The hotel is located in the heart of historic Ankara, very close to the museum of Anatolian Civilizations, in an old Ottoman house renovated and equipped as accommodation.The facilities are very good and the care of the staff who serve it as well.The restaurant, of great quality, is on the wall of the old town, with careful decoration and excellent views over Ankara.The price-quality ratio is very good.

FANTASTIC is what it is.

I can't figure out how we found this hotel and why I booked it, but I only regretted it when I decided (by the suggestion of the tourist information bureau of the railway station) that I could walk to it. A very nice walk with suitcases from the station immediately introduced me to the market corridor of the nearby enclosure of Ankara castle. Despite this on our way, the paths of the lost travelers, a kind man who took one of the suitcases and found out where we had to get to the hotel doors. He refused the money, but the owner delighted us with his care and lighting up the cost of its existence as a hotel for the locals. Thank you very much. We were both already waiting for a minute and were given a small taxi, but there seemed to be a small room in the restaurant, so it was very convenient for us to get to know the owner of the hotel, but it was very easy to see how the coffee was working in the kitchen.

By the end of our trip around Turkey we wanted to stay somewhere special and And Hotel is just that. A tiny hotel with just five rooms, situated in a very quiet (!) and atmospheric part of Ankara: The old city and citadel on top of a hill. The wooden clad rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the shower was simply great. Our room had a a kitchen which was never (or not yet?) finished. Personal was friendly but hardly spoke any english. 

Lovely and tiny hotel in the heart of the Citadel

This is without doubt a beautiful old Ottoman building, tastefully restored, in an atmospheric part of the old city. I particularly loved the wooden ceilings. But service is based on smiles and shrugs.
As others have said, it is a challenge to find, even for us who can usually fathom the thinnest of directions. The first thing that hit us as we finally walked through the door was the heat. At 7.30pm on a spring evening the radiators were working like a winters night. As we entered our room, it hit like a wave. There were no valves to turn the radiators off, and when we made appropriate signs - no English spoken - the reception person just gestured to the air conditioning! So we spent the first night with the radiators pumping out heat to the open windows and the air-con working overtime. The heat did seem to have been turned down a bit the next night, but we still needed the windows wide open.
We booked the suite since it claimed to have a city view (booking.com), but the view, though pleasant, was mainly of the neighbouring mosque roof and trees. the suite is one floor up from the reception, and not too well sound-proofed. There was also a fair bit of thumping footfalls from above. The kitchen had no equipment, no plates, cutlery or even a cup for making tea. Nice bathroom. Comfy bed (but over-warm duvet!)
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, given the price. Our friend was leaving early on the first morning, so we ordered breakfast for 7.30, and a smiley lady appeared who spoke a few words of English to serve a basic Turkish breakfast. Tomatoes, cucumber, olives, packeted jam, fresh bread, hard-boiled egg, tea/coffee. No juice, fruit or yoghurt. On the second morning, we assumed she would appear at a similar time, but it was after 8.00 by the time she turned up. We had a train to catch, so by then we (and another couple) had helped ourselves to whatever was around in the kitchen - yesterday's bread etc. This was sorted out when she arrived, but it was all a bit slap-dash. 
Basically there was little or no communication between guests and staff. There seemed to be a different man at reception each day, all wearing the uniform of a security company. This beautiful building could make a first class boutique hotel, but the staff don't really give the impression that they have any personal committment.

Could be very good, but...

We stayed for 1 night in the suite of And Butik Hotel which is located inside the Ankara Castle/Citadel's walls. It was a little tricky to find it initially but when I rang for directions, they answered promptly and directed the taxi driver easily. The experience of driving uphill (and not doing that steep uphill walk with luggage) through the castle gates, then through the winding roads up to the hotel was enchanting.

The staff is friendly, efficient, and helpful. They speak great English. I inquired about the museum timings and they rang up and told me the info within minutes. The breakfast was good.

The hotel itself is an original 100 yr old Ottoman house and has been lovingly and tastefully restored. We had the suite at the top of the main mansion which had a double bed room, living room with a sofa bed and a kitchen. It was so beautiful, quaint and simply perfect! I loved, loved, loved it -- the ceilings, floors, everything is wooden! The beds were comfortable, everything was neat and tidy. Washroom was quaint and big with excellent toiletries. Wifi was good and there was a lot of tv channels. The views from the rooms were wonderful (the hotel is almost at the very top most point of the castle) especially at night when all of Ankara was twinkling underneath! The hotel is just under the castle ramparts and near the mosque. It was a pleasure to stroll out in the village area, exploring the roads and village square. We strolled at night and even at dawn. All was lovely !

The location is great as several very good eateries and general item and souvenir shops are nearby. Once out of the castle gates and down the road in a 5 min walk, you reach the fabulous Anatolian Museum and a delightful Hisar park. Anitkabir is a 15 min drive. 

The village square is charming with flowers everywhere and happy people going about their lives. The whole place has such a relaxed, happy vibe!

I think our Ankara trip was outstanding since we stayed in the Citadel. And Hotel was just the brilliant icing on the cake !

So quaint and beautiful -- lovely enchanting experience!

It's a great, just great hotel. It's great for anyone who wants to get to know the white wooden houses in Anatolian style that adorn old Ankara so well. Inside everything from Wi-Fi to a comfortable bed and shower, there are many of Ankara's main attractions - the old fortress, the museum of Anatolian civilizations, the Hajj Bairam mosque... except for the Atatürk mausoleum at the other end of the city, but getting there by subway is not so difficult. But how nice it is to sit on the walls of the fortress, which gives a beautiful view of the city. Yes, and walk around this old quarter of England on top of a homeless mansion... And by the way, there was a lot of people in the hall, and we didn't know who would be able to help you with it. But it's not easy to get there.

It's not easy to get there, but it's worth it.

We loved staying in this beautiful hotel, which is located in the Citadel. A bit hard to find (especially when travelling with a backpack, it's a steep way up to the Citadel), so arriving at the otogar, we took the metro and got of at 'Ulüs'. Then we took a taxi, and for only 10 TL the taxi dropped us of at the hotel.

The hotel is run by an older man, who takes care of everything, but speaks no English at all (besides yes, no and goodbye) but that was no problem at all, we managed to communicate. He was very nice and served a delicious breakfast. Rooms are very spacious, have airco and a little kitchenette. There's also a little terrace. Its' a beautiful restaured Ottoman house, in a quiet neighbourhood. We would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Ankara!

Beautiful hotel!

We stayed at the AND Hotel in Ankara for 3 nights.  The hotel is right in the old city and very quaint.  We had a lovely view and enjoyed watching the goings on of the neighbourhood.  If you are looking for action, this is not the place for you but if you are looking for tranquility and peacefulness and ready for a step back in time, check it out.  The manager of the hotel was charming and also very helpful since the location was extremely difficult to find.  He actually came and met us to guide us to the hotel.  We may not of spoke the same language, but there was no language barrier.  Breakfast was simple, but more than substantial and always fresh.

A beautiful hotel in the old part of Ankara! A restored 19th century mansion. The whole old center is within walking distance. In general, the location is great, the spirit of old Ankara is felt. The room is clean, free Wi-Fi, friendly staff.

This is the sweetest hotel!

This small family-owned hotel is located in the citadel of Ankara, right next to the stairs to the castle (make sure to get to the sunset, from there on the view is a fairy tale). We were greeted by the owner, a nice girl who doesn't speak a word of English but has a great vocabulary and we also managed to have a conversation, as well as having all the information we needed. He gave us a large room with 2 rooms, kitchen and a nice bathroom.
