It was a great hostel; they will do all your laundry and fold it nicely for cheap. Great location and had a private room so it was great. 2 small things; one night a huge palm tree branch fell off and almost struck me next to my room when i was walking to lobby. other is that a all white long centipede crawled up my shower but i drained him back down and covered the hole with baby powder so that i could see if he came back up and where he went haha. besides that it was like $12 online for room and $8 per night in person when i went in February 2017.

Heavy-bass "Don! Don! Don!" of EDM/Trance continued until 5:00 am! (yah, i can tell u) from the nearby bar(s) and I was not able to sleep at all.
I do not understand why this hostel's got such a high rating. Besides noisy & sleepless night, 1)the staff who checked me in was not informed about where to park my car - Agoda info says "it's nearby"
After asking around the neighborhood shops, it was found out the KLKL Gueshouse's parking (attached photo) located about 200m off is available to Sleepy Owl's guests, because these 2 places are run by the same owner, according to KLKL's receptionist guy.

I don't understand this place is so highly ("Excellent" by Agoda) evaluated. If you wanna have a sound, quiet sleep, AVO

Will admit but hey when travelling I met the most wonderful friends hear, I enjoyed every minute of the stay located in a very safe environments staff were so kind and helpful , value for money great coffee shop and lovely food stop hear girls if you are travelling alone feel safe hear it’s such a good vibes place to stop xx check the sunset this place head to offer literally a four minute away and a great bar on beach xx 

This Hostel is in the heart of Lonely Beach

Stayed for 3 nights with my boyfriend in a 4 bed dorm (no private rooms available). Immaculate room, toilets, showers and wonderful cafe. 4 bed bunk room but each with its own bedside locker, curtain, light, socket and plenty of space for backpack and manouvering (even top bunks). Air con. 

Food was excellent, and coffee even better.  
Reasonable prices and staff really friendly. 

Very central for lonely beach bars and restaurants and a 5-10 minute walk to the beach (same as most places). 

Would definitely recommend. 

Perfect hostel

I stayed there for nine nights because I had booked in advance at agoda. For seven dollars a night I didn't expect much. The place is still pretty quiet. The sheets are pretty clean. The toilet looks like a prison, and the look of the room is similar. Other than not much to do around here except: tattoo, alcohol, ladyboyzZz etc. Good point: the internet connection is fast enough to escape into the virtual world.

too basic

Lonely beach is probably the best part of Koh Chang so the location is great! Right next to restaurants and bars 2min walk away. The beach is 5mins away and is awesome! Rooms are just the basics but it's all you need, only problem is the dampness in the rooms. Food at the restaurant is pretty expensive considering its attached to the cheapest place to stay in the bay. Staff were all really nice!

Good place, just damp

My rock hard mattress on the floor has ants crawling on all night, maybe because it was so close to the ground? The room has nothing in it but a bed, was too small and my toilet and toilet seat was broken.

The mixed feelings were caused by living in this hostel. On the one hand, it's cool that instead of sleeping in a room with a thousand people, you get a separate room with your shower and toilet, bad that the room smells of moisture all the time, because the windows don't open and the open door doesn't help. The internet is weak, but it has something to cheer. There's no mosquito net over the bed, so after three days I was walking in mosquito bites. All the undeniable advantages are the coolest beach in ten minutes of walking, the abundance of cheap cafes with delicious food (that's where I loved Thai cuisine), the cheap mass and the very sweet, friendly local ones.
