First of all the interior of the hotel is beautiful and so unique, it’s like stepping back in time. The staff in the reception both at check in and check out was so professional and genuinely nice. What I absolutely love about the hotel is that you’ve got everything you need in the room for a comfortable stay. Such as mini bar , hair tools ( actually good ones ), hygiene kit, tooth brush etc, so no worries if you have forgotten like everything at home. This  is what I call service as they have really thought about the guest, what they need but often forgotten at home :) 
An extra plus is definitely that it is close to the central station.

Best hotel in Gothenburg

You have to book online and pay up front  with this hotel. So when we arrived we had to do this before the receptionist would allocate us a room for 2 nights. The room was comfortable, not large, but we did book a petit room. The only thing was it was an extremely dark room with the dark decor and lightening. We had a room opposite a building construction which was unfortunate. You have to book a time slot for breakfast which is a bit of a pain when you are on holiday. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had dinner on our first night  which was ok, nothing earth shattering. Breakfast was ok as well. Mixed feelings about this hotel not sure if I would go back or not. There is a lot of building work going nearby and the trams run by so you cannot park to drop off your luggage instead a 10 minute walk from a multi storey car park which can be a bit of a hassle if you have a lot of luggage.  

Very Central Quirky Hotel

Echoing what others have said, this place is really hard to review. Some real positives but also some disappointments which overall left us feeling that we wouldn’t be back.

The good stuff: fun decor and a darkly romantic atmosphere, comfy beds, exceptionally good breakfast, professional and friendly staff, lovely wine in the bars, great amount of toiletries/snacks supplied by the hotel, great central location. 

The bad stuff:
- Sound proofing was poor, our room was above a bar and on weekend nights we were lying awake listening to Cher into the early hours. The window in our room didn’t really shut properly which didn’t help.
- Things felt a little bit worn and in need of repair: the plugs in our room were very unreliable and often phones wouldn’t charge etc, the light in our bathroom was broken, the metal structure supporting the sink was broken and collapsed multiple times, the mattress in our bed although comfy was quite ‘sunk’ causing a sharp ridge around the edge from the bed-frame
- Scratchy towels; the bath towels were an ok size but the smaller towels weren’t even large enough to wrap around your head after washing your hair.
- The hotel required you book a time slot for breakfast but upon arrival we were told that only the 9am slot was available for all but one of the 6 days of our stay. This affected the plans we’d made and some days we had to pay for breakfast elsewhere due to this. Frustratingly, the breakfast room was never actually full - one morning we decided to chance it and arrived at 10 to be told it was no problem. Great, but clearly the time-slots at breakfast cause more problems than they solve. It would be better to simply inform customers which are the ‘busy’ times when they may have to queue for a table at breakfast. 

We did enjoy our stay but overall the price felt too high for the various issues with disrepair, sound-proofing, and inconvenience around breakfast availability. If these were to be fixed, we’d happily return. 

We wanted to love it but didn’t quite manage

Very hard to rate this hotel as it was brilliant in some areas and really poor in others. Let’s start with the good…. basically anything to do with that top floor. Pre-dinner drinks on the hip roof terrace and post-dinner drinks in the top floor bar in the evening and the most fabulous breakfast the following morning back in the same spot. Amazing. The not so good was the overwhelming stench of fried fish in the hotel corridors and the filthy stained carpets in the bedrooms. It gave the feeling of all being a bit dirty, although the bed linen was fresh and the bed was comfortable. For the price we paid, it needs a bit more attention.

Mixed feelings

Away from the super modern style, this hotel did excell my ecpectations. Even their automated telephone messaging solution warned about something else on the positive side. We arrived late but was welcomed by a very nice receptionist, and the staff in the breakfast room also was very helpful and welcoming. Nice breakfast it was on top of it. Recommended.

Top service, nice room, cool var and interior in general

This hotel was probably the wrong choice for us so it depends on your taste as to whether you will enjoy it.  It is centrally located but currently there is a large building project directly opposite the best rooms which was very noisy all day.  The first suite we tried had a loud air conditioning unit that couldn't be turned off.  The decor is all quite dark which some might find romantic.  The restaurant on the top floor has a limited menu.  Breakfast had a good choice of items.  One male member of staff on reception was really helpful and friendly which made all the difference for us.

Boutique hotel in the very city center. Quiet large and clean rooms. It’s a fairly small hotel part of the ESS Group. Good breakfast on the top floor where the restaurant and bar is located. In the summer you also have a terrace. Interior decoration is cozy and stylish and the hotel is rather dark in the common areas. Friendly staff.

-misinformed personnel (see next point)
-not as much vegan breakfast as told by the personnel and it took some time to solve

Pros:- no allergy(im often allergic)
-cosy room
-good service and nice personell
-there were some vegan options and i left full

Good service, full stomach

View from one of there most expensive rooms which was  , was also right next to the tram line don’t stay here it’s not relaxing at all  you won’t  get any sleep ,the tram stops at 12.30 and stats at 5 .30 am terrible view opposite a building site . I don’t why it’s rated high on other reviews creepy hotel nice staff but this hotel is awful . So bad we cheaked out after first night  .  There is also no room service even though it says it has it . This is poor hotel also the roof garden is bar not really restaurant , there is no food really very small choice .  Breakfast was good . But this more like a bb  .

Do not stay here

We stayed only one night and wished we could have stayed longer. It was by far one of the best hotels I ever stayed. The room was fantastic, very comfortable and so quirky and fun. The staff was very friendly. We ended up taking the stairs to look at the decorations and sometimes taking the elevator to listen to the funny sounds it made. It was so much fun. The breakfast was on the roof and it was very very good. The whole hotel is so much fun!
