Basic but very nice room. Clean and comfortable 
Tea/coffee making facilities. En-suite. 
Staff were very friendly. 
Only downside was noise from the main road. 
Canal running alongside. Nice to sit outside when the weathers ok. 
Food was really good.

Great service, amazing staff and now proper real ale. The addition of Timothy Taylor is a real winner. Landlord is very passionate about the food and drink. This together with constant renovation shows they want to constantly attract new customers as well as continuing to impress the locals! Be here again soon.

Must visit place

I was made to feel very comfortable at this hotel. The single room was clean and with all usual facilities. 
                                             I got the impression that the chef is very proud of the food he provides, and although there is no provision for breakfast, don't be put off. If you have an evening meal you won't need breakfast!!!!
                                             Personally, I could not fault this
place and would not hesitate to book again.

Very pleasant staff, nice surroundings.

Lovely location and nice food with a friendly atmosphere. Staff went above and beyond to suit our needs we would definitely book again when we next need a place to stay in the area. The only thing I will piont out is no breakfast that would make it even better  😀

Great value and great service

Stayed at the Riverside for the last 3 months 
Family run business , no issues what so ever . Special thanks to Amar Umesh Al and Killer the Chef (call him that because we couldn't pronounce his name) food exellent , quality of sleep excellent,  All Staff excellent , some of the locals are a bit dodgy especially , the panel beater from Fosdyke ( only kidding mate). The new patio by the river is work in progress .

There is nothing to like about this place. Tired, dirty noisy uncomfortable etc... faulty towers would be the Ritz compared to here.
It's a working mans hostel no more!
No breakfast which I was glad about I went to a local transport cafe.

Not impressed

very basic room , mattress uncomfortable ,bedding tired and washed out  traffic noise if windows open as very close to A16 , no breakfast available , handsoap in shower ? Got woken by other residents going into rooms , talking on stairwell at 3 am . 
would not recommend if your used to comfort and luxury .

one night stay

We stopped here on the off chance that we may get a meal on a Saturday Evening. We weren't disappointed!
Very helpful staff, great food cooked well, can cater for Disabled and Wheelchairs. Able to cater for specific dietary requirements.
Our food was well presented, hot and very tasty! Good price too 

Great food and Friendly atmosphere

Stayed one night after attending a funeral at local Crematorium. Got to hotel early but proprietor let us in anyway.  A few wooden stairs ( not TOO steep and mentioned at time of booking) led us to our room which was more than adequate and clean with kettle etc, towels and tv provided. Comfortable beds too.
The evening meal we had was excellent and worth the money paid and we had no problems in asking for and getting extra tea bags and milk for the room.
My sister and I most certainly would recommend this hotel. 
(Its a pity the weather wasn't better as it would have been nice to sit outside by the pretty river.)

Basic but good

Arrived at hotel. Booked in had to pay in full before seeing the room. Had to climb up some very steep wooden stairs ( don't mention them in their bookings). Room at front of hotel so noisy but ok when window shut. Room nothing like any of the pictures. Two single beds sheets dirty, carpet filthy, shower room ok but smelt of cooking when the fan was on. Stayed three nights, only as it was convienant, never again.after our second night we went out all day and returned late in the evening to find nothing had been done. Waste bin overflowing beds in made wet towels still there absolute disgrace, complained and must admit the lady at the bar was good and gave us clean towels and clean cups. Not worth £55 a night. Stay away absolutely awful.
