I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Orchard Gate Apartments in Bristol, and I feel compelled to share my concerns to warn others against choosing this accommodation.

From the outset, the staff exhibited an unprofessional and threatening demeanor. Not only did they attempt to charge additional fees without my consent through my bank, but they also showed complete disregard for a personal emergency. My partner fell seriously ill and had to be admitted to the hospital on the first night of our reservation. When I tried to communicate this unforeseen circumstance to the staff, their response was callous and unhelpful. They dismissed our situation, stating that we should have checked Booking.com's policy. The lack of empathy and understanding in such a distressing moment was appalling.

Adding to the list of grievances, the staff's negligence resulted in the misplacement of keys, and to my astonishment, they threatened me with debt collection as a consequence. This type of behavior is not only unprofessional but also unacceptable in any hospitality setting.

In light of my experience, I strongly advise anyone considering Orchard Gate Apartments to look elsewhere for accommodation. The threatening attitude of the staff, the lack of compassion during a medical emergency, and the careless handling of keys make this establishment one to avoid at all costs. There are plenty of other options in Bristol that prioritize guest well-being and customer service over profiteering.

Please be cautious and considerate of your well-being when making accommodation choices, and I sincerely hope that Orchard Gate Apartments addresses these serious issues for the sake of future guests.

Location is very good as we have all the necessary things available nearby.
Easy connectivity within Bristol
Tesco & Aldi stores are withing walkable distance.
All the necessary amenities are available in the hotel.

Awesome Location

We are a family of 3 and stayed for 2 nights in a 2 bed apartment on the 2nd floor for 2 nights.For the uni-initiated this is located closer Patchway station rather than Bristol Parkway or Temple Meads - this is quite a distance away from Bristol City Centre. Nevertheless access to Bristol centre is quite good with through First bus services - which has a bus stop within a minute and can reach Bristol centre in about 40 minutes. The apartment itself was well furnished and neat with TV, Wifi, Kitchen, 1 common bath, 2 bed rooms. We stayed only for 2 nights and so did not need to use any cleaning service. We were comfortable with all the facilities and enjoyed our stay

The areas of improvement - we were accommodated in the 2nd floor and there are no lifts. So bit of an inconvenience if you have a set of large or heavy suitcases. Door stoppers were not present on all doors and prone to hard slamming if you are not careful. Heating radiators are good but outdated and not particularly well placed - they do work though. Hand wash in the bathroom had 2 separate taps and the hot water is extremely hot - would be a good idea to put in modern mixed tap fittings. Lastly access from the rear door to the main road is extremely convenient but one cannot access the same entrance from the main room (no position to enter key from outside rear entrance) - probably for extra security. 

We are used to this kind of accommodation and hence we were able to manage quite well.. But for the price being charged would suggest to look at the improvements. No complaints on instructions for entry, exit and maintenance of the house. Quite clear 

Overall a good experience and will not hesitate to be back and hopefully some points are taken care of

Good comfortable service apartments

Myself, my wife and my friend stayed for 2 nights. It was a nice apartment which had all necessary facilities. Fully equipped kitchen, 3 piece clean bathroom suit, 2 bedrooms (double and 1 single) and a nice lounge with tv, wifi and even some dvd's. Tea and coffee making items as well as toiletries and towels.The self-check in was straightforward as well. A home from home with the added touch of a hotel like service. 
The only negatives or things that we did not really like was that the hot water from the basin tap was extremely hot. Although this is mentioned in the welcome book another sign should be put on the tiling or better yet the hot water should somehow be adjusted if possible.
The doors close quite loudly on their own, which can be a little annoying and the lamp shade in the hallway needs dusting, everything else was very clean and neat. 
The double bed was very comfortable to sleep on, the bedding, pillows etc were of  very good quality but bed did creak quite a bit when turning.
However, all in all it was a great stay and would recommend it to anyone, especially as it is great value for money!

Great short stay, home away from home

Modern, central, clean apartments, perfect for a group of friends or two couples, we had a two-bedroom apartment and we were in four friends, perfect! New kitchen and accessories, balcony and nice living room with TV, stereo and DVD player. Simple and quick check-in and check-out operations, absolutely recommended!

We rented an appartment via Booking.com, and as the building is clearly a mix of residential and vacation appartments I imagine that the quality of the flat might vary.

We were very pleased with ours as it suited our needs perfectly.  Lots of space, comfortable and warm.

Of course, with an appartment you don't get the flat cleaned daily: but this didn't bother us.  We enjoyed having the place to ourselves.  

The flat is walking distance to the town centre and close to the bus station.  It's right by a local Tesco and there's a Subway and take-away pizza place close by.  The only downside is that the Subway smell does permeate the building a bit.

We rented a car parking space which was worth the money.

Flats are let individually, so it depends who you rent from of course!

Alderman Apartments offer excellent and comfortable apartments on the outskirts of Bristol in the Bradley Stoke area. I had hoped to stay in central Bristol, but as the booking was at short notice, I had to take what was available - and I'm glad I did.

The location is about 10 miles (15-20 minutes drive) outside Bristol City Centre but is perfect for traveling down to the South West and exploring up as far as the Cotswolds and into South Wales.

The apartments are well appointed, comfortable with lots of room inside, comfortable furnishings, 2 bedroom - one a double bed and one a single bed room, the living room has cable TV, comfortable sofas and a dining area and the kitchen has the necessary mod-cons like cooker, fridge freezer, washer/dryer and iron - the only thing missing from the kitchen was a frying pan...

Wifi is strong and aside from some short periods where the service was down was excellent.

The only negatives really were caused by me not reading the small print properly:

1. Checkout is at 10am.
2. I booked via Booking.Com and despite receiving confirmation to the contrary from Booking.com, my payment did not go through as the website did not take the 3-4 digit No. on the reverse of the card. Fortunately Alderman Apartments kept my booking open until I contacted them. Alderman had tried to contact me but my phone was off as I was driving.

Also please be aware that access instructions are received via email from Alderman Apartments.

All in all a great rental and fantastic service. Would I stay again...? Yes most definitely.

Great location, great service...

Cheated & unprofessional place, I have stayed here many times but this times they become worst. I stayed for 3 weeks, their services is really bad.

-They gather rubbish after we lift and place it in the apartment and then they said we will charge you for this waste!! 

- Internet was disconnecting a lot. 

- Security box was not working.

- The cooker was having problem.

- They are suppose to clean every week once, but they got delay for two days.

Cheated & unprofessional place, Charge extra money after leaving.

Endorse previous reviews. An excellent rental, everything as described and so quiet. Shops nearby and accessible bus routes. Please do note that it is at least 10 miles from city centre. From initial enquiry to check out (10am which was rather early, I thought) we had good service from the Alderman team. Easy to access from M5 and full directions given. If returning to Bristol, I would prefer to stay closer to the city centre to be honest, but this is no reflection on the rental which I would recommend.
