I had booked a budget room due to going over to the i360 for a party. The party was rescheduled due to lockdown and so they ammended the date at no extra cost even though it clearly stated no ammendments and no refunds when I booked. The party was cancelled in the end and so the hotel became the main feature. I notified them of my situtaion and again at no extra charge they upgraded me to a large double room with en-suite and a fabulous view of the west pier. It was quick and easy upon arrival and checking out was super easy too. The room was clean and bright with tea making facilities. I had a comfy and warm nights sleep and very much enjoyed my stay, I live locally (shoreham) and was grateful to have a night off from looking after my kids watching rubbish on tele and the joys of free parking as I arrived after 8pm and left before 9am. Totaly win! Thank you all so much.

Customer Service second to non, lovely room, great view

We stayed 4 nights at the Cecil Hotel got down a bit early had to check in at the next door Hotel which was ok, because we were early we were on the 3rd floor that was hard going with my arthritis but not the hotels fault. 
room was not bad we had a family room  which was 2 double beds nice that we could all be together, bathroom was small shower was tiny unfortunately for a bigger person like myself was a squeeze
The resturant downstairs was not open so was disappointing but we could sit on the terrace with fish and chips which was very enjoyable, the walk to the town and pier was not too far
The town and pier was good lots to do and see  and we social distanced and used our masks when needed all in all a lovely few days away.

Baking Brighton

Room was on third floor i asked if we  could move they said they had no more vacancy  but had vacancy sign in window not helpful.had a room with  shower and toilet the decor in room very dated bed was held up by 4 blocks of wood.but bed was comfy.the whole building needs a coat of paint very dark.we had to go up three flights of stairs with luggage not easy for over 50's.

Our room was on the first floor, well decorated and had everything to make you feel comfortable and a great view of the sea in the middle distance. The bathroom was huge with a lovely roll top bath.  Will come again

good hotel to visit

We found this to be one of the cheapest private rooms in Brighton and we were not disappointed! Our junior double was slightly small and shared a toilet but I think you can pay a little extra for a larger room with a private en-suite. We didn’t mind though as the toilets were super clean and there was never a wait for them! We got a pleasant surprise when we entered and saw we had a lovely seaview of the the old west pier! The room was clean and included all the essentials you would need eg towels, toiletries, hairdryer, tea & coffee. Receptionist were all lovely and open 24/7 which is always handy! Although they do give you your own set of keys for the front door so you can come and go as you please! There is also a restuarant downstairs Smokey’s, where they offered us a discount on food. We only used it for breakfast but can confirm it was was amazzzzzing! Defiantly the best value for money in Brighton when you consider the price and central seafront location!!

Seaview beauty!

The room was very little but cozy and clean and the bathroom completly renewed. There was a kettle with tea and coffee and the ironing set. The heater worked properly. The house is in front of the seaside, in the vicinity of British Airways 360 and 5 minutes walkinf from down Town. I recommed It!

Cozy little House Hotel

This was a weekend stay for a special occasion and we found the hotel didn't meet our most basic expectations. There were a number of issues...

- We got hardly any sleep. There was no double glazing or air con so we had to choose: open the windows and be disturbed by noise all night or shut the windows and be stifled (it was a hot weekend). On top of that, there was an automatic light in the entranceway to the room which was activated by movement. Every time my partner turned over in bed, the light went on and woke us both up! 

- The people upstairs were very noisy - even scraping furniture on the floor in the early hours. Again, this made it impossible to sleep well. 

- The sink was blocked. (Unlike the other issues which became apparent over time, we realised this early on and reported it straightaway, but the hotel wasn't able to fix it easily and we declined to have further maintenance people in and out of the room during our stay.)

- The shower was mouldy and slippery. In the shower, there was nowhere to put bottles apart from the shower unit (which was hot and limited on space) or the floor (which necessitated repeated bending). This felt hazardous.

- The towels were clean but extremely frayed. No hand towels were given.

- The TV was obviously struggling the first night. By the second, it had stopped working altogether. (Seemed to be signal problems - see photo.)

- One of the 2 bedside lamps wasn't working.

- There was a used ashtray on the balcony. (This was shared with the next door room and was the designated smoking area.) 

I tried to take this all up with the hotel without success (the receptionist looked blankly at me and I received no reply to an email), so I ended up resolving it with my CC provider.

Disturbed sleep & maintenance issues

It's a nice hotel, facing the sea. It's 15 minutes from North Lain, 15 minutes from Brighton Pier. Location at the top, nothing to say. There's a bit of traffic noise, but nothing disturbing. Room a little small as far as we're concerned, but small balcony facing the sea is very nice and overall cleanliness of the room satisfactory. We recommend this hotel, it seemed more pleasant than the photos and we keep a good memory of it!

Perfect for a short stay

Booked a triple room to stay with young grandaughter for family wedding. Altered booking several tiimes as plans evolved, changes dealt with efficiently and in friendly way. As an old sea front building stairs  predictably steep and rooms not big but adequate, Breakfast fine and copious service great. After leaving found that my wife had dropped a small part of her earing. Staff found the small jade stone( a tribute to their cleaning efficiency) and posted it back. They declined any reward for this much appreciated rescue of  sentimentally valuable item. Will use again and highly reccomend

Simple and fairly basic but clean great location good value great service

Weekend stay for an event at the Brighton Centre. Very clean and well presented, pleasantly surprised and the location was fantastic! Room not overly big but was perfect for what we needed - somewhere central to sleep!
