Downstairs absolutely fine, nice lounge,dining areas, games room, balcony and kitchen, although dishwasher still not working, reported by previous occupants. We were a party of 8. My wife and I were in bedroom called "Snug". This is single room size at best. because it has a double bed in it , it does not make it a double room. One side of the bed is tight against the wall, I used the window sill as a bedside cabinet. As you can imagine getting in and out of bed at times was a problem. En-suite was tiny and cramped,although shower was good.

Self Catering

We were a group of 8 friends and stayed between 10th and 17th September. The house is lovely with lots of character and is well situated.
  
The ground floor is very spacious but upstairs we had an issue with the bedrooms, two of which are a good size but the other two are very small. The Snug is classed as a double room but is really only a single as the double bed is against the wall, not acceptable.  The en suites in this room and La Petite are minute with a hanging, sliding door in La Petite which repeatedly came off it's runner which was dangerous as the door is very heavy. The shower cubicles however are large with good water pressure although the plumbing is extremely noisy when flushing the toilets.  In the two small bedrooms the only mirrors were over the wash basin in the en suites, a large mirror in the bedrooms would be a good idea.  Beds in all rooms are very comfortable.

The dishwasher wasn't working and on reading a review in the Guest Book from three week's earlier it wasn't working then, surely this should have been repaired asap as a dishwasher is a must when on holiday and with so many people!

On the plus side the two local pubs, The Caste and The Smugglers, were both very good, reasonably priced and about 5 mins drive away.

Well Situated Property

We were luckily one of the first to rent the main part in May after easing of restrictions following conversion from B&B to self-catering.  A few things were not fully supplied but easily correctible.  House is roomy overall but two of the bedrooms are cosy.  Main house is well equipped and has plenty of downstairs space including a conservatory.  There is an outside terrace but not a garden as such.  Parking in the road was fine as it is dead end without much traffic.  There are walks including along the front to Teignmouth which may not be possible at high tide. There is a bus stop a few minutes away with a good service.  One day out was a bus to Dawlish, train to Paignton and a ride on Dartmouth Steam Railway.  There are two good pubs (Castle and Smugglers) within about 10 mins walk with very good food and excellent real ale - separately reviewed.  This is a good base to tour South Devon and would be recommended for a group of friends or large family.  I almost gave an excellent score but have very high standards!

Very Good Self Catering House

What a wonderful house to stay in ... beautifully tasteful decor, fantastic amount of space, well equiped, such wonderfully comfortable beds, large conservatory overlooking garden area.  5 minutes from access to beach wall. Main house sleeps 8,  Stables appartment sleeps 4 or have both for an amazing house party! Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Newly managed and redecorated self catering house

Paula and Trish welcomed us and the 3 nights we spent there were the best that we have ever spent in a B&B. The room was superb and the Breakfast menu absolutely outstanding.
Hoped to return next year but sadly owners retiring soon. 
Brilliant stay.

Best B&B ever visited

Pre check in contact great, room lovely, breakfast superb. Location was ideal to walk along the coastal path to either Dawlish (hard) or teigmouth, an easy half hour coastal stroll. There was a fridge in the room and even a sea view at a distance

Excellently 

Wow! What a fabulous place! More like a boutique hotel! Fabulous room  with wonderful facilities , Paula and Trish are super hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast exceeded our expectations and was luscious. I wish we’d discovered this gem of a place earlier. Thank you Paula and Trish for making us so welcome!

What can I say!!

A very clean ,homely B&B, just off the main road,great welcome from Trish & Paula,Very pleasant room with all the amenities to cater for ! Pet friendly hotel too, Yes the breakfast here is exceptional to say the least! cooked fresh,& always hot! lots of choice too, Teignmouth is only 5 mins away by car but lots of walks here into the town, highly recommended this lovely B&B, Thank you Ladies & will see you again sometime!

Trip to Devon

My other half booked this and I have to say it exceeded expectations! 
We were in the largest room ( super king or king sized bed) which was very attractive and had a wonderful bathroom with slipper bath and shower. 
The room was elegantly appointed with fresh milk and plentiful teabags a pleasant surprise. 
The location is quiet and only a few moments from a glorious paved walk to Teignmouth.  
The best bit was breakfast, though! 
Fresh fruit salad and then very competently cooked Full English (and I mean full!) for one of us, and Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs and Spinach for me. The latter just right. 
All in all, highly recommended. 
I wasn’t a fan of the copious house plants nor china animals downstairs, but the service and quality of stay caused me to overlook them! 

Excellent breakfast and super room 

This homely B&B is warm and friendly. The room was exceptionally clean. Trish is a great host and does her self proud with the breakfast, the best we have had in a very long time.
If I have one small niggle being on the larger side we stayed in the vintage room and when I used the loo it was extremely tight as it was backed into a small alcove. However this will not stop us visiting again soon
