Our stay at the Wyndham Arms was excellent. The Manager was very friendly and polite. We had a large room with a very comfortable king size bed and a sofa.  Tea/coffee making facilities were provided. Also an iron and ironing board and hairdryer. Breakfast was very good and more than adequate. Less than £10 for a traditional breakfast, small breakfast (January sale), tea and coffee.  The location was central to shops, all in walking distance. Although there is no onsite parking, there is a public car park within 5 mins walk from the hotel. Overnight parking is £2 from 6pm to 7am. We arrived at 3pm and stayed until 10am next day. The cost was £8. Would definitely stay at the Wyndham Arms in the future.

A thank you

Came for a single night in the hotel and found the welcome at reception very warm and friendly.
The rooms are clean and hotel is a short walk from the station, access to the bar downstairs and no noise issues.
If you stay in room 24 the remote doesn’t work properly- you have to find a switch on the side of the tv.
Reasonable value and central location plus good breakfast here.

Warm welcome

Went out for a bite to eat and couple of drinks on Wednesday 20/09/23 to the Wyndham Arms or Witherspoons in Bridgend.Mid afternoon they herded everyone to the restaurant area and end of bar so that they could clean the drains 🤔.
Surely they should do this when pub is shut,I don’t know where they stand with the Health and safety of customers but I do know that the environmental health will not be pleased with them now.
I Will be avoiding this place at all cost.

Hygiene,what hygiene ?

Did not stay in this hotel but stopped there for a drink in wetherspoons  having a dog and a disabled partner we sat outside  We were aproched by a member of staff saying the manager had told her to tell us no dogs are allowed on the premises  I replied we are outside on the pavement. There was no one else around   I thought this was disgusting as we had brought our drinks and were asked  to leave. We were on holiday in wales this impression will stay with me. John

Bad experience 

From the moment I stepped into reception I was greeted by Lisa, the manager who was warm and welcoming. She explained everything I needed to know about my stay and couldn’t be anymore helpful.

This was my second stay at The Wyndham Arms Hotel, the first was many years ago and WOW you can see no expense was spared in that  they have spent some money on refurbishing the hotel, just walking through the corridors the place is completely spotless.

My room was stunning with everything you need including sockets on each side of the bed, welcome tray with bottled water and even air conditioning which is rare to see in a hotel in Bridgend. 

I parked in the Rhiw car park just a short walk away which is really cheap and locks at night. 

My conclusion is that this hotel is a hidden gem and the people within it really care about your stay, I highly recommend this place and would even go as far to say this is the best hotel in Bridgend.

New Years Eve Weekend

Pros
Room and bathroom adequate size.  Twin beds, bedding and pillows comfy.
Hair dryer, aircon/heater, bottled water, kettle, coffee and hot chocolate etc.
Sufficient wardrobe space, hangers - included iron etc, plenty of power sockets.
Very clean in room and throughout hotel.
Excellent location 5 mins from train station and a few minutes to Embassy car park (cheap outside parking lot).
Food and drink good value for money, excellent choice for breakfast - service was quick and serving staff friendly.
Great choice of beers/alcoholic drinks, served cold with ice etc.

Cons
Bathroom had a strong bad smell which came and went with the extraction fan (constant and loud).
Woke up few times during night with the sound of doors closing shut in the corridors (heavy clicking sounds).
Only 2 hot chocolate sachets - stayed two nights/2 persons so would have expected 4 sachets (being really picky).
No USB ports by bed

Great location, good value for money - would stay again

Chosen for utility, and really everything was as it should have been. Simple check-in and out. A well-appointed clean single room in good condition. The only issue was some noisy plumbing at about 2 am. Or I think it was plumbing. Air conditioning is a bonus but the fan on the unit was also noisy. At the price it was great value

Painless and Great Value

Ordered a curry with popadom and naan bread, plus a  curry with chips.
Order arrived, naan bread was solid, no popadoms or chutney.
Chips spilled across table and floor, waitress did say sorry before walking off.
I requested another nan and chips, then popadom, was asked if there was any point as curry had been eaten!!!

Awful service

Great central location, even tho no car park.  (We parked in Embassy which was only £5.50 overnight.) 

We’ve stayed in many Wetherspoon hotels and again had an enjoyable stay.

Room was clean, comfortable and a nice modern bathroom.  The aircon was a welcome relief during the heatwave.

Staff were excellent, friendly, happy and nothing was a problem for them.

Well done to the whole team for a welcoming stay.
