This hotel was of chalet type, room was big enough for us, two adults and child 8yo. Nice and clean room, bath with shower and bathtub, big comfortable beds. Sea was very close from the room, just a few steps away, it is visible in my photos. There were many good restaurants nearby, not expensive, cheap massage spa also nearby (8 USD for 1 hour). 
 Breakfast buffet was basic, but ok. Sea shore was of dangerous stones, better use special bath shoes, or we used to walk to the other sandy beach nearby, just a 5 mins walk. Rented kayak there to visit small island in front of the hotel. Hotel pool was quite big and nice, though staff at the bar did not speak English well and drinks priced a bit higher, than in the restaurants around. So we preferred to go out for dining, not at the hotel.
We also rented motorbike at the hotel to drive around the island. There was elephant farm excursion, that we booked outside off the hotel, nice, riding elephant for 1 hour in the jungle.
A few cons:
hotel window door was loose, should be fixed.
Stair handles were totally broken, dangerous for the disabled or older customers, not a problem for us though.
No shoes allowed in the breakfast area, we were not used to such restrictions, though not a big deal.

No, it's not gold that reluces.

The best experience on Koh Chang. We stayed in a superior sea view room 10 meters from the sea with a stunning sun set view. Great big terass shade all day and absolutely wonderful views. The pool was amazing, large and warm. Great sunset views and a restaurant on the side with drinks and food. Breakfast was rich and varied every day. Personal really nice and helpful. Five stars guys!!!!!!

Great stay in the heart of Kae Bae ;Beach

Stayed here for 10 days in February and didn’t want to leave.  The accommodation is basic but has everything you need, fridge, air con, terrace, safe, shower, kettle.  We did only have cold water a few days but it was so hot out that it was ok. The pool area is so beautiful with a great restaurant and bar alongside the pool. Very close to all bars and restaurants.  There is no beach but it’s only a 5 minute walk away. I will definitely stay here again.  A big mention to the staff who work so hard, especially the garden maintenance guys.  

Charming Resort

The resort is located in the middle of the Khai bay beach. The base of the resort is a villa on a rocky headland. There are one-story buildings along the river. The villas are very convenient with a large enough terrace. The rooms are quite spacious. The air conditioning works quietly, is well set up. There is no standard coffee set. Breakfast is modest, but sufficient. On the quiet area. The swimming pool is located behind the reception, near the restaurant. Very beautiful views at sunset.

We paid 1500bht (about £40) per night for what was supposed to be a top resort, I’ve stayed in much better rooms for 300bht. The only other rooms with a sea view were more than £90 a night. 
The room :- Was cleaned every day. But sorry that is the only good thing I can say about the place. The air con’’ is a con it hardly does anything.
The beds were creaky and uncomfortable.  The bathroom when you had a shower the toilet got soaked. There is a hole in the roof and ceiling so mosses get in. The extractor  don’t work so it smells damp. When you turn on the sink tap it moves.  You can hear all from next room. The TV was old on the plus side there were a couple of English Channels.
Free wifi is a joke  slow at best.
The pool is a good size but you share with the place next door. So not enough sun beds.
Breakfast was just about ok.
After 4 out of the 6 nights we booked we decided to move to some where we know is good and half the price.

Much better place

If you have one of the new bungalows right next to the pool, it's okay. But if you're like us in the cheaper double rooms, you're living in renovated rooms overlooking a beach that's cluttered with rubble. The heater is too old to still enjoy warm water, it smells clumsy, the beds are very hard and the entire living area with the double rooms is completely detached from the whole complex. There's not even a well-lit road in the evening. You get a bit of a feeling of sleeping in a secluded workhouse even the actual resort boundary much later. Plus points: the bar is rich, there's no early evening view of the pool (no beach) and the whole living area is completely detached from the whole complex. There's not even a well-lit road in the evening.

Friendly, efficient and very responsive staff, clean and well-maintained rooms and bungalows, superb large swimming pool with many bars, 200m from a beach, close to restaurants and shops, a little old TV but with TV5 world for the French-speaking world... we'll be back.

Coral Resort is a very good hotel.

It's a great resort in the centre of Kaibe, great for a not too long stop, especially after having toured the whole island.
