The location is excellent, on a pedestrian street, right in the centre of Madrid, two or three minutes from two metro stations, Opera and Sol. There are no shortage of offers to eat and shop, even at the doorstep. The street is noisy, as always in Spain, but the windows filter about 90% of the noise and the beds are comfortable silent. The room is basic, but as in this type of visit only intended to sleep, it is well suited. The staff are very friendly.

A great choice to stay in Madrid

El Hostal meets the best expectations. Very good care (reception 24 hours) Good size room with private bathroom. Very clean room as common spaces. Excellent location, on Calle del Arenal three hundred meters from Plaza del Sol. Fully commercial area. It is located on the second floor of a building, with access by elevator, without any inconvenience.

More central, almost impossible, very clean, room with balcony, comfortable bed. Without a doubt my visits to Madrid have been the best and most economical. It has a lift and 24-hour reception service.

This place has the best location we could ever ask for. Just in the center and it was very easy to find it when i first arrived.  ( 2 min by walking from the metro station Opera) 

Arrived late night so it was a very big ++ that it provides 24 h reception...and not to forget to mention that the staff was so polite. 

The room was so clean and the cleaning lady was coming  every day to clean and change the towels.

Best Location, 24 h Reception & Clean

The location is virtually unbeatable, the price went very well, the guy who hosted us was very friendly, the only negative is the quality of the bed, the mattress is already a little out of date, the cleaning is excellent.

Hostel is simple and correct. Very good location. The basic things to sleep and rest. Although it sounds quite noisy but because it is in the same center. The reception is on the third floor and there were on the second floor.

In the center of Madrid, near Puerta del Sol, in a new building, small but comfortable rooms, very clean, good and kind staff, in the middle of every business, to recommend and definitely return

As long-time LFC fan from Indonesia, when I realized I have already secured visa to Germany when Liverpool beat Barcelona and advances to Final, I immediately tried to book additional trip to Madrid. (stars were so aligned. Had I have to process the visa, I wouldnt have made it). 

After repeated cancellations by various other hotels, I feel like hitting a jackpot. Booked a single room for 96 euro a night in a two star hostal while others quote 300 a night for one star. Stayed 3 night 30-2.(it says in the receipt twice the normal peak rate. So i guess the normal rate is 48 euro. That compares with others charging 5-10 normal price). 

The hostal location couldnt be better. Between sol and opera, you can connect to airport or atocha via sol cercanias and all would be step free. With these two stations so close, you can go anywhere to Madrid very easily. Buy the 1,2,3,4,5 or 7 day ticket and you dont have to worry about finding coins. Very easy. 

The room 13 was very clean, facing the street and has tiny balcony. It has good aircon, tv, small fridge, bathroom with shampoo and soap, towels daily changed. It has elevator. As it is facing the street, bring your earplugs. On the 31th may i could barely sleep. But happy listening to LFC chants (if I were not LFC fan I would have cursed) No meals but many resto around. 

I would definitely book again if I ever come to Madrid. Besides the location, cleanliness and the elevator, they are run by good people. Only charge double the normal price while others charged 5-10x normal. So this hostal won my support.

Fabulous location and cleanliness

Very nice hostel, renovated, in an unbeatable location, 200 meters from the Puerta del Sol. The room was spacious, patio-like and quiet interior. Close and exquisite treatment.

I spent one night in this establishment: the perfect location, proper accommodation (me if you don't look under the beds thing I did...), perfect and helpful reception. The -: my room was extremely noisy, no soundproofing, the reception was 2m from my door (the reception is open 24 hours a day so people who talk a little at any time and come at any time day and night), the neighbors who moved the furniture, the fridge is very noisy, noises in the indoor courtyard and besides I didn't have much of a sense of a breeze that got stuck on the road every 10 minutes.... the room was equally dark because the lights were lit between two curtains, so people who had to hide the lights at any time of the day and night, the neighbors who moved the furniture, the fridge was very noisy, and I didn't have much of a sense of a breeze that got stuck on the door for a long time, and I had to sleep for a long time, because it took me a long time to get out of the window, but it was a good night to get
