Rooms :- Room was freezing. Radiator was only working at a 1/4 . Had to ask bar staff for a radiator key to bleed them to get some heat. 
Decor :- Poor , damp walls, kicked In walls, grubby stains. 
Bathroom :- Disgusting. No words see pics. 
Beds:- Bed was clean, new mattress. Linen clean.

Rooms do get some noise as this place sits at a roundabout. 
NO-ONE AVAILABLE TO SORT ISSUES OUT AT EVENING WHEN I ARRIVED. Only bar staff around. 
Bathroom so bad, I couldn’t use it. Lost a day at work seeking alternative accommodation.
Please Be Aware of booking this place. 

Positive :- Staff were lovely and restaurant food was excellent and good potions. 

ROOMS NEED ATTENTION TO BE BROUGHT UP TO STANDARD. MANAGER DID RESPOND AND REBATED HALF THE COST.

SUBSTANDARD DIRTY ROOMS

Lovely food, large portions, friendly helpful staff. Great Sunday lunches and evening menu is great too. Pork fillet wrapped in bacon with haggis stuffing and peppercorn sauce simply delicious . The mince and dumplings went down well too with hubby and brother in law.

Great value

Sad to be writing this as I really love the food here but the last few times we’ve been,  we’ve been super disappointed with the service sadly. It always seems to be the same as soon as we sit down we get our drinks taken and mains pretty quick to get taken after that but forget any service after this. We were in a seating area with just 2 other tables and yet took about half an hour for empty plates to be taken but not even asked at all if we want any other drinks or puddings (frustrating as we would have maybe liked to have ordered one but felt ignored from staff) Staff were just walking straight past us almost avoiding eye contact. Most of the time we have to get up to grab someone for the bill also which isn’t great and even if we do get the bill at the table we are never offered a card machine. There’s just a lack of attentiveness with the staff that puts a sour note on our visits which unfortunately has just been one time too many now.

Service a huge let down

We agreed with the hotel that breakfast for my wife and I would be 8am. At 8am everywhere was locked up. A staff member eventually turned up in a rush at 8:15 and said breakfast would be "about 20 minutes" - probably an impossibility given that everything had to be set up and cooked. As we had to leave by 8:30, this was not going to happen anyway. In fact though, we feel we dodged a bullet as the staff member's apparent cleanliness was questionable to say the least and the fact that the person had a 'hacking cough' was the final nail in the coffin. We complained to the hotel and didn't even get an acknowledgment. We then complained directly through the company we booked with and they eventually received the grand sum of £16.02 refund for us. Wow!

Quite an abysmal experience to be honest and I most certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone

The food was really nice, the only thing was I had Mince and Dumplings which came in small bowl with one large carrot! 

But the rest of the party had really nice food. And the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good choice on the menu and they also did lunch time specials

Tasty Food

Visited the Half Moon Inn, Choppington this lunchtime and it was rather busy.  Good selection of beers and lagers and the menu was small but it had a good selection of dishes. 
 A warm, cosy atmosphere and the staff were welcoming and attentive. 
 Meals arrived within 20/25 minutes of ordering and we weren't disappointed. Ample portions and everything cooked to perfection. The crackling on the belly pork was outstanding, nice and light, crispy, but not too salty. 
 Reasonably priced throughout.
 We will be back in the not too distant future, but pre booking might be an option.

Decent place

A lovely, local pub and restaurant 
Accommodation is in single story out buildings. 
Very well equipped room with mini fridge, comfortable bed and en-suite facilities. 
Staff very friendly and attentive. 
Breakfast cooked freshly to order with good quality ingredients
 Free parking and bus stop outside facilitating direct access to Newcastle (approx 50 minutes)
The restaurant and bar were very popular and provided a lovely ambiance

Excellent break

We had a degree of difficulty booking our table, both on the phone and via the website, so decided to call in ,in person and book a table for the following day? There was no problem with a positive response from the member of staff who took our booking and we duly turned up the following evening to a very warm welcome and no queuing or being kept waiting?
We did explain whilst placing our order about the difficulties that we had in trying to book a table and our comments, I think were taken onboard? I hope so? 
This restaurant deserves all the accolades that our family and friends have given it and whilst we had a small problem with our order, it was dealt with totally professionally and actually enhanced our experience of the meal! 
Totally outstanding in the quality of the food and the customer service experienced!
Looking forward to booking another outstanding meal!

Well worth the effort!

My son took me for a meal for my birthday and chose this place as we had never been but came highly recommended by work colleague's and friends. we had a table booked and had to wait a short while to be seated as the bar was busy. No sooner were we seated than a friendly member of staff brought the menus and took the drink orders. the drinks quickly appeared and he said he would be back short for our order but got stuck behind the bar so my son grabbed a passing member of staff who took our order. After about 10 - 15 minutes the food arrived. Good size portions and well presented. The food turned out to be piping hot and delicious. Overall an enjoyable meal in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
