Having eaten at the pub some years ago we thought it would be suitable for a one night stay. 

When we were shown the room it was dark, dingy and smelt unpleasant. On further inspection it was dirty with dead insects and other bits in the bed and no pillow cases on 2 of the pillows. We decided to leave. On the plus side the manager returned our money with no argument.

Sadly I must recommend you avoid this place.

Very disappointing

Wow we stayed just up the road from the fox, we eat twice in our 2 day stay in the area. So welcoming, so friendly, staff, locals, food, atmosphere all outstanding! My husband had a salom dish which he said was cooked to perfection. I had a homemade beef burger with cheese and was blown away woth the quality 🤩 the day before we both had BBQ chicken and rack of ribs, with a baked Camembert  (which was out of this would would 100% recommend) the staff are so friendly, and welcoming, it felt like waking into my local pub that we belonged there ❤️The manager and asda rant manager were very friendly and we had a lovely chat, felt very at home and welcomed 😊 were very welcoming of our dogs as well 🐶  If we lived locally we would definitely return, you never know it’s the sort of pub we would return to even though we live a ferry and 3 hour drive away! I honestly can’t describe how lovely this little pub is, thank you again to the lovely staff and locals for making us feel so welcome 🤗

AMAZING

Had a one night stay in the converted horsebox at The Fox. Although we arrived earlier than anticipated, the landlord Scott was really obliging showing us around the accomodation and separate toilet and shower. He stoked up the log burner, and ensured we had a good supply of wood and even went as far as to offer us room service should we not want to eat in his pub/ restaurant. Although sited at the back of the pub carpark, there was no noise and a comfortable stay was had. Would definitely recommend if you want a quirky stay somewhere a bit different. We didn't dine there but looking at the amount of guests the food is obviously very good. Guinness was good and cold. We will return and try the food and enjoy the landlords superb hospitality again.

What an absolutely fantastic find.  Amazingly welcome host.  Clean, new converted barn accommodation with nice personal touches.  Absolutely awesome food.  Friendly staff that couldn’t be more helpful.  Lovely long country walks right on the doorstep. 5*****.  100% recommended

Totally amazing and friendly people

Bought a take away Sunday lunch today, what a lovely experience! We placed our order on Saturday evening and altered the order on Sunday, no problem and our requirements were met beautifully. Food arranged on paper plates, the quality and presentation were superb. Loved the large Yorkshire pudding and the beef was perfect. Well organised, friendly and excellent value for money. Well done all and we will continue using you until we can visit in person again.

Friendly welcome to The Fox, our room was in a single storey building next to the pub. Probably had a busy summer season as the room was a little tired, toilet seat loose, sloping bathroom shelf and mould round the shower sealant.
Double bed was only a 6' standard, so chilly toes for taller guests. 
The pub was busy on a Friday night, good atmosphere and very good service. Wide selection on the menus, food was really good, well cooked, promptly served, but we weren't chased off our table as other guests left.
Unfortunately breakfast was a basket in the room, with cereals, couple of pieces of fruit and cereal bars, rather a disappointment.
Would certainly return to eat.


Great food

We stayed here on the 13th and 14th. Pub and room looked great. Evening meal was terrible...  Nearly burnt my throat with the amount of pepper corns in the chicken chasseur.. No red wine in it no colcannon mash or green beans as stated on the menu... Frozen chips with a burger. Room flooded after using shower..death trap i. Toilet leaking. Black mould instead of sealent... We paid £100 per night... Such a shame... Rubbish breakfast in a basket delivered the night before... Could be a lot better... Save your money and stay in a Premier Inn... With a big fry up. Thanks Emma & Simon

A spent a couple of nights here. 
A friendly, helpful welcome by a member of staff when I arrived late at night (9.30pm). Everything was explained clearly to me. £75 a night, with a very basic continental type breakfast left in a basket outside my door for me.
The walls are too thick for WiFi, so into the pub for that. My room was amply suitable for my requirements, small, clean/tidy, comfortable, cosy (when I put the electric heater on), but expensive. Helpful info brochures at hand, plus tea/biscuits. Tv in room. Shower/toilet, no bath. Car park is a short walk away.

Ample, But Expensive

Visited this village pub for dinner.Mind it is sometimes not open at certain times so ordered drinks first and sat while waiting for 6pm for menus to be offered.
We had lamb shanks(very strong smell),fish&chips(batter not very nice and thick),pulled pork.For pudding we had wAffle(w/c was very hard to eat😬)&ice cream(enjoyed mine-salted caramel).
The place is clean and the saving grace was the girl who was serving us as very polite and all
smiles.

Says it all really- five guests across two rooms.
Dinner in pub - fine and good value/selection.
Rooms cold, beds and linen small, breakfast very poor.
At GBP 100 per night- not good value and very disappointing
