We have  had several holidays here and stayed in both the Shippen and the Lakeside lodge
Both are comfortable and well equipped, warm and cosy in cooler con'd with good views over surrounding countryside from the decking on the Lodge.
John and Ann the owners are friendly and most helpful and make us feel at home on every visit.
The fishing is outstanding no matter what the weather is like.
In over 45 years of self catering all over GB this is up there with the best.
Can't wait for our next  holiday.

1st class accommodation in beautiful country setting.

We booked this ‘luxurious lodge’ (as described) on eBay.  The owner seemed very friendly and communicated via email.  We arrived at the lodge after 4pm and the lodge was open ready for us as described.  Upon entering the lodge there where cobwebs everywhere (not just a few days worth but months worth).  The floors where dirty, the sofas where filthy, the beds had blonde long hairs under the duvet on the sheets.  We had to go out and spent £20 on cleaning products and even bought new cups.  I was annoyed and when we returned and cleaned the lodge thoroughly, I politely emailed the owner to say we had arrived, however the cleaner had obviously not done a good job.  Within minutes he came over to the lodge and walked in.  He was extremely rude and arrogant.    When we pointed out the concerns and showed him so e of the photos.  He said it was acceptable to have cups stained like that, for dirt and fluff to be all over the floor and mop and for the cobwebs to be everywhere.  He said they’ll be back in 2 days.  I even went outside with warm soapy water and cleaned the cobwebs from outside.  The owner said we’re clearly not happy so he wants us to leave immediately (bearing in mind we had travelled 300 miles to get there, been shopping in Morrisons and spent £99 and then was evicted and had to travel 300 miles home.  A total of £150 in fuel).  He had my wife and son in tears.  He should be absolutely ashamed of himself and how he can label the lodge as luxurious.  We received a refund of the price we had paid, however was out of pocket for the fuel and the food that went off because it couldn’t be kept in the fridge.  The grounds of the lodge on the Ebay advert appear as luxurious, lovely cut grass.  In actual fact the grass was all overgrown, there are big nettle bushes at the side of the bins, holes all around the lodge (from some sort of rodents with insulation coming out of them).  My family are by no means snobs, but we do want a clean accommodation and this seller should be absolutely struck off from selling on eBay or renting this out to anyone else without being modernised.  He even said he had 2 cleaners for the lodge who where ‘flabbergasted ‘ and lived within the farm.  They where in their way around.  They never arrived.  My son managed to get a video of him evicting us and also some more pics of the condition of the lodge.  We have taken this up with eBay because he sells the lodge on eBay but then requests payment via BACS transfer (breaching ebays seller rules).  Then he cancels the transaction to avoid paying any fees.  Stay away from this terrible seller!!!

Horrible Owner, Dirty Accomodation

We stayed here over the Christmas holidays and it was fantastic lovely touches and home from home, lodge was very spacious and very well equipped, husband and son loved the fishing, would definately visit again was such a lovely break and such a lovely quiet location 

Christmas visit 

Visited here in July 2016. 2 adults and 3 children fit well into the 2 bedroom cottage. The cottage was very cosy and had most amenities that you could require. Bath and shower were really nice and the local chickens and cats popped in to say hello on a regular basis if the doors were left open. The cottages were a bit off the beaten track but not far by car to the local village. The games room was a bonus with dart board and table tennis table but a nice touch would have been to keep proper table tennis balls in there and darts that weren't broken and jigsaws and scrabble sets that didn't have missing pieces, these would just have been nice finishing touches to a lovely barn. There was free Wifi here but connection was sporadic and very slow so in these days of kids all with tablets and phones then it could do with a bit of a boost in connectivity. All in all excellent though.

Lovely Place to Stay - Very Peaceful

Yet again we visit this peaceful location. Have now stayed in both of the rental  properties. Both have a peaceful outlook. Cosy warm and comfortable. The added advantage of the private fishing is that only the persons renting the fishing lodges can use the well stocked and picturesque lakes. The grounds are always well kept. It is certainly just what the doctor ordered. Can't wait to return again.
