0 stars. Planned a family stay which would bring our family together and have some adventures in process. However property was so dated. On further inspections in need some tlc, peeling wallpaper. Damaged chairs, mirrors, ceiling, 

No vacuum
No mop

Some serious investment required. 

The property had two shower rooms. A pink shower room! And a let’s throw things into the room with no thought room.

The kitchen was very limited. Glass cups?!? We had to purchase our own knives and chopping board. No cafetière. The property is littered with labels! Which makes it untidy. 

There is a large dinning table in the kitchen which dominates the room. A lot of teapots which again makes place look cluttered, dated and not covid safe. 

The property has not had a deep clean

I slept in main room downstairs, which having mobility problems was ok, however no downstairs toilet so be prepared to climb same level of stairs as Wetherspoons. Again not disability friendly.

We had a leak from pink bathroom and host claimed “resolved” we had a leak. Advised and wasn’t particularly interested. Just a mystery. So we had to use all towels as no mop bucket to clear up water. And buy soap powder to wash the towels. Again host didn’t offer any help! 

Now the shared pool. You share with guests in a house close by, and chalets. The pool was filthy, covered in slime. Insects. You are required to roll the pool cover off and onto the pool. So again not disability friendly. After spending 3 days cleaning the pool for use as it seems host never had. We had enough. My other half had to pull cover while inside pool and almost slipped on the slime. 

Due to very poor hygiene my family were unwell, advised host no apology.

The pool had signs of damage round outside.

Dead spiders on Fake grass. 

Upon check out, despite our issues, I cleaned the property. Washed the towels left drying in porch. Smelt lovely compared to stale smell when we arrived. Stripped beds. Ensure bins emptied and in associated bins. Left windows open for fresh air and as per most covid requirements. 

End of the 4 night break we were exhausted, felt robbed and disheartening. The property isn’t far from Loch Ness and Inverness but I wouldn’t recommend here unless you want to risk your health. 

The host reviewed myself and claimed I left place untidy and left pool cover off frequently. 

There were other guests on site and pool wasn’t used as we felt like workers rather than guests. 

And I never leave properties a mess! 

As a experienced traveller I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Avoid, dated and unhygienic

Stayed in the 4 bed cottage for 3 nights,absolutely beautiful and so clean, had everything you needed,towels toiletries tea coffee etc, including an indoor heated pool,even a little chapel in the grounds.the bed was so comfy we slept like logs. Take my word for it you will not be disappointed.John the owner was ever so helpful. We hope to come back soon 😊 
Thanks for a wonderful 3 mites,we also had fantastic weather which was a bonus.

Viewbank cottage

Had an impromptu stay at this B&B on September 16th, my late booking was no issue to owner who promptly booked me a room, 
On arrival i was met at Reception and shown to my chalet! 
Chalet was nipping clean with wonderful views! 
After a quick dip in the swimming pool i had a wonder comfy full night sleep! 
If i wasn’t so tired I’d have sat outside chalet an stargazed !! 

Breakfast- lots of choice and piping hot! 

All Corvid guidelines where adhered to throughout my stay. 

Would definitely stay again!

Great Jewel of Beauly

We spent 6 nights last week in 'Knockando' - one of the beautiful little lodges which sit in the grounds of Viewbank / Springburn Lodge. 

Everything about our stay surpassed expectations - from the warm welcome, the peaceful grounds, well-appointed accommodation and exceptional breakfast. 

For the time of year, we were so pleased with the price we paid and everything we received was over and above expectations. The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay and we particularly enjoyed the evening light meals which were available at a very reasonable cost. 

The whole establishment was incredibly covid-aware and we felt really safe at all times. The breakfast buffet had a really good system of one party up to the buffet at a time and the rooms themselves were immaculately clean. 

The facilities on site were fantastic - from the ample parking and extensive grounds through to the lounge, swimming pool and table football / pool tables - there was something for everyone. 

The mini lodge itself was perfectly appointed. There was a really comfy bed, luxurious furnishings, a good sized television, tea and coffee making facilities and a really good sized bathroom with spa shower. 

We were pleasantly surprised that housekeeping came and tidied our room daily and replenished our tea and coffee. Far more than we had expected at the price point!

The bed and breakfast provides a great base to what is an amazing part of the world with Inverness being just a 15 minute drive away. 

I cannot wait to return to Beauly and I cannot wait to revisit the Viewbank. I had an absolutely fantastic time and would like to thank the owner for making our stay so pleasant!

Fantastic week in one of the lodges

I was visiting Beauly at relatively short notice to attend the funeral of a very close friend on the 13th June 2017 . I had arranged to fly on the morning of the service to Inverness and through the kindness of Joanna was collected at the airport which was greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately the flight arrival time precluded me from attending the service so Joanna offer to drop me at the Priory Hotel  where the returning funeral attendees were meeting for refreshments at 1.30pm .
The event continued throughout the afternoon and evening and I left at 10pm with the intention called a taxi to take me to Springburn Lodge/Viewbank B & B . I tried four taxi companies which had been given to me by staff at the Priory Hotel but was unable to raise any response. At 10.45 I left a voice message from a landline ( no reception on EE on my mobile in this area ) onJoanna's mobile stating there were no taxis available and that none of the guests were able provide me with a lift as they had been drinking.  I received a missed call message on my mobile phone at 2am (yes in the morning ) which had been timed at 11.15 with no message left. 
I stayed with a friend that evening since I was unsure of the exact location of the B & B and the distance I needed to walk.
The following morning I phoned on a landline as a matter of courtesy to explain my circumstances to be challenged most firmly by John that " I had not turned up, would be charged for the room, my overnight case would be at reception and that his wife would not be taking me back to the airport " His attitude came across as being accusative despite that he acknowledged having received a message on Joanna's mobile phone explaining my difficulty in arranging transport from the previous evening.
I promptly arranged a lift to the B & B which incidentally was approached from the main road on a single track with absolutely no signing to indicate there was a B & B, and paid my bill of £45 without being offered breakfast which I have actually paid for. In essence my bed had not been slept in so therefore no changing of sheets and laundering required , no room to tidy albeit it was only one night and of course no breakfast to provide so therefore all profit. 

My conclusions are that if your are visiting from Spain to explore the area this B & B would be ideal but if you come from the UK I would recommend the many other hotels and B & B offerings available in Beauly that would be a much better choice ..... just  book well in advance so as not to be confronted by a grumpy landlord !

What a surprise!

Located more than 25 minutes from Inverness, this B&B is situated between a railway and a busy road. The room was dusty and the windows were no longer airtight. A two-piece dressing room and was not clean. In addition the bathroom is common and in very bad condition whether it is the formica furniture which is no longer of first youth or the mold on the joints of the bathroom. For breakfast, the latter is not very cozy (brioche pasquier in its packaging and very Scottish product.

B&Bs to Avoid Despite the Covered Pool

The surroundings are great, the facilities are very nice, with charm, there is an air-conditioned pool, pool... things I didn't expect to find there. The treat, the food, everything in general excellent. We were there for a week and we did excursions that they already had organized and I thought were precious.
