Fresh, modern and new furnishings both in the rooms and in the breakfast room. Very comfortable bed, excellent breakfast prepared by the owner according to your preferences. Kindness of the owners who also allowed us to park the bike in their garage. The structure also has a small private outside parking lot.

A good choice for Edinburgh

B & b well located in Edinburgh. Access to the city centre in 15 minutes by bus, stop in front of the house. Parking in front of the house.

Well located

The place seems to have recently been done up and is very modern although the faux fur covers on the bed were not to my taste. The bathroom is a bit wee to use the local parlance. The tiny sink is oriented in such a way that cleaning my teeth was a bit like using the  "spitoon" in a dentist's chair. The breakfast was great although starting at 8 am was a little late. Its on 2 major busy bus routes so a short run to the city centre. There is parking. They kindly kept our bags for us after check out and it was no bother taking the bus back out and in again to get them and catch the train.  The daily bus pass is a bargain vs buying individual tickets. The shopping centre nearby with large supermarket is very handy.

Comfortable modern room with easy city access

We stayed at the Alpha guest house for three nights prior to a cruise from Rosyth. East to find (bus stop practically outside the door) and absolutely spotless inside. Quite a small room but very well decorated with en-suite shower and toilet. Everything of a high quality. Tea/coffee making facilities. Scottish breakfast cooked to order, cereal , toast, tea or coffee. Personal touch from the owner as well as plenty of information. Large shopping centre (Cameron Toll) nearby with supermarket etc.etc. Parking available if required. Would recommend.

Spotless!

My sister and I travelled to Edinburgh in the spring and spent our first 2 nights at the Alpha Guest House. (And after travelling the country for 2 weeks, spent our last night there as well!) We found the room quite comfortable, very clean, and with all the extra details one might expect. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. A delicious Scottish breakfast was served at 8:30, which fit perfectly with our itinerary! Beautiful historic downtown is just minutes away and the house sits on a convenient bus line! I would definitely recommend Alpha to anyone wanting a great place to stay in a great city location!

I've stayed here for one night, spacious room with king size bed, small bathroom, good Scottish breakfast and good location, with the bus stop just in front of you that takes you 15 minutes to the centre of Edinburgh.

Great solution with available parking

Stayed here as a base for the theatre, nice clean place, good location for the city centre and only ten minutes on the regular buses which stop outside. Room was nice and clean and the breakfast was good also, the hosts were nice and friendly, would definitely recommend, good value.

Is a nice little place with only 4 rooms which means you get the personal touch. 

The room was small but was clean and tidy. Tv. Comfy bed. On suite shower. Kettle. Tea and coffer. Some parts could do with a face lift but on the whole a nice place.

One night stay

Positive:Good location. The city centre is conveniently accessible by bus. There is also a parking space for the car. The hosts are very friendly negative:The accommodation is very minimal requirements. The room is very small, there is practically no room for a suitcase.

Just fine for a short vacation

This is a great little place to stay. Friendly staff. Clean room, very comfortable beds. The breakfast was wonderful. Close to town easy access to the bus system.  Had a great time. 

Would stay here again.
