The hotel is cheap and located in a walking distance from city center. The room was small and the toilet super tiny (60 cm X 125 cm). There is no air condition, which is a problem in summer. We had to keep the window wide open, with a lot of noice and still a too warm room. The walls are thin so you also hear the neighbour snorching.  Beds are small. this is not the place for a long sleep but for one night its ok

Cheap, small, warm and noicy

Hotel very well located, city centre on foot and very pleasant to visit, there is free parking and a large parking possible just across the street, a waterfront veranda where you can have breakfast it's super cute. Very complete breakfast, really very well and constantly refilled, sweet and salty, buffet-style, large dining room. The reception staff is very friendly and smiling, and everywhere it's very clean. All because it's very positive of course but what stuck for us is the bedroom: a demanding, very sober or even basic shower model, no exceptions except for a cupboard in the entrance, twin rooms in two corners in the opposite bedroom so it's not hard to install but not very serious, but we can see that the bathroom is very clean and comfortable, so when we get into the room we can see that there are too many bathrooms and shower rooms in the bathroom.

Good and bad

Stayed three nights at Svanen during the Easter holidays. 
We had two rooms, which both were spacious and clean. 
That breakfast at the hotel is very good, with a big variety of cereals, bread , cold cuts etc.
The personnel were very friendly and helpful. 
I consider this hotel to be good value for money. 

Good value for money 

This mid-priced hotel is a great way to spend a comfortable and quiet night, with plenty and varied breakfast included in the price of the modern, clean and spacious room.

Clean, modern, comfortable.

We were really happy about this stay. First of all it was very affordable. And really nice looking. 😄 It was called low-price hotel, as to my understanding, being synonymous to cheaper, "not that good" standard perhaps. But so was not case and we are quite picky bout standards. 

The rooms were fresh o good looking. Nice interior. Perhaps not the newest bathroom interior but still clean and fresh. Breakfast was included and it had freshly baked buns and breads, all kinds of yoghurt, Swedish "Filmjölk", porage made out of rolled oats, different sorts of jam, cheese etc etc. Hot beverage and so forth. So overall a good breakfast. 

The staff was very kind as well. Don't miss out!! 

Stay overnight..

Our room was very clean and comfortable for a one night stay. Any longer and it may have become annoying as our second stay was in a very small room.  However it was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was basic. no tea or coffee making facilities in rooms but there was a large kitchen for guests' use. I f you used the coffee or small biscuits in the foyer it became expensive. Take your own shampoo & handsoap.

Stop Gap stay

Stayed one night with the family in the beginning of July. Kalmar is a beautiful city and draws a lot of visitors during summer. The hotels take advantage of the situation and charge ridicolous prices, also Svanen Hotel. Basic overall standard, beds not extremely comfortable, location not prime, breakfast again very basic. Staff friendly as often is the case.
