Typical modern day Premier Inn.  One or two staff running around like headless chickens trying do everything whilst a duty manager just sits in the office.  You have to be very patient when staying in a Premier Inn these days.  If there's a couple of people in front of you at reception, you'll be there at least 15 minutes, because as usual, the self check-in machines were down.  Want to get a drink at the bar?  Well you'll first have to wait for a member of staff to spot you, then wait another five minutes whilst they mess around with the till because they're unable to process anything on it due to them "not being assigned".

Poorly equipped kitchen with everything cooked in an oven, so steaks are revolting.  The sausage on my mixed grill looked raw.  I'm sure it was cooked to temperature, but there was no colour on it.  These are basic things.  When I ordered my drink the lad went to the BAR to put it through, then went off to do something else leaving me waiting 20 minutes before I could tell him I didn't have it.  This was after my starter was brought over and he didn't even realise I was without a drink.  How can you possibly call yourself a server and have that little attention to detail?

Room was perfectly average.  Only issue was I had to run the cold tap for about five minutes (that's not an exaggeration) before actually cold water came out of the tap.  This seemed very wasteful, even more so when there are tags everywhere asking you to reuse your towel in order to save water.  It was borderline ironic.

Like with most Premier Inns, the staff are all very friendly, but also very incompetent. Customer service is incredibly important, but also are the basics of working in a hotel.  If someone requests to move rooms, this should just be done (if doable), it shouldn't require a committee meeting and a ten minute faff on the laptop.  It's about balance.  Where it's true no one wants a rude receptionist who gets things done immediately, all with a frown.  We also don't want a super smiley receptionist who takes an age to do anything and is constantly having to seek help for even the most minor of queries.
 
Premier Inn have got to the point now where they've cut so much on costs, they've turned into Fawlty Towers.

Perfect exemplar on everything Premier Inn is doing wrong these days.

In desperate need of a refurbishment. The room was clean but shabby. Lots of little things that just add up to disappointment. The televisions don’t work properly with constant pressing of remote control buttons to get it to work. The Ultimate Wi-Fi is patchy and kept kicking me out. The lift is problematic when using your key card to confirm that you are a resident. Self check in stations never work. The sheets don’t fit the bed and the spare pillows come in a sealed bag, however our bag was not sealed and the pillow case had a blood spot on it so suspect that the pillows were used by the previous occupants. Staff also bring their family into the restaurant to sit around in the evenings.

Poor hotel

Love this Premier Inn, great location and friendly staff, I took advantage of the early in for £10, greeted with a smile, room was clean and quirt, the hole stay was perfect, no issues and a quirt night. I ate in the restaurant in the evening, food was quite good, we had the spicy chicken burger and the prawn cocktail for starters, would recommend them both.

Love this premier inn

Good location close to all town facilities and entertainment. Easy access including car parking.
Staff were helpfull. Great to have a Premier in with windows that open thus avoiding noisy air-con fans or stuffy rooms. 


Dorchester Premier Inn

Not great but for the price I guess you can’t complain , toilet wasn’t that clean , the carpet in our room definitely hadn’t been hoovered in a while as was thick with hair and fluff etc , staff are SUPER friendly and very kind/helpful, the breakfast was good in the morning

In our recent trip to Premier Inn Dorchester We have stay at the hotel many times BUT this time the room was not very clean as the bathroom which was a bit disappointing and spoilt our stay 
As usual the Breakfast was very good.

Not very Clean

Fantastic location near to Brewery Square - I slept with my window opened and was not disturbed by any noise I had a greet stay and would come back. 1 min from the train station so very easy to travel around. 

Friendly and welcoming - great location

I got a great night sleep, the room was cosy and the bed super comfortable. The reception staff had left me a terry’s chocolate orange for my stay too which was adorable and made my day. (Thank you!) My room was at the front of the street, but I didn’t hear a thing all night.

Lovely stay

We are frequent users of Premier Inns and have just spent two nights at their Dorchester hotel. When we arrived there was a long wait to check in which was a bit worrying as only a 20 minute wait outside. Eventually we did get seen by Imran who had the unenviable task of telling us that there was no chef and therefore our meal deal would need to be refunded. We were offered complimentary breakfast which was lovely but we were faced late on a Sunday evening getting something to eat that was reasonably priced. Poor Imran then informed us that there was no room in the car park and we would have to park elsewhere. We quickly took our bags to the room to find out there were no towels, so went to reception and was offered one towel and there’s two of us. 

On looking at trip advisor it’s apparent that there hasn’t been a chef for quite a while. In which case why are Premier Inn still selling meal deals or not informing customers that they will need to make alternative arrangements. Eating elsewhere was much more expensive than we had anticipated. The refund is still not showing on our account so therefore feel very out of pocket. 

This said the staff at the hotel are excellent, all friendly and completely run off their feet as clearly short staffed. Special shout out to Imran who remained calm and professional throughout the ordeal of dealing with irate customers. 

Shambolic 

We normally stay in one of the Weymouth Premier Inns to visit family but this time the Dorchester one was much cheaper 

The hotel room was fine and the staff very helpful. We didn't eat any meals during our stay, so we can't comment on that aspect. The car parking is a bit of a faff and limited. You have to check in first to get your room keys to operate the gates to the underground car park which is really limited with not enough disabled spaces. Would stay again though
