Very cozy hotel. Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Common areas of the hotel very pleasant. Coffee and cake served. Cordial and efficient service. Tasty and varied breakfast. Very well located, close to shops, attractions and the central train station.

A cozy and comfortable hotel in Gothenburg!

Charming independent hotel, pleasant and efficient accommodation. It is perfectly located in the centre of Gothenburg and 10 minutes' walk away. The decoration is very nice, especially the common areas, the rooms are a little more buzzy. Good bed, quite soft, each with its own taste! Pleasant dining room and large enough, breakfast is good, there is a lack of variety. Overall a very good experience, to recommend

A very good experience

The beds were comfortable, breakfast good and staff friendly. The central position is great with little traffic noise. 

But- our rooms looked out onto a central courtyard/ parking space with a very noisy external fan unit going all day and all night. The noise was bad enough to mean we could not easily listen to the radio, and we had to close the windows to get any sleep. The same must apply to most of the rooms as few appear to face the street. We were lucky the weather was not too hot as the rooms were pretty stuffy with no air flow.

 We also felt that our single rooms at least did not fit the description of individually styled rooms- they were perfectly adequate but more like a bland chain hotel. 

Disappointing

The hotel is in the centre of Gothenburg, for charity, nice structure, quite cold staff, never a smile in 4 days of stay. The sad note, as far as I'm concerned, is the quality of sleep, the worst I've experienced in recent years. The bed practically swallows you up, it's like sleeping on a pudding, which is why in the morning you're not only not resting, but you're in pain everywhere. If we add to this that the minus pillows are tiny and even softer than the mattresses themselves, and that at 5.30 at night it started to gloat, and apart from a smooth tendon (which made the tent all clear in the room) there was no bones in the room to tell us what was resting during the holidays.

I mean...

The pluses: very well located in the city centre and the price...a little smile is welcome..but that's it! The minus is the size of the room that is small, the decor really not finished: for Scandinavian design it's a little limited, the room is poorly arranged, the curtain doesn't cover the window that we have difficulty opening, the store that is barking up the wrong way..the worst of all is the ventilation that makes a lot of noise.

A hotel that could become a haven of peace in the heart of the city.

We stayed at Hotel Vanilla twice during our stay, all the rooms are unique, clean and stylish. The staff are lovely and helpful and the breakfast is delicious. Great central location, super affordable, we will definitely stay here again!

The best hotel in Gothenburg

The hotel is situated in the heart of the city. Lovely eateries all around. Good shopping places too. No elevator, carrying the luggage to the second floor was very exhausting. Situated a little away from the train station though….

Perfect location

We stayed at the Vanilla Hotel for one night at six and found the hotel very good for a three-star hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are well equipped and above all very clean. The breakfast was very good and there was enough of everything. The location is perfect to explore everything on foot. Only the mattresses are a little too soft for one or the other but that's different for everyone. We would book the hotel again anytime.

A simple but wonderful hotel

Perfect location, everything is within walking distance, tram, bus and river. Breakfast buffet is extensive unfortunately no fish. Staff especially the pier is very competent, room cleaning is cutting edge. Equipment of the better room with everything you need, including tea and cafe. Not suitable for people who can't climb stairs. About 10 minutes walk to the bus terminal airport, as there are currently plenty of construction sites in the city.

Super location all within walking distance, price performance perfect

This hotel is located smack in the middle of Gothenburg where you are surrounded by shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. We stayed in a room under the roof on the street side which was decent sized and had everything you can expect from a hotel room. Good wifi, comfortable bed, good shower and tasty breakfast.

The hotel only has 5 parking spaces on site so your chances of getting one of those are small. Instead you can park in a garage nearby (5 minutes walk) where you pay 180 SEK/day. The room was quite warm when we were there in November. We even turned the heating off. I can imagine that these rooms under the roof can get hot in summer.
