the furnishings were fine, the staff were friendly. I would definitely stay again.

Very pleasant stay

In a delicate moment, the staff of the hostel helped us and treated us like family, lucky to find this place, and it was amazing how they made everything easier for us and helped us in everything they could.

Welcome as unpleasant as possible. Saline place. Awful back pain when you wake up if you can call it a wake up being not asleep because of the cold. 10 euro arnak on the price of the room. The manager absolutely wanted to be paid in cash while the blue card is accepted. After a while he finally accepted the blue card... FURIOUS! GREAT PIN GOUIN!!!

Never go down

A hole in the burned wall, blood-filled curtains, strange manches on the walls, repaired rooms with isolated love, burnt tables, neighborhood conflict, prostitutes in the neighborhood, all sorts of unfortunate things... And I would follow... I didn't read the comments before I left.

Regarding the comments that have been read if I have little, it is for viewing.

Algeciras is a dirty and quiet port city, anxious in the evening, but the hostel is dignified and cheap, it's a stone's throw from the train and bus station, nice owner, indoor bathroom separated from a tent, old room, good for a night's fair passage to depart at dawn

Low prices, few claims

I'm not a person who likes to score badly, but this time I have no choice. I think this establishment shouldn't be on tripadvisor, it doesn't meet the minimum conditions. Poor care, bad cleaning. We found coils under the bed, very dirty and bad looking bathroom curtains, etc.) the neighborhood, unfortunately, is located in a prostitution zone. The truth is, it's a pity. We rented it because I hadn't read all the comments. No we went because we couldn't lose 97€. I hope it will serve other travelers.

So that there is no return.

We booked one night only, as we were robbed of passage at Tariff, and it was not badly priced (30€).When we arrived the streets were full of drug addicts, prostitutes, etc. Once in the boarding house everything looked old and careless, the treatment of the rooms improper and the rooms better not to talk about, everything was dirty, the disgusting walls, and it was very bad, strange and unpleasant noises were heard, as we arrived and saw the situation, we were losing money.

It's regrettable, but I'll never go back.

My acquaintances from Algeciras told me that it was a very bad area and yes it is true that it is a little overcrowded but in my experience when I returned at night the street was quite quiet. The room was certainly cut, all old, as much furniture as sheets but it was not dirty. The treatment of the employees was kind.

Better than I expected.

The room was clean, just like the bathroom; the receptionists' attention was very good whenever needed. The price is economical, the location is unbeatable if you need to go to the port, bus station or train station.
