The best thing was the excellent breakfast.
The lukewarm shower was disappointing and the room was attractive but rather cold. One or two staff didn't seem very well-informed or responsive, e.g. we waited at least ten minutes for someone to check us in, the person we asked about packed lunches seemed very unsure about whether they could be provided, the same person didn't seem to know what to say about the shower, the special menu which we were given and which we chose from turned out not to be available the day we were there. Nothing serious, but could just have been a bit more attentive.

Excellent stay over weekend. The staff couldn't have been more helpful - it was a busy restaurant both nights but we were treated very well and the food was delicious! We joined Pete's first quiz night which was great fun too. Michelle couldn't have been more helpful.

Great Sunday roast and excellent service from staff!

Quite well appointed, if small, rooms. Position on a busy sea front is good as well as private parking area. 
Cool showers, which couldn’t be warmed. Their excuse was that they’ve  known about this issue for a while but NOT sorry!

We had 'The roast for two' 
Not sure what to say, other than, 
we have not had a roast like this before.  Its by far, the best roast we have ever had...and we go out alot for carvery and obviously make our own roast dinners..
This cannot beat any of them. Our server was Jamie, who is accomplished accommodating and funny... as were all the other staff. A special thankyou to the chef! Will absolutely be back.

Had a lovely stay, went there for a 60th Birthday Party.  Great atmosphere, fab food & great staff.   We stayed in room 19, very large & with a sea view. Breakfast was good too, great location opposite the beach. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Really good food and equally good service from Jamie & the rest of the staff.
Attentive & always eager to please which made for a lovely enjoyable evening. Well done to all, we will certainly be back.

We went to The Seagate for our evening meal. My husband had the chicken salad with a poached egg, however there was no egg with the salad, the chef forgot. I had a starter of crab fish cakes, which were very nice, not sure the ginger was pickled, it tasted more like raw ginger. I also ordered a side salad which was dreadful, the lettuce was brown around the edges, some of it was dark green, wet and mushy, some of the lettuce was almost see through, it must have been frozen or near something frozen, the tomatoes looked as though they had been chopped the day before, certainly not freshly prepared. The whole salad was inedible. They did knock the cost of the salad off the bill, they had no choice really it was so bad but nothing for forgetting the poached egg. We will not be eating there again.

Poor meal

Delicious supper (the crab cakes and corn ribs are absolutely standout) and the warmest of welcomes from Tony and his staff. Spacious, immaculately clean, bedroom with fantastic sea views, and breakfast as delicious as supper (eggy soldiers strongly recommended)

A charming Appledorian Hotel

We enjoyed a splendid dinner at the Seagate, delicious, beautifully cooked and presented.  Service was a little chaotic, due I think to a shortage of staff, but our waiter Jamie was excellent, he apologised when things didn’t go quite as they should, he was very polite and friendly and more importantly kept smiling. A real asset to the hotel.

Splendid Dinner

This is a fabulous place. From start to finish we were made to feel very special. Check in was professional and super friendly. Our room was snug but what a view! Absolutely stunning.. loved the little touches, including tea, coffee and bikkies! 
Breakfast was absolutely superb. So much choice. 
What really makes this place is the staff. They really couldn’t do enough for you. 
We loved it so much , we have rebooked for new year!
