Everything is spotless from the entrance to the room, shower, restaurant, even the outside space. It’s located right at the bottom of the gorge adjacent to all local amenities. Breakfast and service first class. Its a real find. We will be back….🙏🏻🙏🏻

Fabulous stay 10/10

What can I say about Gordon's...from arrival to breakfast and departure was perfect , there really is nothing we can fault..the staff and owners are pleasant and polite , our room was spotlessly clean...the complimentary shower gels hand wash etc had a lovely aroma , the breakfast was cooked to order , was hot and flavoursome,  and once again the breakfast room was spotlessly clean , we really can't recommend Gordon's enough...ten out of ten , five stars , even though we don't live far away , we look forward to coming back.

Greatest value for your money   you won't regret staying here.

Easy comfortable stay

A good base for our short break, located just a few minutes walk from the caves and main shops. Very good value for money though would call this a B&B rather than a hotel. Our room was in a separate block to the main building and was small but clean and comfortable. The owner was really helpful with information about the Gorge and places to eat in town.

The cooked breakfast was very nice but other items were limited, e.g. would have expected some fruit to be on offer. Parking is a bit tight. When we arrived had to go in the public car park across the road but we were able to move it to the B&B car park when a space became free later in the evening.


Excellent location and good value for money

We booked three nights at this hotel and were really surprised at how comfortable, clean and well equipped it was. Excellent value for money. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The breakfast was extremely good.

Great hotel in great location. Stayed in the honeymoon room for 4 nights. Super comfy bed, great shower and lovely views. Good advice from the hosts on were to eat in the evening and how to get the most from our stay. Pool welcoming after a long days walking or site seeing. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Lovely 4 night stay

No idea of customer greeting!

A cardboard box was the excuse! 

Ok we turned up a little early  for the strange book in time  of 4pm after along journey but no welcome greeting except for an excuse the owner was unpacking a cupboard box.
My travelling companion asked to use the toilet whilst waiting for our room to be ready then the man owner pointed to the public toilets in the public carpark across the road from the b&b in Cheddar. What a way to treat a disabled person & what a welcome!!

I nearly left there & then!
But after discussion we decided to stay. 
Never again! 
This place will never get recommendations from us!

Things only get worse!

The room was clean with a leaking shower. 
No air-conditioning or fan was offered for the room whilst staying over the September UK heatwave. 
Room at the back of property above the kitchen with radio noise & heat with the lovely view of the air vent ( see photo) then the pool, pretty flowers,( well kept patch of lawn not for use of customers). Windows only half open. Pool apparently open from 9am till dusk when the owner was asked when do you call dusk no answer was given.Owner uses Pool in evening  it's not for guests use then.Pool not open on Saturday morning at 9am we left at 10.30am it still wasn't uncovered. Breakfast -NO fruit on offer, cheap orange juice though, day one apparently couldn't do poached eggs waitress said the eggs weren't behaving themselves. That's a new excuse we haven't heard before. Full English offer is NOT full English, no black pudding, fried potatoes or hash browns, no fried bread on offer. Toast white or brown, choose brown you get seeded. Waitress dropped her cloth in my tea & buttered toast when putting plate on table never offered to change either. Space breakfast with very little choice. Four cereals for choice left out in the open, bowls uncovered. Plain boring looking yoghurt again open uncovered bowls. Forget leisurely holiday breakfast they can't wait to rush you out!
Have never seen such odd hotel rules written down in a welcome brochure in my sixty years of travel! Good luck If you decide to stay at Gordon's & do take a look at the rule book they really are dictatorial & threatening!
Ps. Be prepared to park in the public carpark across the road as insufficient parking & NO disabled parking space!

UNWELCOME ,Welcome from  Man Owner !!

Gordon’s is a delight.  Arrived after a hot journey to find a cool, refreshing swimming pool surrounded by a beautiful garden.  It was bliss.  The room was very comfortable and the bathroom refurbished to a high standard.  Breakfast very tasty with plenty of  choice.  It was very friendly and welcoming. Our second visit and won’t be our last.  

Great overnight stay

What an amazing find. Beautiful setting . Amazing hosts . Perfectly cooked breakfast .  Situated in within walking distance from the village. 12 out of 10 for this B&B . Thank you Rory and staff for making our weekend perfect.
We will definitely be returning.

Perfect and well run

Been here for four years now can not think of a better b+b in cheddar. Fantastic room with four poster bed great views of the gorge from room 8. Best breakfast ever can not recommend enough all ready booked for 2024 thanks Rory and Jola. Dave + Georgina
